The large Cottage apt. (the larger 1/2 of the house) at Holiday Farm is a gorgeous place to spend the month, week or a mini-break weekend. Centered in the heart of a real, working farm there are miles of wooded trails and farm roads right outside the door. You can wander the farm, enjoy seasonal sports activities from cross-country skiing to mountain biking or you can simply relax as you take in the breath-taking views.

Located just outside of Pittsfield, you are less than fifteen minutes away from a bustling city where you can enjoy the day at the Berkshire Museum or (a little further out) explore Hancock Shaker Village, take in a show at Tanglewood or see what’s new at MassMOCA.

Perfect Spring Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We will definitely be back! Even with cold, snowy weather, my son said this was his favorite place. Not just his favorite vacation...his favorite place! We enjoyed waking up and having a big breakfast (with delicious syrup from the farm) that we made in the big, well-appointed kitchen and then walking down to the barn to say good morning to the animals. April is a great time to visit because there were quite a few new baby animals. Next time we come, we will hopefully have better weather so we can take advantage of the trails on the property. Even with snow coming down, we were very comfortable in doors, with a beautiful view of the farm from the big living room window. The Crane family and everyone on the farm is very kind and welcoming. We hope to be back again soon.

Great Farm Experience

  • 5 of 5

If you’re looking for a casual and fun country place to bring children, this fits the bill. Wonderful people and lots of animals. The house is spacious with a ton of beds. I liked the community vibe - lots of locals work in or stop by the farm and store, the high school track team (I assumed) runs down the driveway and onto nearby paths, and we even saw a local father and son duo fishing in the pond. My daughter loved waking up to watch the horses eat their breakfast hay - right from our bedroom window.

One of My Favorite Places in the World

  • 5 of 5

We've been back to the farm for four summers in a row now and it's a truly magical place. The kids run around, catch frogs from the pond, collect eggs from the chickens, feed the goats, and play Harry Potter beneath the crabapple tree. Adults wander and make fabulous meals from farm's produce and meat, bought just down the lane at the farm store. Everyone involved in the farm is very kind and any small issues that come up get addressed right away. We love the farm and are so glad that it's become a summer tradition.
