Owner provides more than enough

  • 4 of 5

This is not a high end and high maintenance log home, but it makes vacation affordable especially when you travel with few other families that some aren't willing to pay high price for the vacation.

There are so many pots and pans, plates and cups to accommodate everyone's needs, even griddle available for outdoor grill. Extra propane tank for outdoor grill if it runs out. Enough supply for at least 2-3 days in paper towels, toilet tissue, even tissue box. Owner also provides shampoo and body wash, unlimited firewood, for indoor wood fireplace and outdoor fire pit. Though it will be nice to have little more lighting or light bulbs available.

Owner took extra step to provide all these little things that save us a trip to have to run to store during the vacation. There are also enough TV programs available, and table games, as well as outdoor space, to keep young kids busy.

I like to thank Kathryn to let us use her home. We all had a good time and great memory during the stay.

Cozy and perfect mountain base

  • 5 of 5

Six of us (2 couples and 2 singles) came up for a weekend of outdoor activities, and this cabin was perfect for our needs - plenty of space to sleep, hang out with a nice kitchen, dining area, living room, and even a grill and rocking chairs on the porch! We spent each evening around the firepit watching the stars come out. Absolutely gorgeous location and central to anything you want to do in the mountains. Katie is friendly and provided clear instructions for our stay, couldn't ask for better!

Guys' Weekend in the Mountains

  • 5 of 5

This is an amazing property, and Owner's communication was outstanding the entire time. Our only regret is that we did not have more time. This is a picturesque "cabin in the woods." I booked this as a venue for my buddy's bachelor weekend. There is so much to do in the area, but ultimately the fire pit outside in the cool mountain nights was the biggest hit. If you are looking for good value in a NH rental, this is the place for you. Great for adults looking to get away, or family trips (plenty of sleeping area). A 5 star experience for sure.

Private, quiet and secluded cabin

  • 5 of 5

We went up with 12 friends for a weekend get away. The place is very private, with a massive deck and yard that allowed us to play all different lawn games. The grill worked awesome the whole time up there, and there was plenty of room for everyone to sleep. My only regret was that we didn't go down to the lake sooner, it was awesome.

Nice Cabin

  • 3 of 5

We enjoyed our family time there! Cabin is spacious! Nice area, a lot of trees, dirt road to get to the house. They have a fire pit and we used it Friday evening, made some smores and enjoyed some cold beer. They had a wide variety of board games available that made our rainy Saturday night in a lot of fun. We did feel like we weren't there enough time, a weekend is too short, we basically were in the house only Saturday, with the late check in time and the early check out we didn't get to spend the time we would have wanted to in the house. FYI It was hot and the fans they had are very small so sleeping was a bit hard with the summer heat. If you go in the summer bring a bigger fan since there is no a/c.

Overall we did love our time away from the daily grind and we enjoyed the fresh air in the woods. If you are looking to be secluded and with a big family, this is a good spot. While I loved the appearance of the log cabin, we did feel it needed some TLC. The grounds were not kept and it seemed like no one had been there in a long time. They had stressed to us to clean "messes" we would make on the grill but the grill was already dirty and we had to clean it ourselves before using and after.

I've rented many places before that we loved and gave it 5 stars but here I went with a 3 star rating because we felt it needs a little bit more attention. Location wise: it is a nice, convenient and quiet location near a lot of places to go sightseeing and do fun activities in towns nearby.
