Why Lori chose Asheville Area

The cottage was recently built and has a beautiful setting so private but close in to town as well.

What makes this cottage unique

The cottage is a unique blend of Arts and Crafts style with a large covered porch that you can sit and look at the views of the mountains. The property has a small pond with fish in it that you can enjoy. A horse pasture in the back borders the property.

Nice place for a weekend getaway

  • 4 of 5

This is a great, cozy cottage/house that was great for a weekend get away for two couples from Columbia, SC. The inside is new and clean, and there is a nice covered porch that is perfect for watching the sunrise with a cup of coffee. Picturesque location nestled in between the foothills, but still convenient to downtown Hendersonville and a pretty easy drive up to Asheville.

The master bedroom/bathroom is very spacious; the second bedroom with the double bed was not as big and comfortable for the second couple, but still nice. Third bedroom would be plenty big for us to bring our kids next time.

Great place, very much enjoyed our stay there.

Family Perfect & Convenient

  • 5 of 5

My family & I loved this home! It was very comfortable for my family of 6. The location was also perfect! You are away from the hustle & bustle but also very close to Walmart, shopping, & snacks. We were able to travel to all the locations very easily on our list. 30 min to DuPont Forest, 15 min to Sieria Navada, 30 min to Downtown Asheville, 30 min to Lake Lure, 20 min to Chimney Rock. Just the perfect location! After a long day of activity we were able to sit out & enjoy the beautiful views on the front port deck! We didn't have to be high in the mountains to enjoy the beauty of North Carolina!

Excellent Stay at the Arts and Crafts Cottage

  • 5 of 5

Three girlfriends found Hendersonville and the property to be a fantastic way to spend a weekend. The house is beautiful - clean, comfortable and situated on property that makes you feel like you are on a retreat far away from everything. The good news is it is close to Hendersonville and in 20 minutes, you can enjoy Asheville too! The owners were a delight to work with and I plan to return for an encore stay!

Great Location for Relaxation and Quiet

  • 4 of 5

Four of us stayed for one week during which the weather was perfect making for a good stay. The home is clean and comfortable with all the necessary items you would expect to find in your home. After dinner one evening the kitchen faucet broke and no water would flow. We called Lori and her husband responded saying that he would come out and have a plumber do repairs the next morning. He came and checked things out and the plumber came early the next day and all was fixed without delay. There is much open space around the cottage which makes for easy walking and peace and quiet, day and night. We found the front porch steps in need of repair as one of the wood steps has rotted out and the handrail is loose. The flower beds could use some weeding. And take note that the bathroom faucets drip outside the basin when turned off...poor design issue.

We drove to Lake Lure and were very disappointed to learn that it is a private body of water with no public access without paying a fee. The one swimming beach was closed (April 20-May1) but charges $8 per person to use. It was not worth the drive alone but the Flower Garden Bridge was a pleasant surprise.

All in all, we enjoyed our stay, no major issues interrupted our time away from the big city.

Very nice house.

  • 4 of 5

I was very impressed starting when we first pulled up. There is a fire pit with chairs all around it. The kitchen is very nice and has everything you could need to cook with. The kitchen is open to the living room and it is very nice and cozy feeling. All the rooms are good sized and clean. Everything was clean. Which made me very happy. The owner was very helpful with my million question since this was my first time using home away.

Just a couple things that could improve on, is if the online description had more then "linens" as what is provided. That way I wouldn't have had to ask as many questions.

Over all a very nice stay.
