Wonderful Log Cabin With A Loft And Hot Tub In A Private Mountain Setting

Nestled in the Smoky Mountains, this private cabin with loft is perfect for the family get away. The Family Cabin is located on Howells at the Moon Farm, which is a 13 acre old tobacco farm. The master bedroom has a king size bed with luxury linens and a fireplace to set a romantic mood. The loft has two twin beds, so bring the kids for a great family getaway. PS2 and games are included. The kitchen is fully stocked, and even has spices and oil to cook up a great meal. The living area has plenty of seating and a large, flat screen TV with Roku, antennae, and free Netflix movies. We offer free WiFi, as well. Your cabin comes with a huge front porch with rockers, so soak up the sounds of nature that surrounds you in the forest. The hot tub and fire pit will provide plenty of hours of rest and relaxation. This property is unique; although you are tucked on the side of a mountain with plenty of privacy, you are minutes from a grocery store and all the amenities the area has to offer.

About Judy Howell

John and Judy Howell were working for the government in the DC area, and got married in Maggie Valley. They fell in love with the area and began to look for property. They feel completely blessed to have found this beautiful slice of heaven, which they named Howells at the Moon Farm.

Judy Howell purchased this cabin in 2012

Why Judy Howell chose Maggie Valley/Waynesville Area

This property is so unique. It was an old farm and in the same family until early 2000. It's on 13 acres, surrounded by meadows and forests, with spectacular mountain views. You will feel like you are isolated in nature, but are in fact minutes away from towns, shopping and activities. It is, truly, the best of both worlds. This property has hiking trails, long range mountain views, mountain streams, and privacy.

What makes this cabin unique

From the front porch of the cabin, you can sit with a glass of wine or hot cup of cocoa, and gaze at the mist in the woods and hear the leaves rustling. Just listen to the sounds of nature and watch the fireflies dance in the evening. You will forget how hectic life can be when everything here is so tranquil. The cabin is cozy and comfortable; it's charm and hominess is to be enjoyed by couples, honeymooners, or folks looking to get away. The bedroom is comfy, outfitted in soft bed linens. After a day spent hiking or shopping, you will look forward to snuggling up in your nest. The living room has games and cards, but also has TV and wireless internet for times when you want to 'plug back in'. You will love staying here; it's like your home away from home. There are streams on the property, as well as an old barn. The property will delight you and renew your spirit.

Lovely weekend in cozy cabin

  • 5 of 5

We had a very relaxing weekend in the cabin that was only about a 30 minute drive from Asheville. The owners very incredibly helpful with recommendations. The cabin was very well stocked and the driveway was easy to manage. We are planning to visit again!

Me and my wife found this cabin to be truly quite lovely! We would stay again!

The house was a true blessing! The hot tub was already heated for us, though it did not have a gazebo as it was pictured in the ad. The cabin was neat and orderly but could have had a few cobwebs knocked down. The property was truly wonderful with an enticing front yard that looks out into a deep green forest. The stars are incredibly vibrant at night and fun to look at while enjoying an expensive massage hot tub! That made the "did not have a gazebo" A OK! The bed was nice and soft. The loft would be good for children or younger teens. The couch was decent to be honest, it was leather which is nice however it really could've been more comfortable, given the Netflix etc. is only in the living room. It had a nice kitchen with a full size fridge. The porch was not nearly as comfortable as you'd hope a cabin in the woods porch would be, however it was still a very sweet morning coffee spot. Overall the cabin was lovely and quaint with so many fun and mountainous details and my wife and I would absolutely go again to the same spot!

A Little Cabin In the Woods

  • 5 of 5

This is a small cabin perfect for a couple with no more than one or two children. The cabin was clean and well maintained. There were plenty of dishes, cooking utensils and pots and pans. We thought the location was perfect, close to town for shopping and dinning and yet very quiet rural setting. It was a great base to explore the area. The owners are close by if needed, but respect your privacy. We would definitely stay here again if we return to this area.
