About Scott MacComb

Scott and Dana are the proud owners of the Tree House in Flagstaff, Arizona. We live in Phoenix, Arizona with our two kids and three dogs. After growing up and attending college in California we moved to Arizona to start our careers and our family. After years of visiting Flagstaff to balance against the Phoenix heat and desert landscape, we have finally been able to purchase this mountain retreat and excited to share it with you.

Scott MacComb purchased this house in 2014

Why Scott MacComb chose Arizona

We have enjoyed Flagstaff for many years and selected this mountain retreat because of its secluded location and views. We think it's the best lot in Kachina Village and hope you agree.

What makes this house unique

With one of the best views in Kachina Village, you will enjoy relaxation beyond belief.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Place is in excellent condition. Love the hand written welcome note that we found on the house when we arrived. The area is very quiet and a great place to stay and relax.

Beautiful cozy cabin in the woods!

  • 5 of 5

We spent the weekend with two other couples and our pups in this beautiful cabin. It is so cozy with 2 indoor fireplaces, a hot tub, and everything needed to prepare your meals in the kitchen! The views off the balcony are wonderful. It felt like we were in the country, but the town of Flagstaff was only a short drive away. The owners thought of every little detail. There were even beer growlers to use for the local breweries! Looking forward to planning another stay at the Treehouse very soon!

Family friendly, well-equipped, comfortable house in the trees.

  • 5 of 5

Was perfect for our family (four adults, two small kids). Especially loved the back deck amid the trees, really made you feel like you're in a tree house. Lots of fun games (pool table, darts, board games, cards, books for all ages, even some children's toys) and hot tub with view of trees and stars. Appreciated the well-stocked kitchen and supplies. Unlike other cabins we've stayed at that were skimpy on disposables like soaps, detergents, paper products, trash bags, etc., or stock only the bare minimum of kitchenware, this cabin was appropriately stocked for our five-night stay and the variety of cooking that a longer stay requires.

Excellent Weekend Getaway in Perfect Mountain Home

  • 5 of 5

A small group of my guy friends and I enjoyed a quick but needed getaway last weekend and this home in the woods was the perfect venue. While close to I-17 and just a few miles south of Flagstaff, the house still offered a nice secluded spot in the woods that really felt like a mountain cabin- peaceful, quiet, and refreshing compared to the hustle and bustle of Phoenix and LA were we all live. The house was clean and ready, had all of the comforts you could ask for, and was a perfect "base camp" for our group before heading into town or nearby sites. I highly recommend this spot for anybody visiting the area and will definitely make plans to rent again in in the future!

Fun, Comfortable place to relax and have fun

  • 5 of 5

Th pool table, darts, and a ton of games for the whole family made staying in a fun and entertaining time. Relaxing in front of the fireplace was easy with plenty of wood already provided at the house. When u want to go out your close to Flagstaff and Sedona as well as all of northern AZ. A dip in the hot tub makes a nice end to a busy day.

The well stocked kitchen, dish washer, and washer and dryer made it seem more like home.

Comfortable beds and pillows were well appreciated.

No complaints at all, hope to visit here again.

The mountain home was such a change from where we live that we enjoyed it immensely.

  • 4 of 5

Scott and Dana anticipated everything we might need for our stay---every appliance and utensil in the kitchen, ample firewood for the fireplace, instructions we would need, things to do in the area, restaurants to try, etc., etc. We enjoyed the serenity of the back deck and while we thought not having a TV upstairs might be a problem, it was actually a big plus as we were able to enjoy the fire and talking to each other or reading. When we wanted some activity, we enjoyed going downstairs to play pool or watch TV. We visited many of Flagstaff's restaurants as well as going to many of the tourist sites----Snowbowl, Bearizona, Sunset Crater, Mormon Lake Lodge, Wapatki (sp?) National Monument, etc. The house was extremely clean in every aspect. We enjoyed our stay immensely and would recommend the Tree House to anyone planning a stay in Flagstaff.

Downtown Flagstaff:

The historic downtown area of Flagstaff is generally bounded by Humphreys St. on the West, Agassiz on the East, Birch Ave on the North, and Butler Ave. on the South. Parking can be challenging – either look for street parking or find one of the several public parking lots throughout the area.

Skiing (Snowbowl):

Check out Northern Arizona’s ski area. Lift tickets, snow conditions and other information can be found by calling (928) 779-1951.

Sledding:

Several sledding hills are available within the area. Here is a list of our favorites. Please exercise caution at all of these locations.

• Kachina Village: although not an official sledding area, local residents and visitors enjoy sledding at the intersection of Kachina Trail and Ancient Trail. Drive back toward the freeway but continue on Kachina Blvd past the “T” intersection and turn left on Ancient Trail. You can park along the road at the intersection of Kachina Blvd and Ancient Trail.

• Crowley Pit: Head north on I-17, through the town of Flagstaff to Hwy 180. Go approximately 9.8 miles on Hwy 180(about 1 mile past the Flagstaff Nordic Center), turn left at the parking sign (mile post 233), and continue to the parking area. (The only sign for Crowley is a 'Parking' sign-- no other indication.)

Flagstaff Nordic Center:

During the winter months, this center offers cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and fat tire biking. Equipment rentals are available on-site.

Location: Hwy 180 at mile marker 232 (west of the Snowbowl exit).

(928) 220-0550.

Flagstaff Extreme Adventure Course:

Experience nature up close and personal in this 4-circuit adventure course that offers rope swings, scrambling walls, hanging nets, wobbly bridges and suspended surprises. They also have a kid’s course designed for ages 7 and up.

Location: 2446 Fort Tuthill Loop Road, Flagstaff, Arizona 86001. (888) 259-0125
