Why Grant chose Blakeslee

No matter the season, you will not find a better setting to relax and unwind. With the Lehigh River flowing just below the deck, it's easy to get lost in the beauty of the area. Take in all the Poconos have to offer in every season here at the Lehigh Lodge.

What makes this cabin unique

The Lodge is hidden away well enough to provide peace, quiet, and serenity during your stay, but close to local attractions like Jack Frost and Big Boulder ski resorts, Lake Harmony, golfing, numerous restaurants, and plenty of other sights to see and places to visit.

Perfect Romantic Getaway

  • 5 of 5

The pictures and description do not do the property justice. Place was extremely clean, well equipped and wonderfully warm and comfortable. The decorating is very tasteful and they have done wonders with a small space. The view perched above a bend in the Lehigh River is beautiful. We saw a bald eagle soar by just before we left. We plan on returning for each of the four seasons. Shopping for whatever you need is minutes away.

Absolutely Perfect

  • 5 of 5

My family and I absolutely fell in love with the lodge. The view was unbelieveable and you could hear the river throughout the house. It was so peaceful and relaxing. It was very private but still very close to civilization. There were many places to get a bite to eat and a wawa, Dunkin donuts, and supermarket nearby. There were also many parks in the area. But honestly, we could have just stayed in the cabin the whole time and be content. It was PERFECT. It was definitely difficult to leave. We will recommend it to anyone looking for a great vacation.

Romantic and peaceful cottage with a killer view!

  • 5 of 5

We just got home from our two day getaway at the Lehigh Lodge. I am not sure I can adequately express how amazing this place is. From the minute you drive up you are transported to another place and time. The lodge is just gorgeous, inside and out, really took my breath away when I walked in. From the beautiful copper sink, huge stained glass window and leaded glass front cabinets in the kitchen to the cool pebble shower and stone sink in the bathroom, everything was simply perfect. And then, then you are drawn out back to the screened porch that stretches across the entire length of the house, over looking a picture perfect view of a fast water bend in the Lehigh River. Everything was so clean and the couch and bed were very comfortable. My husband and I had every intention of going out to dinner each night, maybe doing a couple of day trips or hikes but honestly, we just didn't want to leave! Sitting on the back porch listening to the river or sitting on the comfy couch in front of a roaring fire is all we wanted to do! We did manage to drag ourselves away long enough to have breakfast at the Chat n' Chew nearby (very good, great service) and check out the historic district in Jim Thorpe (storybook pretty) but hurried home for lunch on "our porch"! We only had a few small issues; the kitchen knives and the veggie peeler are very dull, we could not find any measuring spoons and the large eye on the stove never got hot. We would have loved a little information sheet on the history of the lodge itself and a guest book would be a nice touch.

That being said, I really want to mention that being able to walk in to our little place on arrival (it was open, key on the table), have absolute privacy with no interaction from the owner the entire time (but I knew if we needed something he was just a call away) and when our stay was sadly over, just pack up, put the key on the table and drive away was a huge bonus. It was like having our very own vacation home. This was our first time using VRBO and we are so pleased. Thank you so much Grant for giving us the opportunity to experience your beautiful little lodge. We are so grateful, and are already looking forward to our next incredible visit to the little cottage on the river.

Grant was a wonderful host! The stay couldn't have gone any better. We had three cottages that were clean, nicely decorated, and well equipped. Thank you so much for making the trip.

Amazing View!

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at the Lehigh Lodge. Cabin was tastefully decorated and the outside porch absolutely lovely. We spent a lot of time on that porch. Not as much to do in the area but very scenic and a great place to relax and unwind. Only thing I might add that could enhance your stay is to add some outside chairs, like Adirondack chairs to sit in around the fire pit. We had asked to use the portable fire pit but we never used it because we had no where to sit except on some steps outside the patio. Also, we had to clean out about 10 inches of soot in the bottom of the grill that was covering the air holes at bottom of grill and not allowing us to get enough air circulation for good cooking which was left in it from previous inhabitants. Once we did that, the grill worked fine. I would just be sure to clean out that soot once in awhile. Grass was a little long around the cabin as well. Nothing I've mentioned would prevent me from coming back, however, as stated, would make for a better experience. Thank you Grant for our stay!

Where do you live?

My husband and I were looking for a peaceful weekend away and that it just what we got. The Lodge was clean and decorated so cute! Sounds silly, but I also loved the dishes and coffee cups. Whether we were sitting on the porch, sipping hot coffee or relaxing with a glass of wine enjoying the fire we were smiling. We are already looking at our calendar planning our return trip.
