Newly renovated and first year to be leased out, this SPACIOUS 66 sq.m. (710 sq.ft) 1BR apartment w/ parking is perfect for week long vacations, business trips, visiting family in Manila, and temporary lodging for relocated executives.
The property is in the heart of Manila's CBD, the Rockwell Center. It is about 20 minutes away from the airport and a few minutes away from all the notable places the urban Manila can offer.
It is conveniently situated beside a luxury mall, the Powerplant Mall. The Powerplant Mall houses about 30 restaurants from casual dining to fine dining, and a lot of shopping with international brands like Zara, Y3 and other local favorites. The Powerplant Mall is patronized mainly by the upper income market of Manila.
The Rockwell Center is pretty much a self contained community. I personally never find the need to leave the area. If you want more shopping though, about 10 minutes away by car is the Greenbelt Mall, Mall of Asia (20 mins) and Shangrila Plaza Mall (15 mins) and Megamall (15 mins) on the other side. There are also a lot of restaurant choices close by.
This corner unit commands 2 views of the city. If you like the sun, you'll get a lot of it in this apartment.
The real advantage in staying in my apartment is the expansive space (66 sqm/ 710 sq ft). Not all 1BR's in Rockwell are created equal. ;) If you're a frequent traveller like me, you'd know that having good space matters, more so if you're staying for more than 5 days.
This unit is value for money for an exclusive area such as Rockwell. A 60 sqm at a nearby Serviced Apartment will cost you around $170/night, and I guarantee you, my unit is still even better.
If you're not familiar with Rockwell, guests who have stayed here choose this apartment because of its close proximity to the Powerplant Mall (close like a minute's walk away, with even a basement access to the mall.)
Why at my apartment? Here's why..
The apartment, being a corner unit, has a sweeping view of Metro Manila. The unit is decorated with Asian pieces I've accumulated in my years of travel.
The living room - I have 2 couches in the living room. This is very convenient if you have guests visiting to entertain. One of the couches can convert to a bed. The living room has a surround audio system for ambient music as well as a flat screen tv. Fully air-conditioned with 2 units of AC.
The bedroom - The queen size bed has a memory foam, a comforter and 4 soft pillows. You'll surely have a good night's sleep. The roman shades are all black-out curtains perfect for transitioning sleeping cycles from guest from a different time zone. There is a balcony in the bedroom too where smoking is allowed.
The bathroom- The bathroom has both hot and cold water. The toilet has a bidet. Basic toiletries and bath towels are provided for. Whatever you expect to find in a hotel bathroom, I've provided for in my apartment.
The kitchen - This is a fully functioning kitchen. There is a refrigerator, a stove, an oven, a toaster, a blender, a microwave oven and a coffee machine. Plates and utensils for four are provided. A basic cooking set is also available.
Laundry - A washer/ dryer machine is provided for in the unit. However I would still recommend you use the 2 laundry shops at the ground floor for ease.
Internet- Cable internet is complementary.
Balcony - The unit comes with a balcony that can be accessed through the bedroom. From the balcony, you will get an unobstructed view of the Manila skyline. I allow smoking at the balcony.
Gym - Guests can have an access to the exclusive Rockwell Club gym for a fee.
Pool - There's a classy pool you can take a dip in at the building. (Please refer to the photo section.) There are also tanning beds in this area of the building for the sun-lovers.
(This property is not available for yearly rentals. For advance bookings 3 months and above, I allow to split the payments into 2. 50% upon reservation, 50% a month before arrival. Cleaning fee of $50 is only applicable for stays less than 10 days.)

No problems at all. While I didn't launch an FBI/NBI search of the place for dust, there was nothing that jumped out to me as a problem. 5 out of 5
Place is described accurately in the description. No problems here. 5 out of 5.
While Marlon was away during my stay, he responded in a timely manner to all my questions and requests. It was just as good as having him there. For any other issues needing face-to-face, his assistant was useful. 5 out of 5.
Can't really beat it. Sure hotels are nice and who doesn't love a a 1000($19) peso burger, but these hotels get expensive after a while. Save yourself the money and spend it on your airfare. The room was well worth it. 5 out of 5
Location: This being my first time staying in Rockwell, I find it difficult to rank this. It was nice having a mall and laundry shop withing walking distance. I thankfully didn't have to test the claim of Rockwell not having any brown/black-outs.
I'll give it 5 out of 5 due to not having any issues caused by the owner/room. Manila/Makati traffic is going to get you no matter what.
Experience: 5 out of 5. There is nothing substantial enough to warrant a lower score.
Cinema in PowerPlant mall is a plus.
The restaurants in the mall and outside were just ok. There is a pancake house and starbucks before you enter the mall.
We caught some of the rain from the typhoon which didn't give us any issues.
There is a balcony we could smoke on (its not big, but it does the job).
The 7/11 right outside the complex was very useful for medicine/food/drinks/etc.
Bring some towels. There are some in the room, but with the wife and one extra, it wasn't enough for us.
Guards were friendly and helpful.
I believe this is my fault: I had conversations with Marlon about where to park and he and his assistant worked it out with the building for a parking spot. Upon entering the room, the welcome sheet/paper called out a different spot. Marlon confirmed the spot he mentioned in our conversations as the correct spot. So, go with what Marlon says - although the welcome sheet did give me a moment of uncertainty.
Internet was good.
Final word: Its worth the money, the stay was pleasant, and the people good. I recommend this location/room and would use it again.
