Stunning Setting! Serene, Spiritual Vibe!

  • 5 of 5

Crossing the threshold, you feel the love and serenity that went into the creation of this home. We don't know Betsy but we felt her spirit everywhere we wandered. Quality abounds! Architectural gem! So many cozy places to unwind. After 22 years with Homeaway, Creekside rises to the top. We were 4 long-time friends, gathering for our annual trip, but grieving the loss of a mother, a father, an aunt and a dear friend, and your incredible location on the creek fostered our healing. There's nothing quite like the sound of the rushing waters to lull you to sleep...scrumptious linens, comfy mattresses, great bathrooms, everything you could imagine has been provided! The home was immaculate and fresh upon arrival. The kitchen was a delight for the professional foodie in our group and the dining niche facing the creek and trees cultivated many meaningful hours of healing, love and joy. Driving through the security gates allows one to leave the hectic world behind...lovely community and serene setting in the cul de sac! To Betsy we say a sincere thank you for sharing this exceptional home with us....we will be back! To the darling, Sheila....what a lovely soul she is and so readily available to answer any questions!! The country store and restaurant across the road was a delight...great coffee and breakfast!! While we did venture out for some vigorous hikes and a bit of shopping, we savored the solitude and serenity of the home..the deck...the hammock with the acorns gently falling and ofcourse, the star of Creekside, the rushing creek!! This home is truly a star in the Sedona sky!! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Joan (Dayton,OH), Lanie (Sacramento,CA), Caroline (Seattle,WA)and Carolyn (Cincinnati,OH). God bless Betsy, Sheila and all who enter this gem of Sedona.

Best vacation home EVER!

  • 5 of 5

Thank you for a magical Christmas week! Of all the houses we've rented over the years, this is by far the most amazing. This is not just a rental house, it is truly a vacation home. Betsy has thought of every detail. She even arranged for a Christmas tree so our kids could enjoy Christmas with their grandparents this year. We can't thank you enough!

The pictures do not do the Creekhouse justice. Every room is renovated, spacious, warm, and welcoming. All 3 en suite bedrooms have great privacy and such comfortable beds. The pool table in the game room is fun for everyone. The decks bring the outdoors in. Our favorite "room" was the hot tub overlooking the creek. There was nothing more relaxing after a day of hiking than soaking in the jacuzzi, listening to the flowing creek.

Communication was easy throughout and Betsy provided helpful tips on sights, restaurants, and activities. We only wish we could give you more stars!

We had to return with the entire family!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this home in August just myself and my wife. It was a magical experience. The house sits on the creek. Literally! It is so relaxing and such a treat to wake up in the morning hearing the creek. We had to come back! So we spent Thanksgiving there with my son and his family and they were in awe like us. The house will not disappoint. It has 3 separate bedrooms, each with a full bath and a deck overlooking the creek. It is so private for each guest. It tucked into oak canyon, away from the crowds but very close to town!

We cooked our Thanksgiving dinner in the house and it had everything we needed.

Nobody wanted to leave after 5 days... We love this house so we will return again and again.

Wonderful place of rest and peace

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay in this thoughtfully designed home on Oak Creek where we slept to the sounds of the creek, enjoyed the leaves turning and falling, sat outside and laughed and renewed friendships and enjoyed family time. We felt very comfortable--the house is modern, very roomy and warm. Caught trout at the nearby trout farm and cooked on the grill. A great place for couples or a girls weekend. Will be back!

Private Oasis!

  • 5 of 5

If I could give this home more stars I would! We didn't want to leave this tranquil home. From the moment we opened the front door we we're in awe of the home itself and the magnificent creek. The home is fully stocked with everything your would need. The beds are very comfortable and the home has been nicely upgraded throughout.

There is so much space on the deck to view the creek that speaks to you. Also, the spa is perfectly located for privacy and viewing.

The owner and the property manager were great to work with and very accomodating.

Overall, we wanted to move in and stay forever. We will return very soon!

About Betsy Kauffman

Our children were raised here on weekends and summers playing in the creek, fishing and hiking in the surrounding mountains. I love international travel, hiking with my goldendoodle and sheepadoodle, gardening, yoga and photography. AND most especially relaxing on my great uncle's rocker on the porch at our creek house with my pups at my feet.

I'm a small town girl from the laurel highlands of Western Pennsylvania and crave my time in nature under the trees along the creek.

Betsy Kauffman purchased this house in 2001

Why Betsy Kauffman chose Sedona

This must be the most beautiful and private location in Oak Creek Canyon at the confluence of 2 year round beautiful creek. We were so lucky to find it 23 years ago.

Your jaw will drop like ours did when you walk out on the big deck which runs the length of the home and see the view of the creek, the towering red canyon walls and thick canopy of expansive cottonwoods, pines and stately sycamores. A true oasis.

The quiet solitude is exceptional. The road is gated and we live on a cul-de-sac so no traffic noise. Just sitting on the deck or laying on the hammock brings one a great sense of peace and well being. We feel very privilege and thankful to be a part of this lovely spot.

A real perk is the historic and delightful Indian Gardens Cafe which is just across the bridge. No need to drive into town. We stroll down our lane with our pups for fresh coffee and gourmet breakfasts and lunches. Their shaded back patio and garden is charming.

What makes this house unique

Most beautiful, unique and serene spot in Oak Creek Canyon. Our beautiful home is warm and inviting with a feeling of privacy. Encouraging relaxation and serenity, it is perched over (literally) the flowing creek and nestled under the cottonwoods, sycamores and pines. Dramatic red rock canyon walls surround us.

- 200 feet of Creek on property

- 3 large suites with private bathrooms and french doors opening to private decks.

-Large deck with grill for dining or time in the hammock perched over creek

- Screened gazebo with a big super comfy, bubbly spa

- Newly renovated home brings the outdoors in with generous windows, wood floors and beams through out the house and high end fixtures and appliances and an open kitchen

- Pool table and flat screen tv in game room

- Dogs welcome!

- No road noise

- Walk to Indian Gardens Cafe

- Only 4 miles from uptown Sedona's attractions

- Private gated road and cul-de-sac

- Easy access to Oak Creek Canyon trails

- Master bedroom is surrounded on 3 sides with windows and 3 skylights. (In the morning, you can watch the sunrise strike the cliffs and gradually erase the shadows. Then if you turn on your side and look out the side window you will see the creek itself. I actually tested that out when we did the renovation so the windows would be placed just so.)

- Living room is centered with an inviting wood stove backed by a stone hearth and mantel.

Guestbook comments from the owner

The Creekhouse

There are times when life's anxieties seem too much to bare.

There are times when one feels alone as if nobody cared.

From the binding chains of tension you struggle to be free.

Know there's a refuge all around you if you take the time to see.

Console yourself in those moments shared by the creek

Hear the music in its voice and listen when it speaks.

You'll be given the finest gift can nature bestow

A meditative lullaby which is soothing to the soul.

In all living things there's a unity, water at it’s core.

So take the time to listen, not making it a chore.

For in its touch you'll realize, that you are not alone.

The closer you are to water, the closer you are to home.

All of this in symphony with all that nature is

as the trees sing out their message orchestrated by the wind

They often speak in silence, sometimes in gentle tones.

Now and then they will shout at you to get their message known.

Then there is the majesty provided by the sands of time.

Red rock spires and silhouettes reaching for the sky

and all that surrounds you nourishes the soul.

A visit to the "Creek House" is a memory you will hold.

A fortunate visitor to this magical place,

Cooler by 5 -15 degrees in the summer than Sedona yet only 4 miles away from uptown. The protective canyon walls, the cooling effect of the creek and the deep shade of the towering sycamores.

Stroll to the historical Indian Gardens Deli for breakfast on lunch. They offer fresh, delicious breakfasts and lunch as well as gourmet baked goods, and beer and wine on their patio. A real plus for our home.

The location has easy access to many trails, national monuments and parks, indian ruins, historical sites, horseback riding, biplane and helicopter tours, jeep tours, trout fishing (right under the deck!,) swimming holes, hot air ballooning, camping, spiritual awakening opportunities, great restaurants.

Birders find Oak Creek Canyon draws a wide variety of birds.

For the young ones there is the Trout Farm a quarter mile away where they can catch your supper.

We are centrally located only with a 2 hr drive to the Grand Canyon and 4 hrs to Las Vegas.

The funky, arty, reborn copper mining town of Jerome, perched on Mingus mountain is 28 miles away.

Or you could be like us and simply enjoy rocking on the front porch reading a good book or swaying in the hammock and just relaxing.
