LOCATION

The new Convention Center/Blagden Alley area radiates urban cool. You'll be just 5 blocks away from landmarks like the National Portrait Gallery and the National Museum of American Art. The White House and the National Gallery of Art on the National Mall are both an 11-block walk. If you are here for a concert or sporting event the Verizon Center is just 6 blocks away. You'll be able to run most errands on foot, not to mention walking to a variety of really wonderful and interesting restaurants and cafes (check out Table, Rogue 24, and Corduroy). There's also a Giant supermarket two blocks away if you'd prefer to eat at home in your peaceful space.

Do you like to shop? The CityCenterDC complex boasts a host of temptations, including Kate Spade, Allen Edmonds, Hugo Boss--and a Tumi store if you need additional luggage for new purchases! You'll also be walking distance from several popular downtown DC neighborhoods, including the lively Blagden Alley Historic area, Penn Quarter, DuPont Circle, 14th and U.

Blagden Alley residents embrace the historic roots of the neighborhood; the convenience of the new modern convention center and the Metro; and the chicness of this neighborhood.

TRANSPORTATION

You won't need a car. The Mt Vernon - Convention Center Metro is 1 and a half blocks away. Union Station, nearby, is a transportation hub for the mid-Atlantic region. The station contains two train lines (AMTRAK; and MARC trains to and from Maryland). Also accessible are the Metro's Red Line; Metrobuses; the "Circulator" Bus; tour operators; rental cars; and bikes.

If you do have a car with you, we offer off street parking for a small additional nightly fee.

Here for a convention, wife visiting friends and enjoying city. This was a great home base. Be sure to explore the coffee shop, restaurant, and speakeasy in the alley out the back door.

Reviewer Comments:

We enjoyed this place quite a bit. We had a shower curtain rod break and there was a guy over the next day to fix it. That was the only real problem. There were four of us staying there for ten days and two more for a few days. It was too much for six, but it worked well for a family of four. There are grocery stores, pharmacies, coffee shop, food, and the Metro stop all within a few blocks. Between Uber and the Metro we never needed a car. We even took the Metro from the airport to the place. We had guests decide they were coming in and not enough blankets. The owner had sheets and blankets shipped to the unit from Amazon. That was awesome and appreciated. The only downside was a tiny bit of noise above, but that was only at bed time and then just until the folks upstairs got settled into bed. It wouldn't deter me though. I would gladly live in this unit and recommend it to friends or family.

Reviewer Comments:

Clean, well equipped apartment. Very nice urban neighborhood, easy access to everywhere including walk to Chinatown and great dining. Favorites were Chaplin's and Zaytinya. Short walk to the Metro. Furnishings were comfortable. Only drawback was high-heels clopping across the upstairs neighbor's floor at all hours.

Reviewer Comments:

This was our first family trip to DC. We are a family of 5 and fit very comfortably in this apartment. I was pleasantly surprised at how clean everything was and it was well supplied with dishes/utensils. The location is amazingly close to the Metro and just a few blocks from the grocery store. The only thing I didn't like was the gas smell between the gate and front door area, I would say that was the only thing that could use some improvement. Overall this is definitely a great place and hope to return in the future. Thank you for sharing this beauty!
