I was born in the Tampa Bay area and love showing off my home town to guests. My husband is from Minnesota and really appreciates the warm winters Florida has to offer. We've been married over 30 years with 2 grown children and our greatest passion is traveling. As such, we've learned to appreciate a great vacation and place to rest your head versus just a good one.
Randy and Alison Tietz purchased this condo in 2014
We LOVE the Gulfport area and before buying in this location we frequently came just to enjoy the atmosphere and chill out on the beach. Just Yelp this area for restaurants and any number of top notch places are within walking distance of where you will be staying. Every first Friday and third Saturday Gulfport's Beach Blvd is home to an Art Walk featuring many local artists.
We love this condo not just for the close proximity to the beach, restaurants and shops but also for the private courtyard and pool. Imagine spending your evenings by the pool sipping margaritas and listening to Jimmy Buffet on the radio...a little slice of heaven.
We.had an awesome stay at the condo. Clean, efficient ,had everything you need. The location was close to everything; restaurants, water, proximity to St Pete. Well worth it!!
This little studio was really cute and the area was unique and fun and safe with so many good, unusual restaurants within walking distance. It's right on a beach and near a pier. As many bicycles and dogs as cars on the road I think. The price was right and the rental had everything we needed. Our only complaint was the topper on the bed was terribly soft and we were used to a very firm bed at home. But we thoroughly enjoyed our stay nonetheless. It was close to everything we wanted to do -- Johns Pass, Fort Desoto Park, downtown St Petersburg, St Petes Beach and not far from Anna Maria Island.
Lovely apartment across from the Boca Ciega Bay with private shaded patio. We had coffee there in the morning and drinks before dinner. The apartment has everything you need and was very cute and clean in red, white, and blue. We loved it!!! The pool was nice and had comfortable lounge chairs and a table with chairs where we often sat after dinner. It was the perfect vacation spot with great restaurants, cute shops, and live music the next block over. The owners let us know they were available if we needed anything (we didn't) - Highly recommend!!!
I had the pleasure of staying here in the beginning of October for 9 days, and I have to admit this is a hidden gem in the St. Pete area. This place had everything I needed for my time there. The only thing I had to worry about was the simple thought of, "What should I eat tonight?" It's amazingly close to various little restaurants and right across from a little beach park area. The room itself is very well kept and I didn't have a hard time keeping it clean. The owners are very accommodating, even when I lost my phone and house key-code, they happily replaced it with a brand new code. An excellent place to stay for anyone visiting the Tampa/St. Petersburg area.
Found this studio to be as described. It is on the first floor in back unit (through side gate). We had no problem getting into condo & used front entrance of pool area without problem. While you don't have a view of the beach (across the street) from inside the condo (no balcony), you can sit out by the pool & watch the activity. The pool is wonderful - it never seemed busy & was so relaxing to just float around in after a day of sightseeing.
The condo looks exactly like its photos. The first picture of the bed/sofa area is on opposite wall from the second picture of TV & table. Kitchen has stovetop only (as mentioned in listing). Fan worked fine as did AC. Neither were especially loud. If I was coming back, I'd probably bring a few extra washcloths & a dishtowel or two. The condo was clean.
The location is perfect. It is right across from public beach so there is always some activity going on there from beach volleyball to swimming. It does not seem overly congested though. And you are within a block or two of the shopping/arts district which we enjoyed immensely. It was nice to order a beer or some wine while eating out & not have to worry about driving somewhere afterwards. There was music most nights at one place or another. Just very laid back & enjoyable.
The other renters/owners were very nice & helpful, offering some great suggestions on restaurants to try & places to see. Also found that Gulfport is in a great location to visit Tampa or St. Petersburg, go south to Bradenton (sp?) or Sarasota, across bay to St. Pete Beach, Treasure Island, etc or north to Dunedin or Clearwater.
Overall we had a great time & would stay here again without hesitation.
This property has a lot of potential because the location is really great but it lacked in areas that would be fairly easy to fix. First of all, it was not clean. The microwave, stove top, refrigerator, and kitchen sink all needed a thorough cleaning. There was no cutting board or chopping knife and no bathroom washcloths. The air conditioner was extremely noisy, sounded like a jet, and was right next to the bed. We didn't get a good night's sleep the entire time because of this and the fact that it was either too hot or too cold - it couldn't seem to retain the coolness for any length of time. Also, the ceiling fan had a high pitched wine so that couldn't be used. On the plus side, it had a washer and dryer in the condo and the shower water pressure was good. And as I stated, you can't beat the location.
