About Ben

Hi there! My name's Ben. My wife Elizabeth and our daughter Madelyn have been living here in Brooklyn for over five years now.

Ben purchased this studio in 2010

Why Ben chose Brooklyn

We were looking for something in Brooklyn to accommodate Liz's work commitments and we found this amazing Brownstone in the up and coming neighborhood of Stuyvesant Heights. It has really been amazing watching the neighborhood grow with small businesses popping up everywhere to bring a richness and diversity to the area.

What makes this studio unique

The neighborhood is over 100 years old and as such the architecture everywhere is stunning to look at. We had always fantasized about owning a Brownstone and its been a dream come true, living in one and renovating it over time.

Perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle

My wife and I loved this apartment. It's a great neighborhood to hang out in. We were a bit weary of staying in an area that we knew nothing about. My wife is a bit of a weenie and was nervous about being out at night. The area is incredibly safe. We rode the subway every day and got back very late every night. Not a problem at all. The place is well equipped with everything we needed. The only thing it doesn't have is a clothes dryer. There is a drying rack which works great. The apartment also gets great sunlight even though it's the basement unit. The bed is very comfortable with great linens and bath towels. My wife and I have rented many places and not once have we had better communication with the owner. Ben is fantastic. Just wish we could have met him.

Great apartment. Located in quiet residential area with easy access to Manhattan. Highly recommended

A great place to relax, all the conveniences of home. Just as appears in the photos. Ben is an excellent host. Lots of good coffee and restaurants wthin walking distance. Quiet , leafy residential street. Staying here made our New York visit very relaxing, and would recommend the apartment if you are looking for comfort, space and a home away from home. The apartment was clean and well maintained with a very comfy bed.

A pleasant 5-10 minute walk to the subway station. So glad we decided to stay here.

If you are traveling to NYC this is the place to stay!! Ben was such a wonderful Host and although he has his own life and family to take care of he made my boyfriend and I feel like he was available just for us. He helped us with our luggage and made sure he was home when we arrived he also kept in touch with us throughout the whole time traveling to and from to make sure we were okay and reached our destination, he also recommended some great spots once we arrived and made us familiar with the neighborhood. This apartment is so cozy, modern, cute and supper clean which is one of my biggest concerns! It does not have a TV as the listing description mentions. I thought I would die without a TV! But we managed on our phones, however I believe a TV would work to complete this AMAZING place. It was located in Brooklyn not so far from JFK which is were we flew from and just about 3 blocks from the subway station and about 45 minutes away from the city. The neighborhood was beautiful, quite and safe. This apt has a full kitchen which we never used because we were too busy having fun in the city and eating everywhere =) but if you like to cook ... thumbs up! it also have a full bathroom, washer/dryer, backyard area which is supper adorable and relaxing, and most important it has a private entrance which is great because you can go in and out as you please without bothering anyone. I can go on and on about this place but ill leave it you to agree with me once you rent from here. Book this place you will no regret it!! Happy Travels and thanks for a great stay Ben, we will be back soon =)

Wonderful apartment!

My sister and I stayed here for a week while visiting NYC. The apartment was so cozy! Ben had everything laid out (keys, wifi password, restaurant suggestions, etc.) and was well organized for us when arriving/leaving. The bed was very comfortable and there is a full size kitchen to make things more convenient. There is also a washer & dryer in case you need to wash clothes or towels while staying. We mostly took the subway which is about a 10 minute walk from the apartment to the train station. The subway took roughly 45 minutes to get to Times Square. This is definitely a great deal when compared to the hotel rates downtown Manhattan. We would definitely recommend!

Gem in Beautiful Brooklyn!

  • 5 of 5

After an insane amount of time/research/looking at 100+ places to stay in NY going back and forth back and forth we decided on this studio and boy was it the best decision! Seriously save yourself the time and sanity no need to look anywhere else book this apartment! Why?

1st The studio was located on one of the most beautiful tree lined streets with spectacular brownstones. The most beautiful we saw in all Brooklyn, the weather was perfect and we soaked in the scenery as we walked to everything around! Great food close by a really great coffee shop with a lovely French twist. Why pay to stay in overrated Manhattan when Brooklyn is so cool!!

2nd I was first apprehensive due to not being in New York for many years and the notorious reputation of the area from years ago, some family friends tried to talk us out of staying in the area. But wow how Brooklyn has changed!! (its gone to the hipsters!) Not once did we feel uncomfortable in this neighborhood every morning there was lots of family's walking children to school and even coming home late at night the walk from the subway was short, well lit, and felt very safe. So if you are on the fence about the area have no worries this place was wonderful as terms of location!

3rd The apartment was extremely clean and tidy, comfortable and very homey feeling. The pictures are an exact representation of the apartment. I cannot say enough about this apartment and we will never have to look for another place in NYC again!

4th Easy parking, we did rent a car to visit some places upstate and only had to circle the block twice and found parking within a block of the apartment.

and 5th most importantly Ben was ridiculously helpful and really on top of things. Quick to respond with any questions.

Thanks again Ben, I cant believe I forgot to leave a review for this place but better late then never!!

Great Studio Apartment

  • 5 of 5

I can't recommend this place highly enough! The place itself is exactly as the description says: a spacious ground floor studio apartment. There are lots of great touches which make the place feel very homely. The location is great, with a variety of cool places to eat or get coffee within 10 minutes' walk. All the major tourist attractions in Manhattan are a 30 minute subway ride away. Ben was incredibly accommodating of our requests, including staying up late for our arrival, getting an extra heater when we were cold and recommending a really useful subway app. For our next trip to New York, this will be the first place I look up for accommodation. Thanks again, Ben!
