About the property

Unique Grounds, Garden, Antique Furnishings With Modern Conveniences!

Trully a lovely setting, the Redbrick farmhouse has been my home for 9 years. The character and spirit has remained throughout the life of this wonderful house and 4 acres.

Each room is furnished with functional antiques combined with modern amenities, as well as new mattresses and crisp linens and quilts on vintage frames.

We have three bedrooms. The downstairs bedroom has a full size iron bed, marble topped night stand & walnut dresser. The full bath/shower is adjacent.

Upstairs is the 'Aunt Zeud' bedroom with queen size bed, lots of quilts, bookshelf and interesting artifacts.

The 'Ella & Emma' bedroom is also upstairs with a unique Victorian twin iron bed. Quilts also layer this room. A bookcase, adjoining bath and beach side colors adorn this room lovingly named after my granddaughters!

About Kimberly Claypool Burck

A long search for an 'older' home in the Montague area near Lake Michigan, led me to the 'redbrick'. It trully was the place for my weary soul and antiques collected over my lifetime. Growing up in Indiana I spent happy days fishing with my Grandpa and gardening with Grandma. I have two grown sons and a most wonderful daughter in law as well as two granddaughters. My partner envisioned and helped me create the 'redbrick' guesthouse, after our own unique style. Our combined talents and vision made it a joy to establish.

Kimberly Claypool Burck purchased this farmhouse in 2007

Why Kimberly Claypool Burck chose Western Michigan

Montague is a unique small town, with caring, interesting, hardworking people. We are small but close to museums, shopping...and of course wonderful Lake Michigan beaches as well as some great western Michigan rivers.

What makes this farmhouse unique

We are close to MIchigan's Adventure Water Park, great bicycle trails, dunes, rivers, fishing, kayaking and small familty farms. We have abundant organic farms and markets and of course, unsalted waters!

Peaceful and amazing!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed at the redbrick farm house for a week near the end of August 2016. Very clean, comfortable and welcoming house. We felt relaxed right from the start. Communication from Kim was excellent, keys were waiting, and our stay started out very perfectly! From the garden full of vegetables that she offered freely to share with us to the deer that played in the back yard we found that sitting around the fire pit was a great way to end a day of beach going or exploring any of the attractions around the area. We were close enough to Silver Lake, Meinert park and beach, several farm stores and orchards, grocery stores, and anything else you could want, but not so close that everything around you felt "touristy". If there was anything at all that I could find worth mentioning it would be that Verizon cell phone service was terrible in the entire area, including at the house...but honestly other than emergencies or maybe wanting to find the location of an attraction I don't live on my phone like some do so it really was not a big deal. Wifi inside the house and even outside at the firepit worked great! We would highly recommend this location to anyone staying in the area...I don't think you could find any place more relaxing or welcoming! Thanks Kim!!!!

Beautiful Home and Perfect Location!

  • 5 of 5

I really appreciate the value of this rental. The home and grounds are beautiful, inviting and very comfortable. We found the home to be quite clean and well-maintained. Kimberly generously shares her garden with renters, so we gladly took advantage of fresh herbs, tomatoes, squash and beans! The location is perfect for renters wanting to spend ample time at the beach. There is a city and county park within minimal driving distance, and we did not have to pay for entrance to either park. Kimberly was also accommodating to our special requests and questions. She is a wonderful host! Thank you Kimberly, we had a marvelous time and hope to be back soon!

Charming farmhouse in a wonderful part of Michigan

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at the Red Brick farmhouse. The property is well-kept in a quiet neighborhood, and the house is clean and interesting. Everywhere you look there is an artifact from a bygone era. Everything is just as described in the listing, including the garden, which gave us some ideas about how we could grow things better!

Unfortunately, we never met Kim, but she had everything ready for us and gave us instructions on how to get into the house. She called to confirm that we had everything we needed and was readily reachable by phone if we had any questions.

We spent most of our time at the Silver Lake sand dunes, which is about 20 minutes away. We also ate at the Hearthstone in Muskegon, which we would highly recommend!

Quaint and quiet

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at this antique farmhouse. The vegetable garden was whimsical, the home was very tastefully decorated and comfortable and the owner was so incredibly sweet. She met us at the house and gave us a tour of the home and was incredibly gracious and accomodating. I would highly recommend staying here. However, during high summer the house could get a bit warm if there wasn't a cross breeze blowing in from outside - fine for my husband and me, a bit warm for my dad who in general likes to keep his house at arctic temperatures. We had a wonderful stay - thank you!!!

Simply wonderful

  • 5 of 5

We very much enjoyed our long weekend in and around Montague and couldn't have found a better home to plop down and feel at home for a few days. We loved every minute we spent in and around the Redbrick Farmhouse. It is simply wonderful, welcoming and cozy. The house, its furnishings and decoration tell a story and I am sorry I missed to ask our lovely host Kim about it's history. It reminded me of my German grandparent's farm house and the many summers I spent there. Thank you Kim!

Owner's Response: Thank you! My maternal grandparents were "Knopp", they were German button makers. I'd love to share the history of the Redbrick and perhaps you can visit again. We felt honored your children wrote in the guest book too!

charming and wonderful

  • 5 of 5

The five of us (three generations) had a wonderful time at the redbrick farmhouse. We especially liked its very nice interior decoration with a lot of antique furniture, the garden with fresh vegetables and the deer coming by regularly. Kim is very friendly and avaliable with tips or for answering questions whenever you need her. Nearby are a bicycle trail, a bookstore-cafe, a brewery and a beach. It takes 25 min to walk into town, 5 min by car. The house feels very cozy, perfect for relaxing, good cooking and exploring the area.
