Shaded cottage with large screened in porch. Inside has a pleasant layout with lots of light, a fully equipped open kitchen. Private bedroom and a comfortable living area with open beamed ceiling. Mint green bathroom. Rear porch looks over a large old fashioned backyard with a barbecue grill.
The house has A/C, ceiling fans and internet access via ethernet cable or wifi. 'Red Brick Road' is a stones throw away from the Westside Grocery which includes a butches shop, an organic famers stand. Make sure to visit the lighthouse and sunset beach.
The Layout: The space inside the house is mostly open. A curtain separates the bedroom from the rest of the living space. This bedroom can comfortable sleep two. In the main living area there is a new futon that sleeps two. The house is 90% shaded by two large London Plane trees and stays relatively cool on the hottest days.
Sorry, but I don't know what the 3letter code meant.
Beach Tags: We ask that you sign an agreement and return the beach tags before you leave. The tags should not be separated from the keychain.
Screened in porch out front.
Barbecue out back.
Just about to check out after a lovely 3 day stay. The place was perfect for us: quiet, easy bike rides to stores, shore, and food, A short walk up the street is a playground that the kid loved. The screened in porch was a perfect spot for relaxing with the dog to watch the world go by. We plan to be back next year!
Barry's place was everything we needed and nothing we didn't. It's comfortable and well laid out, clean, quiet at night, with straightforward, good quality amenities (appliances, couch, bed, dining table, etc.) and nice flooring. No frills, but beautiful in its beachy simplicity! My husband loved the outdoor shower, and our two girls were quite happy on the fold-out couch bed. Plenty of space for the four of us. The beach was a bit of a hike, but we got a cart from Steger which worked great to get all our stuff back and forth. Only thing I would change might be a sliding door or French doors, where there are currently curtains, to create a more private bedroom. Barry was professional with the business and logistical aspects, and I highly recommend this cottage as a good value choice in Cape May!
We loved this little place! It is ideally located in a peaceful neighborhood very close to the bustle of Cape May. The enclosed porch is a wonderful place to watch the stars at night or the world go by.
Inside is perfect for two but comfortable for four, and the back yard is shady and large. Definitely a keeper!
Can't say enough about our stay except I'll be booking very soon for next year! Very comfortable queen bed, spacious screened porch, large bathroom and the kitchen had everything you might need. Normally we don't use air conditioning but during our stay we had temps in the mid 90's with high humidity and the a/c worked great. West Cape May is a great location, quiet and close to everything, especially Westside Market.
This place is AWESOME! I've been using VRBO since 2008 and this place is one of the best I've stayed in. It's super clean, uncluttered and feels spacious even though it's not that big. We had three moms for a weekend away and it was awesome. All of us wanted to return for anniversary trips with the husbands. It could totally fit a young family of four too. The kitchen is tiny but I was able to cook some awesome meals....I do travel with some of my own cooking stuff...this kitchen has just the basics. The beds were comfy....we brought a full sized aero bed and used that on the floor so everyone had their own bed (bedroom, futon, air mattress). It's an awesome location too....we were able to walk to downtown several times in about 15 minutes. It was great! TOTALLY stay there....but not the weekend I want to. :)
Barry's cottage was a great find! It's located in a quiet neighborhood in West Cape May but still close enough to stores, restaurants, and the ocean. The cottage itself is very cozy, clean, and well maintained. The minimalist style was just what we needed for a relaxing getaway - Hanging out on the porch, grilling in the backyard, no TV needed! I'd recommend the Willow Creek Winery which is right down the street or Cape May Brewing Company which is only a few miles away. This cottage was also very reasonably priced for the area.
Cape May is known for it's Victorian era houses and is a short walk from the house. West Cape May is much quieter and laid-back. Each year there are a number of 'small town festivals' and a farmer's market. Bird watching is a famously popular past time because of the seasonal visit of the horse shoe crabs.
