We are a professional 30-something couple who live in Manhattan.
Jonathan purchased this chalet in 2014
We wanted a weekend getaway from the city that was peaceful and off the beaten track but not too remote. We also wanted a home that we could use to host friends and family and use as a base for hiking and skiing.
We loved that the house was so perfect for entertaining yet was also peaceful and relaxing. The first thing we did with the place was to renovate the kitchen to make the main floor even more open.
Eight of us stayed the weekend, and while we had every intention of exploring the neighboring towns, this house was so comfortable that we left maybe once to pick up some food. The dual fireplaces and heated floors are amazing, and everything we needed was stocked and ready. Would definitely stay here again, and totally would recommend to anyone looking for a fun and beautiful getaway in the Catskills.
The property was lovely and had all the modern amenities that you could need. We stayed there for a weekend getaway and were absolutely blown away at how great the accommodations and amenities were. Lots to do if you wanted to stay on the property, including basketball, air hockey and pool table. The Sonos sound system was an added bonus! We simply had to download the app via wi-fi and we could control our music selection right from our phone. We would highly recommend to anyone and our group will be booking again for next year.
A 5 day family gathering, a full day birthday party with guests of all ages, meals prepared daily with the use of the fire pit, B-B-Q grill, and well equipped kitchen, terrific blue-tooth sound system on multiple levels of the house made entertaining super easy, tons of space to escape that one crazy relative or noisy kids, Jonathan was very assessable, flexible, and non-intrusive. This house was built for entertaining and it’s much larger than it appears in the pictures. We hope to use it again in the future.
Nice, clean home tucked away near the Ashokan Reservoir. Well appointed, comfortable and fun home. Owner has paid attention to detail to make the rental experience smooth and enjoyable. Good communication.
A bit out of the way, but well worth the trip. A beautiful house on a beautiful property. Lots of space and lots to do.
I had a wonderful winter weekend with a group of friends at this house. Looks great in pictures but even nicer in person. The house was large, stylish, clean snd cozy. We enjoyed cooking meals and hanging out by the fire place in the living room, as well as, the awesome basement with plenty of games and a large TV. I would definitely rent this property again and Jonathan was a helpful and informative host.
