The home boasts an upside-down design, with the living area on the second floor providing stunning nature views. Surrounded by lush, tropical foliage and tastefully landscaped, the home exudes a colorful and contemporary tropical vibe. The kitchen is fully modernized with stainless steel appliances and granite countertops.

Located on the secluded North Captiva Island, this vacation rental can only be accessed by ferry, private boat, or small plane. The island is part of the Lee Island Coast in Southwest Florida, and boasts a laid-back atmosphere reminiscent of old Florida. It is a car-free zone, with sandy native trails perfect for golf cart or bicycle exploration. The island offers a variety of amenities to suit your family's needs, including private club pools, hot tub, tennis court, half basketball court, playground, kayaks, bikes, beach chairs, and umbrella.

While on the island, be sure to dine at one of the delicious local restaurants, such as Mangos Bar and Grill, Barnicle's, or Over the Waterfront.

Wonderful island experience

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was more than happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We rented this house for the 4th of July long weekend and had a really great experience. The house is in very good condition (everything works), it is clean and even though it is not that close to the beach - given that this is a small island - the location still good, just 2 short blocks from the beach. Beds and rooms were comfortable and spacious, great for relaxing after a day at the sea.

Cozy house for 6

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house is well located close to the Club and close to the beach. House needs improvement, it has old decor (mainly bathrooms) and kitchen is not fully equipped. Great barbecue grill. Master Bathroom is downstairs and second bathroom is upstairs. This is not a house for a 7 night stay as required.

Okay stay but

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house is okay for one family and one or two children because there is only only bathroom on the first floor where bedrooms and located and it is only accessed through the master bedroom. The second bath is upstairs on the second floor. There were ants and termites but the management said that the owner did not have a termite bond so they management company couldn’t do anything. The doors were broken off of the laundry room and there was occasionally water in front of the refrigerator which was strange since there is no ice maker. The house is close to the beach and to the club pool that’s a plus. Overall, it’s an okay house if you can cope with the bathroom situation. It was relatively clean and the rate was at least reasonable for North Captiva. Don’t order your groceries from Publix. The chicken was literally rotten and the strawberries were growing mold like a science fair project. Publix “forgot” one cooler and 2 bags of groceries when we picked up and we didn’t notice until we unpacked the bags that the Publix put in our pick up cart.

A relaxing time...

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Weather was coolish, so no swimming, but the beach was still great. Blue Macaw was very clean and reasonably well-appointed. Close to beach and ferry etc. A great time was had exploring and wandering around the island.

Neglected Blue Macaw Charming home

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We first arrived at night, and was given a dirty 4 person golf cart with one headlight, NOT the lifted 6 person cart as advertised in multiple listings. We asked for another, and got a similar 4 person cart that broke down the next day. Finally, on the third day we got a working cart, but it was still only a 4 seat cart. The lifted, 6 seat cart that we were supposed to receive was locked up and in filthy condition at the house. We were told it didn't come with the house. Unacceptable. Next the feces. The cap on the plumbing outside was off and all the waste was coming out of the hole right next to the grill and seating area. We called multiple times and it was NEVER cleaned the entire stay there. Unacceptable. The hot water heater was broke the entire stay there as well. We had TWO maintenance guys over to try and fix it, but both said they couldn't and would get someone else out there. Never got fixed the entire stay there. 3 out of the 4 tv's wouldn't work. The utility guy couldn't get them to work either. Many other smaller issues, but none as bad.The Island was nice. Some of the people were nice. The location was very nice. However, the lack of good customer service, the NEGLECT of the property managers, and the ignored emails to try and right this are totally unacceptable and I could NOT recommend this resort to anyone.
