THE COTTAGE is the ideal place for a private escape coupled with countless perks.
The home is adjacent to Eagle's Nest, another home at The Camp, but it has its own easily accessible entrance on a different side of the building and a private covered deck that make it truly separate.
After a day of activities at The Camp, you'll want to stretch out across the king-sized bed and watch the wide-screen satellite television. If you're accommodating more people, there are two sleeper sofas, and another giant plasma TV in the living room. The COTTAGE also has a fully equipped kitchen and a dining area. It is perfect for pets, with a level grassy yard just outside the door. The unit is also available as a package rental with Eagle's Nest. Please inquire.

The Camp is located near several of the best attractions that the North Carolina mountains have to offer. A scenic seven mile drive brings you to Lake Lure, where Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey practiced dance moves in the moonlit water in the hit 80's movie Dirty Dancing. Just down the road from Lake Lure is Chimney Rock Park, a thousand-acre pet-friendly park, whose main attraction is breathtaking Exclamation Point which offers a stunning view of the gorge below. Nearby attractions also include gem mining, whitewater rafting, and hiking trails.
You'll find everything you ever dreamed possible right on-site at The Camp. Food delivery is available from dozens of Asheville restaurants. The Camp also provides plenty of firewood for those cozy campfires and delightful s'mores that will make you giggle like you haven't in years. Ideal for large gatherings, multi-family getaways, The Camp is private, well appointed, and brimming with loads of fun for all ages!
This property is also available with the other homes at The Camp: Cloud 9(#757636) Eagles Nest (#757634), and The Camp (#432302)
For nearly eight decades prior to its renovation, The Camp operated as Camp Mishemokwa where hundreds of children spent summers having all the classic first-time-at-camp experiences. In 2005, The Blum Family purchased the 150-acre property, spending countless dollars and tireless hours rebuilding, renovating, and giving The Camp a new lease on life as a vacation rental property. This private gated estate is the perfect place for family reunions, girls' and guys' getaways, destination weddings, corporate and spiritual retreats.

There is nothing else like it! The Camp artfully combines luxurious, comfortable accommodations with a 150-acre fun park (complete with heated pool, a 150ft water slide and a huge Social Hall/Arcade/Game Room!) set in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. The 4 homes on the estate can be rented individually or together.
When you rent a home at The Camp, you not only get a gorgeous accommodation with all the comforts of home (and then some!), but you also have FREE use of the fantastic amenities available on-site. There is truly something to do for every age group!
We had a good-sized group of dads and daughters who enjoyed the Camp as an alternative to the standard Indian Princess location. There were about 15 dads and 18 daughters. Since the Cottage was part of the Camp that we rented, I can comment on it in a couple of meaningful ways.
First, it really seems to be secluded from the rest of the building. There's not an interior staircase from the Eagle's Nest above to the Cottage below. And the Cottage isn't - and doesn't feel like - a basement. It's just the way it's built into the hillside. Second, the dad that occupied the Cottage was a light sleeper, and we received no reports of the full (of 9-12 year old girls) Eagle's Nest crew waking them up. The living room was nice, the bedroom secluded, and the kitchen and eating area ample for 2 adults and 2 more children.
We had the best weekend and beautiful wedding with our friends and family! We wanted a place where our friends and family could spend time together, have fun, and see us get married, and the Camp was perfect.
We had a blast! The pool and waterslide were definitely the highlights. My husband had an awesome "bachelor party" playing games on the athletic fields and in the gym with his friends. Our outside ceremony was beautiful and the reception in the Social Hall was great. The staff at Camp was extremely flexible and accommodating. We even had fireworks at the end of the night!
About 60 people who attended our 80 person wedding stayed at the Camp with us and enjoyed the bonfire late into the night after the reception was over.
Everyone LOVED the camp. All our single friends want to get married there and my husband's family wants to have reunions!
Thank you Gaia, Sarah, Rodrigo and Michael, for all your help with planning and setting up for the day! I can't imagine a more perfect day!
