In June of 2013 my wife and I bought a small cottage in our favorite place, Door County, WI. Door County has always held a special place in our hearts and we hope that our guests enjoy their time up there as much as we do.

The cottage is located just outside of downtown Sister Bay in very close proximity to public beaches and popular restaurants such as Al Johnsons and Sister Bay Bowl. The cottage is a great base for exploring some of Door County's best attractions such as Peninsula and Newport State Parks, the quaint villages of Sister Bay, Ephraim and Fish Creek, several wineries and orchards, numerous golf courses, lighthouses, etc. There is no shortage of sights and activities in Door County and we would love to offer suggestions if you are looking for things to do on your Door County Vacation. Door County is a fantastic vacation destination for families, couples, or groups of friends as there are things to see and do for those of all ages.

The cottage has 3 bedrooms:

1. Master bedroom with a queen bed

2. Guest bedroom with a queen bed

3. Guest bedroom with a bunk bed and twin bed (three twin beds total)

There are two full bathrooms including the master bathroom.

The cottage has a full kitchen with utensils and fully stocked with pots pans and whatever else you will need to cook (including coffee maker, toaster, blender, quesadilla maker, etc.).

There is WiFi internet, flat screen TV with Roku which includes Amazon Prime, Netflix and Hulu (no cable), Blu-ray player, and phone (local and emergency calls only). Guests will need to provide their own towels and bed linens. There is not a washer and dryer on the property but there is a public laundry facility one minute up the road. There are also Piggly Wiggly and ShopKo grocery stores within a mile of the cottage for groceries and other items.

There is a large deck on the back of the house as well as a fire pit in the backyard to enjoy when the weather is nice. The driveway is large enough to fit several cars, a boat, camper, etc.

The cottage is also tied into the village's public water and septic system which means that you will not have well water for your drinking and bathing needs. This is unique to Sister Bay as most of the northern Door County homes outside of Sister Bay rely on private wells for their water.

Great location for exploring Door county.

  • 4 of 5

We spent four days here with our one year old and grandma. The house has everything we need. The highchair is especially useful.

The house is perfectly situated on the peninsula. It's within short driving distance to downtown, Peninsula state park and ferry dock to Washington Island and Rock Island.

Overall, we had a great experience here.

Great value, convenient but quiet location.

  • 5 of 5

Was exactly as we had hoped. We enjoyed staying in for dinners and breakfast,(Cooking utensils at house greatly appreciated and piggy wiggly near by!). Cottage in good central location yet private area. Spacious enough for us 6 gals. Very comfortable, relaxing home. And thanks for having games there for that extra bit of fun!

Great home, great landlord!

  • 5 of 5

Home was in great condition when we got there. Landlord made sure we were aware of everything we would need for our stay. Also, we came across two separate incidents that we were unsure about and Brandon answered our calls right away and we fixed the issues. We were very happy with our experience at the cotter cottage and would do it again, absolutely.

Highly recommended cottage!!!

  • 5 of 5

This was a great cottage for a weekend get away! Next time we need to stay longer. The location was perfect. We loved Sister Bay and all of the surrounding towns and attractions were so close and easy to get to. We enjoyed the beaches, Peninsula State Park and eating Swedish pancakes at Al Johnsons. The cottage was clean, cozy and well-maintained just as described. The owner was easy to work with and very accommodating. We would definitely stay again and recommend this property to friends!

Great owner, great place

  • 5 of 5

My family just returned from a stay at the Cotter Cottage, and it was great! The cottage is lovely - clean, cozy, and very conveniently located. My kids absolutely loved it and are already asking to come back next year. Brandon is wonderful to rent from - we came up during a power failure and he was very concerned and took pains to look out for us. We will definitely be back and recommend this place highly!
