Beautiful Accommdation!!

I had a fabulous stay at this property! Not only was the location great, the style and comfort was first class. The pictures I reviewed online were right in-line with what I expected upon my arrival. In addition, the staff was very helpful with any questions I had throughout my stay. I will definitely be returning here the next time I'm in Virginia Beach.

We stayed in a different property than the Napoli.

  • 2 of 5

We have used VRBO in the past and had wonderful success. Virginia Beach had many wonderful activities going on while we visited. The owner asked if we would be willing to change condos a few days before we arrived to accommodate a request from another customer so we didn't get to stay in the Napoli. He sent pictures and we agreed but still wish we could have stayed at the original choice. The renters above us had loud activities going on throughout the night our entire stay to no fault of the owner. My biggest request is to have more toiletries in the condo. We had to purchase soap to do dishes, paper towels, trash bags and so on. The craftsmanship was not the best, furniture was uncomfortable, and the shower was difficult to keep the water from spraying and leaking on the floor. We have stayed in much more cozy places for the cost but perhaps this condo was still a work in progress.

May Vacation

  • 3 of 5

Overall, place is ok.. not great quality but great location! First off, when we arrived we discovered that we were given a room that I had never even seen online.. and clearly not the room I booked originally. I didn't ask for a refund or a discount but probably should have. The unit we got was 101 The Venezia and while the bedroom setup with two big beds was nice, the overall condo is not great. The bathroom is in rough shape with clear spackle on areas of the walls. a few other problems: the living room fan and light did not work the entire time we were there, the outer windows in the kitchen/living room are rusted and literally falling off the hinge, and the outdoor grill and furniture was rusted but usable. The last main problem we had was the entire AC unit in our condo stopped working the last night we were there which made the whole house humid as anything since it was 76 degrees out during the night.

Some positives: kitchen is set up pretty well with many tools for cooking, you can grill outside in the back area, and it has a great location from the beach: literally 2 blocks

Overall, would only pay the amount we did, again, if these things were improved. overall just ok!

Owner's Response: Hello Tyler Thank you for your honest feed back, I apologize for the items that did not meet your expectations, I would like you to know that we are replacing the outdoor furniture immediately and the air conditioner was taken care the following morning, seems the problem was a outdoor wire that was affected by rain. Again my apologies, I will be calling you directly as well, we hope to be able to always exceed our customers expectations.

Great Location / Much Better than a Hotel

  • 4 of 5

Let me just say that we tried to book "the Napoli" but were actually given another property, "The Modena" due to unavailability of the other property. Discovered that when I got the confirmation e-mail from the property manager who indicated he had tried to call me - he had - but my cell phone wasn't with me at work so would've appreciated a voice mail. This property is very similar to the Napoli - same complex. The goods:

Location: 2 blocks from the ocean front, grocery store (Harris Teeter) a 3 minute walk, plenty of restaurants, mini-golf, arcade, etc a short walk. Also plenty of places off the beach close like shopping malls, Dave and Busters, etc.

Parking: You only get one parking pass, but parking was good, easy and close.

Everything Provided: Linen, blankets, pillows, towels, wash cloths, dishes, small appliances, etc. No complaints.

Cleanliness: It was clean - should be if they are charging a cleaning fee.

Confort: A/C and Heat worked fine, plenty of hot water, beds were good (couch bed iffy). It was quiet other than the daily jet noise/sounds of freedom.

Communication: Other than the mentioned voice mail, the manager communicated quickly and often.

Not So Goods:

Fit and Finish: drawer missing in kitchen, plaster around a light fixture and plug outlet, front door was easily blown open by the wind if dead bolt not thrown.

Capacity: This fit our family (2 adults, 3 kids 11-17). The couch bed was rather uncomfortable for a larger kid - better to just sleep on the couch itself. I suppose you could fit multiple smaller kids in the bunk beds.

Yard Area (common area for all units): Not very clean with trash etc. A little sprucing up out there would be a plus.

General: Cost was equivalent to oceanfront hotels, but you get much more space, a full kitchen to cook in and easier parking. We would choose this over the oceanfront hotels any day.

Recommendations: We would definitely stay again, but would ask for additional key next time. Only one was provided in the lock box - that coupled with door blowing open was an issue at times.

Labor Day weekend stay at good location

  • 4 of 5

We had 4 adults (sometimes 6 total) one of which was there for the 1/2 Marathon race. Only 2.5 blocks from the beach and close to grocery store, 7-11, and restaurants. The PROS: very good location; quiet; very comfy beds; remodeled kitchen; A/C and TV's in both rooms and open area; backyard deck (didn't use much). The CONS: kitchen lacked some essentials for cooking; hard to moderate water temperature in shower; main rug not vacuumed. Overall, a good stay and would recommend.
