3 deluxe private suites with large private decks
About Betsy Kauffman
Our children were raised here on weekends and summers playing in the creek, fishing and hiking in the surrounding mountains. I love international travel, hiking with my goldendoodle and sheepadoodle, gardening, yoga and photography. AND most especially relaxing on my great uncle's rocker on the porch at our creek house with my pups at my feet. I'm a small town girl from the laurel highlands of Western Pennsylvania and crave my time in nature under the trees along the creek.
Betsy Kauffman purchased this House in 2001
Why Betsy Kauffman chose Sedona
This must be the most beautiful and private location in Oak Creek Canyon at the confluence of 2 year-round beautiful creek. We were so lucky to find it 23 years ago. Your jaw will drop like ours did when you walk out on the big deck which runs the length of the home and see the view of the creek, the towering red canyon walls and thick canopy of expansive cottonwoods, pines and stately sycamores. A true oasis. The quiet solitude is exceptional. The road is gated and we live on a cul-de-sac so no traffic noise. Just sitting on the deck or laying on the hammock brings one a great sense of peace and well being. We feel very privilege and thankful to be a part of this lovely spot. A real perk is the historic and delightful Indian Gardens Cafe which is just across the bridge. No need to drive into town. We stroll down our lane with our pups for fresh coffee and gourmet breakfasts and lunches. Their shaded back patio and garden is charming.
What makes this House unique
Most beautiful, unique and serene spot in Oak Creek Canyon. Our beautiful home is warm and inviting with a feeling of privacy. Encouraging relaxation and serenity, it is perched over (literally) the flowing creek and nestled under the cottonwoods, sycamores and pines. Dramatic red rock canyon walls surround us. - 200 feet of Creek on property - 3 large suites with private bathrooms and french doors opening to private decks. -Large deck with grill for dining or time in the hammock perched over creek - Screened gazebo with a big super comfy, bubbly spa - Newly renovated home brings the outdoors in with generous windows, wood floors and beams through out the house and high end fixtures and appliances and an open kitchen - Pool table and flat screen tv in game room - Dogs welcome! - No road noise - Walk to Indian Gardens Cafe - Only 4 miles from uptown Sedona's attractions - Private gated road and cul-de-sac - Easy access to Oak Creek Canyon trails - Master bedroom is surrounded on 3 sides with windows and 3 skylights. (In the morning, you can watch the sunrise strike the cliffs and gradually erase the shadows. Then if you turn on your side and look out the side window you will see the creek itself. I actually tested that out when we did the renovation so the windows would be placed just so.) - Living room is centered with an inviting wood stove backed by a stone hearth and mantel.

Home is not air conditioned.
Three couples spent a wonderful 4th of July week in this beautiful home that has almost EVERYTHING a visitor would want/need. The setting is fantastic! We spent most of our time sitting on the deck listening to the beautiful creek. The home had more than everything we needed. Our one tiny concern was the listing showed the house was air conditioned, but only the upper floor bedroom had an air conditioner. (I later found one review mentioning this). Our first night was quite uncomfortable although spent in a most beautiful master suite. Being from Phoenix, we are used to hot weather, but we do enjoy our air conditioning and are not open window people. An adjustment to the ceiling fan and the swamp cooler placed near an open window provided a more successful sleep the remainder of our stay. The caretaker was a delight as was a neighbor who allowed us access to the creek from her property. We will definitely return as we love the area!
We look forward to your return! I mention on the website that the house has only one air conditioner but perhaps it is buried a bit too deep in the description. Being from the desert, we get so tired of living in air conditioning that we just love the open windows and fresh air of the canyon. I should have given you a better heads up!
Thanks for the feedback and the nice review! : )

Amazing spot. We can’t wait to come back.
We visited a private area of the creek 1min walk and lovely cafe across the street every day. Incredible place.
My family and I stayed 5 days at the Creekhouse. It was awesome, peaceful, relaxing and had anything and everything you could ask for. Gorgeous house situated over the creek just north of Sedona. 3 mile drive to downtown Sedona a few miles from slide rock. Didn’t turn the TV on once or hook to WiFi as we were so busy relaxing (imagine that). Played pool, swam in the river, sunned on the boulders, slept with the windows open with sounds of the rapids rushing by. Played cards had a fire every night, rented our own Jeeps from MYE Jeeps in Oak Creek and drove off road multiple trails to experience unseen Sedona, northern AZ and the beauty it has to offer. Awesome all around will definitely be back but it won’t be soon enough. Fantastic vacation.
Thank you for your lovely review! Sounds like you had a great time and we hope to have you all back soon.
Slice of Heaven
We will be back … both to Sedona and to the Creek House. Sedona is packed with hiking, activities, vortexes, amazing views and high quality spas. It truly was a paradise, especially in the spring season (before it gets too hot). The Creek House, with the cooler canyon temperatures, lots of shade and the sounds of the "creek" as a constant companion was awesome. Sheila, local contact and home manager, was super helpful!
Love this place!!
The Creekhouse is a unique and beautifully rustic, peaceful place, but also so much fun for our family. From morning coffee on the deck, which is perched over the creek, to evening grilling gatherings, this property has every accommodation you can think of.
After our daily hikes, coming back to the Creekhouse was a quiet respite. We especially loved the beautiful hot tub.
Sheila, who lives down the road, was available for any questions and is so friendly and accommodating.
The Indian Garden Cafe is just a short was away, with amazing breakfasts, coffees, wine, and craft brews. Love that place, as well!
We hope to come back again!!
Thanks so much for the lovely comments and compliments! We hope to have you back again soon!
Betsy and Sheila
Betsy has offered to share her stunning home located in a magical setting with all the comforts of home. We were three couples from Washington celebrating birthdays, we arrived during an unexpected snow event which hampered some of our activities but the beauty of the snow mixed with the red rocks was incredible and arriving at Betsy’s house we were content with being snowed in for a couple of days! Fires in the woodstove, sharpening up our pool game skills, relaxing in the hot tub overlooking the creek and enjoying making dinners in the well appointed kitchen. The neighbor, Sheila was a great help with any of our questions and needs, hopefully our next visit to Sedona we will be able to stay at Besty’s creekside house again!
Cooler by 5 -15 degrees in the summer than Sedona yet only 4 miles away from uptown. The protective canyon walls, the cooling effect of the creek and the deep shade of the towering sycamores.
Stroll to the historical Indian Gardens Deli for breakfast on lunch. They offer fresh, delicious breakfasts and lunch as well as gourmet baked goods, and beer and wine on their patio. A real plus for our home.
The location has easy access to many trails, national monuments and parks, indian ruins, historical sites, horseback riding, biplane and helicopter tours, jeep tours, trout fishing (right under the deck!,) swimming holes, hot air ballooning, camping, spiritual awakening opportunities, great restaurants.
Birders find Oak Creek Canyon draws a wide variety of birds.
For the young ones there is the Trout Farm a quarter mile away where they can catch your supper.
We are centrally located only with a 2 hr drive to the Grand Canyon and 4 hrs to Las Vegas.
The funky, arty, reborn copper mining town of Jerome, perched on Mingus mountain is 28 miles away.
Or you could be like us and simply enjoy rocking on the front porch reading a good book or swaying in the hammock and just relaxing.
