I am originally from Queens, New York but relocated to the Federal Hill area of Baltimore City in 2006. I fell in love with the neighborhood's many restaurants, festivals and vibe. I urge you to take a walk through the neighborhood when staying at Hamburg House to experience the art, boutiques, restaurants and bars.
I also was very excited to how everything was accessible by foot. This is truly a walkable area.
KHG purchased this townhome in 2006
I choose Hamburg House due to it's proximity to the downtown area.
The second floor deck is truly a relaxing place to hang out. I spent many days there eating crabs and many evenings there enjoying a nice glass of wine.
The place was clean and nicely decorated. The location was very convenient to shops and landmarks. My only suggestion is that there be a full length mirror added. Would definitely stay again.
We stayed at the Hamburg house for a weekend trip to Baltimore to catch some Oriole games and visit the city. The house was perfect for our needs with plenty of space and all necessities attended to. The location cannot be beat if you are looking to attend some games and hit some great spots like Cross Street Market, the Ropewalk Tavern and other nooks and cranny's in the city. 15 minute walk to the Inner Harbor, 7-10 minute walk to Camden Yards, even less to M&T Bank stadium (you can see it from the front steps). 5 minute walk to a litany of pubs and restaurants. 7-11 and CVS just across the street in the event you need anything you forgot to pack.
The owner, Karl-Henri, was tremendous, communicative and could not have been nicer. He provided all information needed to ensure a great time was had. Additionally he took the extra step to place a "Happy Birthday" banner up in the house as he knew the trip was a birthday present for my son. Really felt at home and welcomed during our stay.
I highly recommend Hamburg House for location, comfort and ownership. Really top notch all the way around!
In town for our daughter's wedding. Property was spacious and comfortable. Location was great for the proximity to the church and the BMI, as well as for people who stopped by from other hotels and the light rail station. There was a leak that Karl checked out, was not really a problem for us.
Cross Street Market was fun to explore, but there is no grocery store nearby. Kitchen had good work space. I had planned to have my future in-laws from France over for dinner (total of 8) and was disappointed to find an incomplete set of dishes and wine glasses - this was not a time I wanted to use paper plates and plastic cups! I also could have used a large pasta pot, especially since there was a great colander insert in the kitchen. Karl had dropped off a brand new set of pots and utensils but the size I needed was not included. I was going to use the grill but didn't have lighter fluid. Worked everything out and we had a lovely evening, room for all of us.
There was no recycling bin. Parking pass was great to have, but be ready to spend some time looking for a spot at night. It would have been helpful to have info for guests detailing places to eat in the area, when to put out trash, etc. I would definitely stay here again but would check ahead of time if I needed specific items.
Gave it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.
Four friends and myself stayed at the Hamburg House for the weekend, we were attending The Capital Jazz Festival. The Hamburg House is very comfortable cozy place to stay, Karl was always available to answer any questions or concerns we had, when we checked in Karl greeted us with a nice bottle of wine. We spent most of the weekend barbecuing out on the grill. Karl did tell us we were close to everything downtown but what he didn't tell us was that just two short blocks away was a quaint little neighborhood that felt just like the east village, plenty of places to eat and have a nice cocktail. We will definitely stay at Hamburg House again.
Thank You Karl- Henri
The house was exactly as pictured and was very clean. The beds were comfortable and the house accommodated the 6 of us. It was nice to be on our own floors as opposed to having to cram in a hotel room. It was definitely nice to come back to this house after a busy day. I highly recommend it!
It was extremely easy to check in to this beautiful home, everything was freshly cleaned and beds were made. It was a very relaxing house to rest our heads at the end of a long day of exploring Baltimore.
