About Deborah Haling

Hi. I'm Deborah and this is our Adventure Cabin in the pines. I own an Adventure Travel company (I'm a travel agent) and I arrange exciting and adventurous trips for Clubs and groups. I am taking outdoor, photography, hiking and social Clubs to some really amazing places next year!! So, what's on your Bucket List??? If you're like me and love adventure - hiking, biking, exploring, fishing... you'll love your stay in Prescott in our cabin in the National Forest. Bring your kayaks or bikes, and enjoy the area.

Why Deborah Haling chose Arizona

Looking for a forest getaway just an hour or so from Phoenix? At 6,100 feet elevation in the cool forest- biking, hiking, fishing and just good ol' R and R are at your fingertips. And we are just a stone's throw (OK - it's a looong stone's throw...) from Lynx Lake. It's just down the road. Where there is a lovely Cafe with wonderful food, a walking path all the way around the lake (fabulous walk!!), fishing, boating and paddle boats for rent!!

What makes this cabin unique

Autumn leaves, just an hour or so's drive from Phoenix! In the enchanting forest, but downtown Prescott and Whiskey Row are just minutes away!

Guestbook comments from the owner

As this was my first experience with this type of rental process, I kept my expectations low. I will say I was very pleasantly surprised as I was greeted by Deborah. Her guesthouse was exactly as I was hoping, and then some. This little guesthouse is private and cozy. The added and unexpected feature of having the creek running just outside the window and off the deck, and being able to fall asleep at night with that was "just what the doctor ordered." I spent the week here to "decompress" from my crazy life in the valley, and cant wait to go back. The bed was very comfortable and I must say I haven't felt this rested in quite a while. Thanks again Deborah for a great stay!

Quiet and cozy

  • 5 of 5

We loved the cabin. It has everything you need for a get-away and was very clean, as promised. Detached from the main house, the cabin is very private and quiet. We streamed Netflix and Pandora without any problems on local wifi.

There is a little lake just 5 min away, where you can fish, rent a boat, or do a very easy but beautiful hike around the lake.

We will definitely coming back. Thank you, Deborah!

Hotels can't match it

  • 4 of 5

In celebration of our wedding anniversary, Daisy and I revisited Prescott.

Instead of an in-town hotel, we chose to stay at the Cabin in the Pines location.

It was the best choice we have made ( Since getting married!!)

Deer checking us out through our window, the delightful peace of the place, and the thoughtful layout of the interior were evidence of a successful effort to provide what is completely unavailable in hotels. The fishing motif throughout the cabin was at the extreme end when it became necessary to replace the toilet paper in the fishing reel--but was offset by Larry's helpfulness when we needed

some resupplies during our two week stay. Satellite T.V. is coming, but we found Netflix (if you're a subscriber) or other on -line offerings were sufficient, or better, than the politicized and repetitive Election news Cycle during our October visit.

A light weight Eureka Cordless Vacuum might be a helpful addition for future guests use in the reduction of graham cracker crumbs and oak leaves from the maintaining the excellent wood floors and carpet---try it you will like it!

Owner's Response: We are so very glad you had a peaceful and fun time returning to Prescott and at the Cabin! We know you have many choices while traveling - so thank you for choosing our little fishing cabin for your stay. Please come back and see us sometime. ~~~~Deborah & Larry P.S. - we do have a broom and dustpan for tidying up - may be a bit "old school"...

Excellent Home Base for Prescott Adventure!

  • 5 of 5

Looking for an opportunity to unplug and have some adventure - this cabin is the place! We enjoyed being there in the Prescott Forest, the cabin was perfect as a home base to explore town and have some much needed unplugged time. Loved the amenities and the proximity to town - close but not real close. Quiet and somewhat private we will definitely be back!

Modern, very comfortable

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay even though it was not as secluded as we expected, we were there to relax and we did, comforttable chairs on the patio and inside, the fact it has no TV is a plus there is no outside distraction.

Over all we had a plesant experience at the cabin. We have At&t as a cell phone provider and there is no reception there until you get near Lynx lake, 3 miles away, so contact with the family was limited.

The property was clean as expected, however it was realitively dark for reading in parts of the cabin due to many of the lights not working, and the fireplace was not working or we could not figure it out.

We spent time at Lynx lake it is a very pretty lake and enjoyed by many in the area, as we did also.

We would ecomend it to our friends who like to get away, as we did.

Private, cozy, comfortable

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at Cabin In the Pines. Besides being very comfortable and clean, one of our favorite features was the private deck that looks out to the pine trees. The bed was very comfortable which is always a concern for us older folks. Although the location is very rural the distance to every kind of shopping and restaurant is very convenient. Lynx Lake is just down the road and provides a beautiful setting for the lakeside walking path. We thoroughly enjoyed the downtown section of Prescott and a day trip to Jerome. Deborah and Larry were wonderful hosts.....they gave us our privacy but were there when we had a small request. We're looking forward to a return trip!

Perfect little cabin

  • 5 of 5

This was the type of place we were hoping for - tucked away from town but close enough to civilization for anything we needed. The cabin was immaculate and seemed larger than the pictures on VRBO. Beautiful area in the pines of the national forest - amazing transition after driving from Phoenix airport with desert cactus along the way. We did morning and afternoon hikes around Lynx Lake but our favorite was Watson Lake. Wished we could have rented kayaks but our timing was off. Deborah was sweet to have a bottle of wine waiting for us on our arrival with plenty of snacks. While the temperatures were in the 90s during the day, sitting on the deck and in the cabin always felt much cooler. Our final night we had a small thunder and lightning storm which got the stream flowing in the morning - very nice touch! We would definitely stay here again. Perfect for a quiet getaway.
