* This home is perfectly set for one or two families, with an open floor plan and a loft that sleeps six, plus a completely private studio which sleeps two (available only as part of the main house rental). There are two full baths, a hot tub on the porch off the master bedroom and a big porch in front. There are few homes of this size available on the rental market. What's more, this home is priced based on the number of people in your party, making it a phenomenal value, whether you are a romantic couple seeking an exclusive getaway or a two-family group with children. This is an unbeatable value in the Ski Valley.

It was a great weekend getaway.

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was nice. Kids loved it. The water pressure was not the best as others mentioned but still enough to get clean. Wish we could have stayed longer. I bet it is amazing in winter. Owner/property manager was easy to work with. A downfall is not a whole lot to do in summer at the ski lodge so we drove to Red River and Eagles Nest which was still a good drive. But that was poor planning on my part. I would love to stay there again. We over packed stuff and they had almost everything we needed.

Cozy, rustic, and great location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here in the beginning of June on our first trip to NM and we loved it!

The pros: The cabin and extra buildings had soo much room. Well stocked and tidy. The look and feel of the cabin was exactly what we were looking for. Very authentic “cabin in the woods” type of aesthetic. The hot tub and front/back decks were nice to sit on for morning coffee and to listen to the nearby creek and sounds of nature. There are no close neighbors, so it’s a very private, secluded feel which we LOVED. The fire pit and many trees behind the cabin are great for outdoor lounging day or night. The location is PERFECT if you’re in the area for hiking like we were. Multiple trail heads are within a 2-3 mile range from the cabin. The towns of Arroyo Seco and Taos are less than 30 minutes away and the drive there is beautiful.

The cons: There is no patio furniture, so you might want to bring lawn chairs(luckily we did). Being from Oklahoma, we didn’t realize that the cabin doesn’t have a central air conditioning unit until we got there, and it did get hot at night unless we left the windows open. The only downside to leaving the windows open was that many of them didn’t have screens on them, so bugs and moths came in a lot. Didn’t bother us so much as we love camping and being outdoors anyway. The cabin is also RIGHT on the main road, which was a tad off putting at first, but not too terrible.

Overall, we loved this cabin, what it had to offer and where it was located. We will definitely be back in summers to come to experience the calming nature of Taos Ski Valley!

Unique location very close to Taos Ski Valley

  • 4 of 5

This was a very unique residence that offered 3 cabins on the property plus a hot tub out back. Overall the house was clean and cozy and had great views of the mountains and we enjoyed our time here. Some negatives were that there is next to no water pressure in the shower and the oven needs fixed or replaced but overall we had a very nice stay and would go back for sure if ever in Taos again.

Taos Ski Valley Vacation

  • 4 of 5

The four 1/2 star rating is what we would give this Cabin for a couple reasons on the property and for the management (not owner) that manages the house.

Love the authentic Log Cabin. A plus for us was on having snow all around the place when we got there. Grandkids loved it!!

Never used the other two buildings. Weather was cold, *25 and there was no heat in them but space heaters. You are right there near Ski Valley, 5 minute drive. We loved that!

Reasons for 4 1/2 stars; water pressure very low even for just one person to shower and it went from scalding hot to freezing cold. We dealt with it. Downstairs bath towels was thin and old. They need to be thrown away and replaced. I asked management company questions about the needs of the house weeks before our vacation and finally got some responds the day before we left. There is a note on the contract that says for renters to clean and dry a load of towels before we leave. Strip beds and an optional idea but would like for us to clean a load of sheets. What was our cleaning fee for? I asked if we needed laundry detergent, toilet paper or paper towels. We got no response. So glad we bought TP because there was none. No laundry detergent to help housekeeping. Also, be aware that you are in the woods and there are small mice that roam the kitchen counter tops at night. Leave nothing out or on the floors. One got into my backpack! Haha! About the trash, no one came by to pick it up on the day they said they would. Don’t start a fire in the old stove, it makes it way to hot up stairs. The floor heater downstairs did great set on 60 at night. There are two step downs, they are not toddler children friendly or elderly friendly. The upstairs was perfect for a family of 4 to stay in. Beds were very comfortable and the hot tube was great after skiing all day. As for cell phones and WiFi, well not so much. We used our HotSpot on our IPad in the cabin. The drive into town was 15 -20 minutes. Beautiful drive!

We loved the idea of the place, very charming. The owner was very nice and easy to work with, management company needs to step up to His standards.

We would like to return maybe one spring and go fishing.
