We are longtime residents of Asheville. We sold our businesses and home in Asheville back in 2001 and moved to Costa Rica where we lived until 2012, when we built a house again in Asheville. We once again live here to be near grandchildren and family.
Britt or Gloria Kelley purchased this house in 2014
The Creekside cottage was built to be a vacation rental and with 'green' building techniques. We spared nothing in making it comfortable and think it is a wonderful location, 5 minuted to downtown Asheville.
Brand new and green built!
Loved our recent visit to Asheville that was made perfect by our choice of "this home away from home". Beautifully appointed, well stocked, and conviently located it was everything as advertised and more. Especially enjoyed the two master bedroom setup, so important when traveling as two couples. Only disappointment was because of the time of year we weren't able to use the porch or enjoy the yard. Our lose but defineltly a reason to return. Thank you Britt and Gloria for setting the gold standard on a VRBO property.
The cottage was beautiful. I would stay there again. Very easy to book and very close to everything in Ashville. It is a great place for a party of four.
We just spent the most wonderful weekend in Asheville and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Creekside Cottage.
This is a rental gem. Very well appointed and beautifully decorated. The house even had Christmas decorations
complete with a tree, which made it even more special. We invited friends who had never been to this area before
and were so impressed with the house, they said they will definitely be coming back, as will we! Thank you for
such comfortable accommodations. M/M G. Mathias
We loved the place from the time we walked in. The Kellys had decorated for Christmas with a tree and decorations that really made things so extra special. We have rented many places and know that the bathroom supplies and towels were exceptional as well as the kitchen being so well appointed. Other reviews mentioned how clean the house was and that was certainly true.
It is very difficult to find houses with 2 master bedrooms available and affordable and we were so glad to find this creekside cottage with just what we needed. Our stay there was so comfortable and enjoyable. We would definitely rent this house again for a visit to the Ashville area. It was so easy to get around and find a grocery store and restaurants, as well as easy access to the Biltmore.
We took our son and his wife on our Thanksgiving-getaway this year. My wife and I love Asheville, the surrounding area, and especially visiting the Biltmore Estate. The Creekside Cottage was adorable, with the two masters, the open common area, and the front porch. Though the weather was too cold in the mornings to spend much time on the porch, the constant stream of birds to and from the bird feeder was delightful to watch.
The cottage is slightly off the beaten path but still convenient to downtown, eateries and such. Everything was spotless and worked perfectly; the beds were comfortable and we had all the conveniences of home. We did miss the availability of local TV channels, though we did have Netflix, Hulu, etc. It would have been nice to watch some of the Ohio State - Michigan football game but I was reminded I could have taped the game before we left Atlanta.
Thankfully we weren't visited by any bears; however, the parade of wild turkeys across the property was the highlight of the wildlife. I'm not sure what the correct word is ... herd, gaggle, flock or whatever ... but seeing 22 of these large birds up close was special.
Many thanks to the owners for sharing their little abode. It truly was a home away from home.
