About Wendy Sherrill

Our cabin has been in the family for more than 45 years, purchased as a vacation property by our father, Charles B. Sherrill, Sr. The property consists of almost 400 acres of land with this cabin sitting on the 150 acre parcel. Our property is now owned by the children of CB Sherrill who grew up visiting and enjoying all that the Pleasant Valley has to offer. This has always been, and continues to be a favorite place to vacation or enjoy a relaxing weekend with our families. Since we now stay in the cabin that sits on the highway we decided to rent the back cabin for those that wanted to enjoy the area in a home-like setting.

Why Wendy Sherrill chose Arizona

Imagine sitting on the porch, enjoying a cup of coffee and listening to the wind whisper through the tall pines of the high desert, watching the elk as they wander back into the surrounding forest during the early morning hours or enjoying a quiet evening watching the sun set on Potato Butte. These are just a few of the things we love about our cabin and the area surrounding it.

What makes this cabin unique

There is plenty of hiking in the mountains surrounding the area and ATV trails into the canyons. Enjoy the fresh air and quiet relaxing atmosphere that the Pleasant Valley has to offer.

Guestbook comments from the manager

We loved our stay at your cabin with absolutely breathtaking views, well-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and furnishings. The fenced yard and covered porch are awesome, too! Did I mention clean? It is very clean! We will be back soon.

Nice view of the surrounding mountains. The designated sport for cam fire are the perfect thought to end your days. The owners keep plenty of fire wood. Good destination to get away from the routine. We plan on returning.

June 2017 Stay

  • 5 of 5

Cabin was very clean and fully stocked. This was our 3rd stay at the cabin and as usual it was very quiet and private. We enjoyed the days. It was one of the hottest weeks in AZ history and without AC it was a little warm late in the afternoons, but cooled down quickly as the sun dropped. Definitely looking forward to yet another stay in the Fall.

Best of Both Worlds

  • 5 of 5

Went to Young for a photoshoot and had a busy day but was able to escape to a quiet nestled ranch house to enjoy nature around me...Woke up to birds chirping and elk grazing in the mornings and see the Milky Way and starry skies at night....definately a repeat in the future.

Wonderfully peaceful and comfortable!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for our anniversary weekend. It was absolutely perfect! So open and peaceful. We hiked around the property with our dog, saw a heard of elk crossing the land one morning and enjoyed sitting out on the porch listening to the nothingness. The home was clean, plenty of linens and kitchen had all the pots, pans, dishes and utensils necessary. We used the gas grill too for some good steaks and shrimp! Wendy was quick to reply to our questions and very kind. We will definitely go back. Thanks Wendy!

Excellent getaway for people with pets!!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here for five days in October 2016 and we had the best time. The cabin is fully loaded with everything you need to be comfortable. And out dogs loved playing in the fenced yard and taking hikes on the trails right there on the property. The owners could not be nicer or more accommodating. Young is beautiful and quiet with lots of good hiking trails. If you want some peace-and=-quiet in a beautiful setting and a friendly place for your dogs, this is the place. Just a short 3 hour drive from the Valley!
