Location, location, location! After living in the country, when our children left home, we downsized and moved in to the city. We fell in love with the charm of our Victorian building and being in Portland, where everything is convenient and exciting!
Because we live on the premises, we are committed to providing a wonderful vacation experience for our guests. We honor your privacy, but are available with helpful hints and suggestions.
My daughters, Ramona and Rebecca and I spent an entire week in this fantastic apartment in the heart of everything that is Portland. I agree with all the other posters that you couldn't find two greater hosts. Barry even drove us around the city one day so we could get our bearings, since none of us has a good sense of direction.
I had been to Portland a number of times before. My family vacationed on Cliff Island and Great Diamond for 3 or 4 years and always made excursions into Portland. But we never really saw it the way we did this time around.
The apartment is in the greatest location, close to everything. We did a lot of walking and a lot of eating and a lot of shopping. All great.
You must visit the PEI Portland Museum of Art and be sure to check out General Grant's statue, which was a "reject". How lucky for Portland to have it.
We can't really add anything to the review since so many have already articulated how we felt about this apartment and the owners. We would just be redundant.
Take our word for it; you will be happy here.
Sue, we listened to the CD on the way home. It is wonderful. You are a special lady and you both are a special couple.
Enjoy Portland in the wintertime. I'll bet it is absolutely beautiful.
Thanks for everything.

Sue and Barry's place has it all, wonderful hosts, beautiful apartment, extra amenities and touches, and great location. Triple A!
We stayed at Sue and Barry's for four days. They are a super couple and so easy to deal with. Barry met us at the stairs as we came up them and Sue joined him later to show us the apartment and also to tell us about the area. We have been to Portland before, but they told us about some of the local things to see and do.
The apartment is super clean and well appointed. It is on a quiet side street with parking on a small lot across the street, but very handy. We went to some of the local restaurants they suggested which were not in the Commercial street area since we had been in that area previously. They were excellent suggestions.
We would not hesitate to stay here again.
Sue and Barry are just wonderful and their home and hospitality made our week in Portland just perfect!! Their home is comfortable, clean, peaceful and a great location. If we needed anything, they were always available and so friendly. We would definitely love to come back and stay here again. We miss it already!!

Centrally located near bars and restaurants. Comfortable bed and furniture. Nice shower and updated appliances. Clean, functual, two tv's and ac units.
I have to add to all the fabulous reviews of this place. Sue was wonderful-meeting us to give us the lay of the land both in the apartment and of Portland, and answer any questions we had. The place itself is lovely- clean, vintage with modern touches, and a great size for us and our 11 month old, and she even had a pack n play and high chair, both of which were much appreciated. We really loved the location here- literally within walking distance (or a quick drive if you prefer, we walked everywhere though) of everything-the ferry, Old Port, Eastern Promenade (longer walk), etc. It is situated in the Arts District, which has wonderful restaurants and a great funky neighborhood feel. If (when) we return to Portland, we would certainly stay here again!
YMCA is one block away and guest passes are available for $12.
There are many Yoga classes nearby with drop in's available.
