About Carole Musaracchia & Beverly Balbirsingh

Hi! We are Beverly and Carole, who are the owners at 823. We live on the first and second floors of our home. We welcome you to a comfortable stay in our studio apartment

Carole Musaracchia & Beverly Balbirsingh purchased this studio in 2005

Why Carole Musaracchia & Beverly Balbirsingh chose Brooklyn

Our home is situated in an up and coming section of Bed Sty. It is a 10 minute car drive to both the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges. We enjoy the conveniences to activities in and around Brooklyn and Manhattan. We like the vibe of the neighborhood and the diverse population.

What makes this studio unique

We fell in love with this house because of the backyard space. We created a private space in our back yard to enjoy when we need to unwind. It makes us feel like we are in the country in the city. We like to entertain and having friends and family over to enjoy the space with us.

Très bel appartement pour une visite de New York

  • 5 of 5

I booked this for a couple visiting me from Portland. They absolutely loved the place! The owners are wonderful and accommodating. The place is spanking, clean and very, very cute. Almost an apartment! I highly recommend and will be using this place again, and again!

A Great Home Away From Home!

  • 5 of 5

Two of us gals (55+) took a trip to New York and decided to explore a new area. We had a wonderful stay at Carole and Beverly's Apt. The apt. was just as the pictures show ~ spotlessly clean, nicely decorated, and we had everything we needed for our stay. Carole's communication with us, even before our arrival was so appreciated. She alerted me to pick up our Metro Cards before we arrived, if possible. I was unaware that they now had them available at the airport (LGA). That worked out GREAT! She also took the time to show us around ~ brought us on the bus route and showed us where to get on the subway. She went beyond the call of duty, and it really made us feel like we had a friend nearby, who would help us with anything.

The bus stop was right outside the apt. We took that to the Subway to the Q train every day. We visited Coney Island, and Prospect Park ~ where the Botanic Gardens were beautiful. We also spent time in Manhattan. We got into the swing of the commute pretty quickly. :)

All in all, it was a wonderful experience! We highly recommend Carole and Beverly's Studio Apt. Thank you for being such great hosts ~ we really appreciated all your guidance!

Our Best, Nona and Lori

Owner's Response: Thank you gals for the great review! We really are happy when our guests feel at home in the apartment. It is a pleasure for us to show off all that Brooklyn has to offer. We are glad you were so open to finding your way around and allowing yourselves to experience this part of the city. Hosting you was so effortless because of how cool both of you are and the beautiful spirit you reflect back out to others. Please think of us again on your next trip to Broadway, NYC!

This was the perfect apartment for our family vacation. You had everything we needed. The beds were comfy, so it was no problem getting a good nights sleep after a long day of trekking through the city. Carole and Bev were friendly and made us feel welcome. Carole and gave us a run to how to get from one place to another and told us about local events we could attend. We will definitely be staying here on our next trip to New York

Comforting Home Away From Home

  • 4 of 5

Fantastic place to stay while in New York. Clean, comfortable, nicely appointed with kitchen essentials and fresh linens/towels. Steps away from public transit, getting to Manhattan and around Brooklyn was a snap. My daughter and I felt fortunate to have our incredibly helpful hosts just a text away. Hope to return for a second visit!

Owner's Response: Hello Future Guests As you can see this previous guest gave us four stars. Not for anything wrong with the apartment, it was as clean and stocked as usual. Not for the location as she says, we are very near transportation. Not because of the extra services we provided for example, this was the first time this lady and her daughter came to New York. I let them check in early at 11am instead of at 4pm. I helped her upstairs with her bags.I took them in my personal car to bring her for her metro cards as I sometimes do for my guests if my car is available. While we were out the Brooklyn Bridge is very near to the metro station so I drove them to see the bridge and the skyline of manhattan and showed them Janes Corousel in the park. I took them to see the faster way to walk over the bridge. I took them home and showed her the bus route, where to stand for the bus and took them down the same road and home. I was always available by text and by email to her. I arranged a car service for her for her trichome. So why the four stars? One day when she and her daughter was coming home from manhattan late at night, she felt unsafe. She lives on a small island in the west of Canada so I can imagine New York City can be overwhelming to someone from a small town. So even though I had no control of the situation, she was compelled to give us four stars. To which my reply is, as always, please future guests, when coming home late at night, if you do not feel safe, do not be cheap, please pay the approximate $10 for a taxi from the train station in Brooklyn. There are a lot of taxi, cabs, car service and livery services driving in the roads, especially at the well populated bus station on Fulton Street,Brooklyn, one block away from the train station. It is a main hub for many of the downtown Brooklyn Buses and very near the Barclay center , the Atlantic mall, and the Fulton Mall, it is always busy, but please spend the money for a cab if you feel unsafe. Thank you

We are located in Brooklyn in historic Bedford Stuyvesant. Our home is right on DeKalb Avenue just steps away from the B38 bus to Downtown Brooklyn. It's a ten minute bus ride to a strip of fantastic restaurants, Fort Greene Park, the Barclay Center, home of the Brooklyn Nets and the venue for concerts and BAM. Take a stroll through Pratt Institute's Sculpture Garden which is only 7 minutes away by bus. Have a slice of Juniors famous cheesecake only 15 minutes away by bus, before you connect to the B,Q, N or R train to New York City right on the corner of Juniors. Stroll through the mall near Barclay Center where you will find stores such as Target, Marshalls, Uniqlo and DSW. Or explore the newly reorganized and rapidly changing Fulton Mall near Juniors in which you will find Macys, Aeropostale, Aldo, American Apparel, Armani Exchange, Banana Republic,Brooklyn Industries to name a few. We are very close to the Brooklyn Museum, the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens, beautiful Brooklyn Bridge Park where you will find the most spectacular views of NYC between 2 bridges. Brooklyn Bridge Park offers free outdoor movies in the summer with the NYC skyline as a backdrop, Beach Volleyball courts, Kayacking,

and the famous Janes Carousel where, for 2 dollars, young or old, you will enjoy this. There are fun parks within the park for children and a scenic bike path. Food festivals are a regular attraction at this park. Citibikes are available a few blocks from us, where you can rent a bike and use the bike lanes made available, we will supply maps. Prospect Park is also nearby Grand Army Plaza and the Brooklyn Public Library and the Brooklyn Museum and the Zoo. A large green market takes place during the summer at the edge of Prospect Park and also every Saturday at Fort Greene Park. Many farmers from upstate New York attend these markets as well as every Wednesday near Union Square Manhattan, a short ride on the D train.

There are a number of public parks and a public pool (Kosciuszko Pool) which is 3 blocks from our house. There is so much to do in Brooklyn, so many restaurants and bars near our home and in the nearby Williamsburg section of Brooklyn. We are centrally located and a very easy commute to all attractions.

You will have a great time and we will help you navigate your way around town. We are gay friendly and straight friendly. Family with children welcome!
