The best way to begin a journey through New England

  • 5 of 5

This was our first visit as a family to New England. It as exciting to start our trip off by staying on a houseboat. This was a good location to explore Boston from. We were close to the airport but the planes were not a noise problem for us. We were a walk away from the bus stop that connects you easily with the metro. Plenty of good places to get to easily.

Well worth it!

  • 5 of 5

The Blue Pearl was definitely a unique experience for us Coloradan's. The boat was perfect for my husband, myself, and our kids (15 and 18). It is very clean and has everything you need for your stay. We stayed a week and used only public transportation and a few times Uber, it was super easy to get around. It was nice to get away from the city after the hustle of sight seeing all day. On a few nights we would get back early enough to watch the sunset with a drink on the upper deck.

Deb was quick to get back to any questions that we had.

The only draw backs were when the planes came over, which wasn't very often, they were really loud. I had read this on previous reviews so it wasn't a surprise. Also, wifi was not great. Streaming is not an option and would have been nice to have a better connection, but didn't take away from our vacation on a houseboat in Boston harbor.

Overall, would have not have stayed anywhere else in Boston.

Thanks Deb for sharing your piece of Boston with our family.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the great review. We just added a jetpack for WIFI which is a much more reliable internet connection although still not recommended for streaming movies.

Loved being on the water. Surprisingly stable. Internet was available but a bit weak.

Very clean and very well taken care of. A way to wind down after a day of touring Boston

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed coming back from a long day of touring Boston. The houseboat is very clean, comfortable and well stocked to cook meals. The only thing I would complain about is the noise from airplanes flying directly over early in the morning. There are other road and industrial noises but hey, it's Boston. The boat itself is fantastic.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the nice review. Logan shifts the planes from different runways depending on wind direction. Sometimes it can be days before they fly over our location.

Great spot off the beaten path in Boston

  • 5 of 5

We stayed on the Blue Pearl for a week to run the Boston marathon. We had an excellent time. The houseboat has everything you need with decent sized gallery and very functional bathroom. There is not laundry on board, but there are plenty of drop off facilities for laundry in the neighborhood. Our kids loved the loft and the balcony out front.

It is a short walk to the bus stop that gets you to the T and, from there, anywhere in Boston. You definitely know that you are staying near a busy port, but we felt it added to the ambiance of staying on the water. We will definitely try to find the Blue Pearl next time we are in Boston! Thanks so much.

Totally unique experience!

  • 5 of 5

A must-do for water lovers! Gorgeous sunset views. We watched the big boats come through the raised bridge. Perfect location for a Boston visit. Directions were crystal clear... the houseboat was super easy to find. The kids went bananas for the loft space. Truly a great family memory.
