WHAT TO EXPECT: This light-filled, lower-ground floor apartment with private gated entrance is part of a listed historic building that sits opposite the private garden of Eccleston Square. Known for its diverse collection of rare and tender plants, this garden square surpasses most in London, including the one featured in the popular movie 'Notting Hill'. Everything needed for day-to-day living . . . cafes, pubs, restaurants, supermarkets, convenience stores, green markets, bakeries, health food shops, pharmacies, dry cleaners, and international newsstands . . . are all within a 2-10 minute walk.

PROPERTY DESCRIPTION: Greenhaven is newly refurbished by European architectural & design firms, air-conditioned/centrally heated and fully-furnished with a mix of contemporary and antique décor. By London standards it's very large (600 square feet) and includes living room/dining room area, galley kitchen, bedroom and bath. The apartment is designed with the idea of bringing the look and feel of the garden inside with a calm natural palette sparked by carefully placed bursts of color. Residential design and decor is my passion, and I strive to provide dwelling places that are more expressive, more beautiful than other vacation rentals. I live part-time in all these places. So each functions as a 'home' -- not just a rental property. The hallmark of each residence is its personal style, which reflects its unique character and location. For example, my London apartment, which opens to the beautiful private gardens of Eccleston, is designed with the idea of bringing the look and feel of the garden inside with a calm natural palette sparked by carefully placed bursts of color. My philosophy is that I would never rent a property that I would not stay in myself. Why Paula Harvan chose Westminster & West End

I've lived in London for a few years, and I wanted to find a location that combined all of its best aspects at my doorstep: proximity to major sites, transportation, shopping, dining, culture and entertainment, but with a traditional London feel. Eccleston Square is it -- with an added bonus: the private garden that's only accessible to residents and their guests.

From the outside of Greenhaven, the view is a scaled-down version of New York's Central Park. You see the upper branches of trees, swirls of clematis, heady explosions of climbing roses and, here and there, the opposite side of Eccleston Square, London SW1 -- one of London's most posh addresses. When you get into the garden, you wouldn't know you’re in the heart of a world-renowned international city. When you smell the flowers and hear the birds sing, London seems to disappear -- yet all of its wonderful sights, sounds, tastes and experiences are right outside the garden gates.

Eccleston Square came about when town planner Thomas Cubitt, who developed it in 1845, had the idea of gathering everyone's back gardens together. Around the periphery, a shady walk takes you though arches of wisteria and clematis. For garden buffs, there are several unique specimen plants, including a handkerchief tree from China -- and art buffs will enjoy the irises, some of which came from Monet's garden in Giverny, France. The Garden Square has won many awards not only for its botanical beauty, but also for its well-integrated features, such as several brick patios, glass conservatory, tennis court, and play and BBQ areas.

Fantastic location and charming garden!

This flat was well appointed, clean and most importantly in a perfect location to easily catch a bus or the tube. Our family of 4 was delighted with the comfort of this apartment and the amenities that it offered. Our kids especially enjoyed the garden across the street.

Beautiful, well appointed and centrally located for walking, bus or tube transport.

This is a superb location for London holiday. The apartment is perfect for a couple. Good for four if you're family. We enjoyed the private gardens, well appointed kitchen. Restaurants and grocery stores are all within walking distance.

Easy walk to bus and tube station. Close to many London landmarks. Simply a great place to stay. We will be back!

This flat is ideally located, close to Victoria Station and within a reasonable walk of many desired locations. It is very well-appointed, with lovely bedding and welcome amenities. I slept on the pull-out couch and it was very comfortable. We were quite delighted to have a Nespresso machine and milk frother at our disposal each morning. :-) Paula met us at the apartment upon arrival and walked the neighbourhood with us, helping us to become oriented and giving us a sense of where shops, restaurants and transportation options were located. I would definitely stay at Greenhaven again.

My family of 4 had to cancel our reservation last minute — less than 24 hours before we we due to arrive at the apartment. Unlike other vacation rentals we considered, Greenhaven offers an extremely liberal and generous cancellation policy. Within several hours of notifying Paula, the owner, of our change of plans, we received a refund and a cancellation credit so we were not out of pocket. I know that with most other vacation rentals (and hotels, as a matter of fact) we would have forfeited 100% of our rental fee. We were always please with our selection of Greenhaven as the apartment and the amenities it provides looks amazing. But now we’re doubly pleased. We can look forward to rebooking instead of stressing about losing our rental fee. I recommend that you book this apartment — unbelievable guest service from an super responsive owner.

The little stairs down to the apartment made us a bit nervous, especially when wet, but other than that it's a perfect place to stay. Nice and close to everything! Very clean and well kept. Paula and her entire team are fantastic! You really could not ask for better service. We used the car service Paula recommended and they were top notch too. We ended up using them many times for travel to areas outside London. Cheaper than a taxi and great service. Suresh was our driver and we loved him.

What a way to turn 60!

Having a warm and convenient “home away from home” in London made our weeklong trip from our Chicago home all the more special. Greenhaven in Pimlico and incredibly convenient to Victoria Station could not have been more lovely or enjoyable. The flat was all that Paula represented on VRBO. The flat is located on an exquisite and quiet street. Though we never had the chance to meet her personally, Paula was prompt in all our communications and walked us through our planning, questions, reservation, and arrival details. The flat is truly comfortable, but more than that. She provides the seemingly little things that added up to made us feel truly welcome. The minor inconvenience of some blown lights was remedied creatively with full explanation…and a special treat. My husband and I were in London to celebrate my 60th. Some nights we stayed in shopping at the local grocery and cooking in the well-equipped kitchen, while other nights we enjoyed nearby restaurants. The flat was a great place to relax if we wanted to stay in and perfectly located to access all that London has to offer. We certainly recommend Greenhaven to all who are looking for a place to rent for a London vacation.
