Charming, designer renovated one level condo in the heart of historic Cathedral Hill district. Wonderful eateries within 1-2 blocks, Easy access to light rail, Interstate 94, Metro bus line, Walking distance to Excel Energy Center, Science Museum. Antique Shops, Minnesota History Center, Bookstore, Fitness Center and Coffee Shops, and a short walk to Grand Avenue for a lovely shopping experience.

The condo consists of two bedrooms and a sofa sleeper-all with queen size beds. Kitchen is well equipped for guests wishing to cook and entertain in the dining room.

The sunroom is a cozy area for morning coffee and a nice view of the back patio and yard.

The sunroom opens to the l patio to enjoy after a day's activities. Cozy, warm, and well stocked property with all you'll need to enjoy.

Large trellis covered patio overlooking the historic Blair House is perfect for entertaining, grilling or relaxing with a glass of wine.

I have always enjoyed turn of the century architecture and seeing wonderful structures renovated and brought back to their original grandeur, and Catherdral Hill is a lovely example of that. This property is easily accessible to freeways, , light rail, metro bus service, etc. I believe you will enjoy all the condo has to offer.

What makes this house unique

You will be within walking distance of wonderful shops, fine restaurants, downtown St. Paul, fitness center, coffee shops, bookstores. Strolling down beautiful Summit Avenue (blocks of lovely Victorian homes) is a lovely way to end the day.

Access to Intetstate 94 (3 blocks) or a 20 minute walk to our new light rail is easy and quick.

We so enjoyed this beautiful apartment with its charming furnishings and voluptuous garden. It was cozy, felt immediately welcoming to be here. Lois is a dear, and helpful whenever needed. A great stay.

The Johnson House -- A Great Getaway!

My husband and I stayed for two nights in the Johnson House. We wanted to stay in the Summit Hill area during our stay in St. Paul, and so this home was perfect for us. It was located within walking distance of many great restaurants and shopping, and is very close to the J. J. Hill Mansion, the Cathedral of St. Paul, and other points of interest. The home is located on a quiet street, was beautifully furnished and the owner has included everything that could be needed for a great stay -- comfortable bedding, a fully equipped kitchen, a beautiful garden area with deck in the backyard, and even a sun porch for relaxing! If you are looking for a place to 'unwind' and enjoy yourself, this is a great place to start!

Great Cathedral Hill Location

Lois, the owner, was a wonderful host, and very responsive to all our questions. This quiet property is within walking distance to some of the best restaurants, and to downtown St.Paul. I would recommend this rental to everyone, except those travelling with small children. The apartment is filled with beautiful antiques, some, like a glass coffee table with a scalloped metal edge, which are not toddler friendly. The bed was comfortable, and the kitchen well stocked.

Brilliant! Practically perfect in every way!

I would give the Johnson House 10 stars if I could. It was the perfect getaway for a girls weekend with my mom and sister. The place was very clean, homey and eclectic. Walk-able distance to downtown St.Paul and the Summit/Grand Ave areas. The neighborhood was quiet, yet one block from Selby Ave where you can find many shops and delicious eateries within a few blocks (Nina's for good coffee, Red Cow for a fancy burger and homemade chips and onion dip, and try the piroshki and chicken kiev at Moscow on the Hill!!!). But it is so great having a kitchen so you don't have to eat out for every meal - and the kitchen was stocked with every type of kitchen supply you can think of. The patio was by far our favorite part of the rental - we spent very little time inside. I am now finding reasons to come back to the cities so I can stay here again!

lovely haven

This place felt like home. Although we did not use the kitchen beyond morning coffee and bagels, it was well-stocked. The place was well-lit with lots of comfortable seating and just a general coziness that we appreciated. The deck and yard were filled with flowers and welcoming as well. The only downside was the shower. It has very low water flow/pressure. Others have mentioned you can hear the upstairs neighbor, and yes, she does have a bit of a heavy tread, but all within normal awake hours. And she was friendly to us. I think the sounds were what you'd expect in a multi-level older home. The neighborhood is perfect for walking, with friendly folks and great restaurants.
