The owners were prompt to respond to my messages. The cabin was perfect and well-equipped. Dont need to bring anything but toiletries and food. Perfect!
This cabin afforded us the perfect spot to relax and get outside the box, just what we needed. Very clean with everything needed, exactly as the listing read. By using the faux fireplace, the dampness was eradicated plus this added to the homey feel of the cabin, a win-win situation :) Would recommend to others who want a similar refreshing stay.
The area affords amazing views of West Virginia’s most gorgeous rugged topography. Perfect for both hikers and non-hikers as there are several short ‘walks’ one can take if the longer more strenuous trails aren’t to your liking. We recommend Spruce Knob and it’s trails which are clearly marked. It’s located just up the forest road that the cabin is on. A definite must-see is Seneca Rocks, giant bare rocks that some more daring than us choose to scale. The early 1800’s Sites home and it’s surrounding gardens can be seen from the Seneca Rocks recreation area. Loved the printed information on the garden plants. Some of the varieties are quite old, dating to very early 1800’s. Watch for the large black snake as he slithers among the garden rocks sunning himself. He’s friendly.
Overall, a trip worth our six hour drive, would be even more beautiful in autumn.
Thank you for enjoying our area! Yes, Spruce Knob and Seneca Rocks are definitely must-sees. Hope you can come back in autumn; it is very beautiful!
This cabin has everything you would need to escape from reality. We frequently had deer walk right up to the cabin. The cabin was clean and was equipped with items that you would need to enjoy a vacation. I would definitely rent the cabin again if I was planning another vacation in the area.
Thank you for staying at our property/ Glad you were privileged to see some of our friendly deer while you were here!
Cozy and Clean
It was what we where looking for . quite , easy to fine and get to .
Just what we were hoping for!
Such a sweet property. It was clean, tidy, and exactly what we needed to enjoy a relaxing stay in the gorgeous hills and valleys of West Virginia!
Great time, place was easy to find, cabin was very nice.
Our property is located in the Spruce Knob Seneca Rocks National Recreation Area. While you are here, don't miss a hike to the top of Seneca Rocks to take in the grand view of the valley below. A short scenic drive and a very short walk takes you to the observation tower on Spruce Knob. There are a couple caverns in the area open for tours. There is great trout fishing in the area and much more.
If you are up to the adventure, Nelson Rocks offers guided climbing for the inexperienced as well as the seasoned mountaineer. They also have zip lines to add to the fun.
Within a one hour drive we also have access to several ski resorts including Canaan Valley and Timberline. Also within an hour is Cass Scenic Railway, Blackwater Falls, and more.
Of course if you want to stay put and relax at the cabin, we are back far enough in the woods for plenty of peace and quiet; the national forest borders our property providing you with endless hiking, wildlife watching, and whatever else you can think of to do in acres and acres of woods. .
So leave the stress at home and come enjoy real mountain relaxation.
