The house is located on a low-traffic residential street in Rochester's Uptown/Zumbro Park West area.
Just six blocks from Mayo Clinic’s Saint Mary’s Hospital, the house is close to restaurants, retail areas, parks, Rochester’s downtown core (and main Mayo Clinic campus) and extensive walking and biking trail network.
The property is anchored by mature oak trees and the fenced rear yard includes a large attached deck, garden area and children’s playground set. The deck is ideal for morning coffee or a relaxing evening beverage and there's a fire ring in the back yard if you'd like to enjoy a more rustic evening under the stars.
A compact single-car garage is situated next to the house and additional off-street parking in the paved driveway is provided for 2-3 vehicles.
The eat-in kitchen is equipped with a full size refrigerator/freezer, gas oven/range and dishwasher plus a suite of cooking utensils, Keurig coffee maker, small electric appliances, a Calphalon pot/pan set, baking pans, dining dishes, glassware and cutlery. A basic selection of cooking spices and condiments is stocked in anticipation of your arrival.
The living room is provided with a 40-inch high definition 'Smart' television, 200+ cable television/audio channels and a Blu-Ray disc player with a selection of movies. The 'Smart' TV has several apps to access your Netflix, Amazon Prime or your other personal streaming TV accounts. Snuggle up with one of the Eddie Bauer fleece throws in the living room while relaxing on the leather sofa, the large recliner or the glider rocker.
A TV lounge on the main level has a separate 24-inch high definition 'Smart' television and a Wii gaming console - perfect for watching that second TV show in the leather recliner, gaming or just as a quiet reading or relaxation spot.
High speed wireless internet service is available throughout the house along with cordless telephones for local and domestic U.S. calls. For something less electronic, check out the assortment of board games, jigsaw puzzles and books for your use!
The house has central air conditioning and accommodates up to six total guests in three bedrooms, one on the main level and two on the upper level. Rest easy in crisp bed linens with plenty of extra blankets and pillows stocked in each bedroom. A Nest smart thermostat provides easy and precise temperature control for your stay.
The bathroom is located on the main level and is equipped with a full size bathtub for either baths or showers. Heavy cotton bathroom towels by Chaps/Ralph Lauren will keep you warm and dry and aromatherapy hand soap by J.R. Watkins of Winona, Minnesota provides an extra touch of luxury.
A full size, front-loading washer and dryer for laundry is on the main level and comes with a starter supply of detergent and fabric softener. A full size ironing board and steam iron are on hand for any necessary touch-ups.
While the house is not rated as accessible for the physically impaired, entry is via six sidewalk/porch steps from the driveway to the front door. The living room, kitchen, bathroom, TV lounge and one queen bed bedroom are all on the main level. A shower chair is available for those not comfortable standing in the bath and a hand grip is provided for easier access to the tub/shower.

Allergens: To reduce allergens in the home, the ventilation system uses a 3M micro-allergen filter, the interior is pet-free and smoke-free and all mattresses and sleeping pillows are protected with secured microfiber encasements. The home is equipped with a Honeywell electric air cleaner, useful in further reducing interior pollen or other airborne allergens.

Did a last minute rental when my trip to Mayo Clinic was extended a week for surgery. Tim was super responsive from the get-go, and although I booked last minute, he had the house ready prior to the agreed upon time. So appreciated after a long day dealing with medical stuff and leaving prior rental.
The house is very well-stocked, even two kinds of coffee maker for those of us who are not Keurig fans. Nice hand soaps and shampoo/body wash provided, along with access to additional nice towels and cozy blankets if needed. I actually made note of one of the blankets because I want to get one for my home.
It was just me most of the week I stayed. My husband flew in for a few days to be there for the surgery, which was just a few blocks away at St. Mary's. We only used the master bedroom, the bathroom, living room and kitchen.
Wi-Fi worked perfectly, good heater with Nest control, very good selection of cable channels and music channels. Very nice washer and dryer available for use too. Restaurant recommendations were good (walk to Beetles for broasted chicken!). Very convenient to highway 52/14 if you need to go to the airport or mall.
The house is I think 3 bedroom (two upstairs that we did not use) but the layout is great for one person or a couple. Don't hesitate to rent this sweet house.
My daughter and I stayed at this house for a month while my daughter received treatment at Mayo Clinic. This house is adorable and met our expectations in every way. When we first arrived, Tim came to greet us and showed us around the house. This house lives very comfortably and is very well-stocked with everything you could possibly need. The house is very clean and well decorated too. When it snowed, someone came to shovel for us and we liked the option of having a garage. The backyard and deck were very spacious although we didn't use it very much since we were there during winter. It truly felt like the perfect home away from home while we were gone.
Absolutely perfect place to stay. Will only stay here from now on!
We stayed in this house for a month and found it to be very comfortable with a fully-equipped kitchen that met all our needs. The owner was very responsive and helpful with any questions we had. Quiet neighborhood. Convenient driving access to Mayo Clinic, shopping, and restaurants. A cozy home!
The perfect place to stay in Rochester. I cannot thank Mitch and Tim enough for maintaining such a clean and welcoming environment for weary travelers. They go above and beyond, even having a gift bag of snacks waiting for us upon arrival. Lovely people, lovely property. My husband and I will try to stay here for any and all future Mayo trips.
The house is beautifully decorated, very clean, and has every item one could want, all tastefully arranged. The kitchen is well equipped. I particularly enjoyed using the Keurig coffee maker and the front loading washer and dryer. All the household items were provided, such as detergents, paper towels and facial tissue available in every convenient spot. Safety features were also provided, such as two fire extinguishers and flashlights by each bed. This was our first Home Away stay, and we feel that we hit the jackpot. Tim and Mitch could not have been more attentive or pleasant. They had obviously thought through how a guest would actually use the house. The books, puzzles, and games were an added bonus. We particularly liked the electronic lock at the front door, which meant no key to carry when we went for the many walks we took by the nearby lake. We also enjoyed walking to four coffee houses on 2nd Street. Trader Joe's and Apache Mall are a short five-minute drive. We were in Minnesota to visit family and did not visit the Mayo Clinic, but it is also a short drive away. We stayed for three weeks and enjoyed every minute. We would highly recommend this property to friends and family.
Mayo Clinic's main campus is located in Rochester, MN. Closest to our Uptown Oaks property is Mayo Clinic-St. Mary's Campus. This hospital has the Emergency Department along with many inpatient medical specialties. Located just east of St. Mary's campus is Mayo Clinic Downtown Campus. This location is largely an out-patient facility where patients are seen for appointments and day procedures. Adjacent to Mayo Clinic is the Mayo Clinic Methodist Hospital. Serving many additional specialties along with inpatient medical care.
Many of the the clinic and hospital building are connected via pedestrian skyway and pedestrian subway with connections to downtown retail shopping, dining and pubs.
Getting to Rochester is a matter of personal preference. Rochester has airline service through Delta and American. Additional airline options are available from Minneapolis, (MSP) located about 90 minutes NW of Rochester. Van shuttle service from MSP is available with 20+ scheduled rides daily. Amtrak is located about 40 miles east and shuttle services is also offered from the train station.
Many people inquire if a car is needed. While Mayo Clinic Hospital-St. Mary's Campus is a short walk away, it is suggested you plan on a vehicle, cab or services like Uber and Lyft for convenience.
Our Uptown Oaks location will soon have direct access to Cascade Lakes park district that is currently under construction. This new park will have a lake with swimming, fishing, hiking, amphitheater and picnic areas. More to come!
There are many small cities around Rochester that offer unique day trips. Historic communities, caving, river tubing, skiing, hiking and camping all nearby. The Mississippi River is only a short 40 minute drive east of Rochester where an abundance of exploring and adventure can be found. Ask for recommendations!

50% of the payment for your stay is required at time of booking confirmation and the rental balance is due 14 days before your confirmed arrival date.
A written rental agreement with deposit is needed to secure a reservation; agreement provided for your review before deposit is collected.
Cancelation: a reservation cancelled 21 days or more in advance of arrival date will result in a refund of rental fees paid. Cancelations less than 21 days in advance of arrival date will result in forfeiture of 50% of total rental fee.
If considering a one month or longer stay, please contact us for sales and lodging tax information - elimination of the short stay tax may be possible under state and local tax code.
