This recently constructed modern house has heavy recycled timber beams, solid plastered walls inside and out and timber floors.
The lounge/kitchen space has huge retracting sliding doors that effectively disappear allowing the whole area to open out like a gazebo. The furnishings and kitchenware are bach/retro inspired.
The house is predominantly on one level apart from the loft.
All bedrooms have sea views.
Enjoy breakfast on the deck overlooking the bush and water and dinner from the pizza oven or Asado barbeque on the sun drenched west facing courtyard.
Stroll down the path to the grassy edge of the inlet, take the kayak for a paddle up to the upper reaches of the inlet winding through the mangrove lined river channels or across the harbour to the regional parks or other inlets.
We are just under 1 hour from central Auckland.
The Area and Activities
Scotts Landing is a narrow peninsula, about 6-8 kms south from Snells Beach/Algies Bay. Just 2km down the road from the house is Scott Point, location of an historic homestead on the waters edge. This is a beautiful protected beach with lots of shade trees as well as a ski lane. This is a very popular spot in the summer.
Walk around the rocky shore of Casnell Island when the tide is low.
Bring your runabout and explore the many outer islands, including Kawau, just outside the harbour for great fishing, diving and beautiful beaches and regional parks.
Visit Omaha beach for swimming and surfing, Goat Island snorkelers paradise, Pakiri Beach or Tawharanui for surfing, horseriding and spectacular beaches.
The area has numerous walking trails including Scandrett Regional park, Parry Kauri park in Warkworth, Pohuehue Reserve and many more. Or try the bike trails around Matakana/Point Wells/Omaha.
Visit Brick bay winery and sculpture trail or the various other vineyards on the Matakana wine trail.
Snells Beach, Warkworth and Matakana have numerous shops, restaurants and cafes.

This is a spacious, peaceful and relaxing retreat on 2 acres with native bush at the waters edge
Stunning place, beautiful big space with incredible views. Neatly presented and exceptionally maintained
We're pretty fussy when it comes to holiday places that promise 'peace and quiet'. The place was as good as, possibly better than expected. Would be great in any season. We were fortunate to get the warm log fire and spa with a view.
Loved it. Incredible property and wonderful owners. Cannot recommend highly enough!
What an amazing house! The craftsmanship and attention to detail is incredible, as are the views of the Maharangi Habour! The warm welcome and thorough information made our stay so easy. The spa with the stars at night were definite bonus, just don't forget to turn it on in time! Heaps of room for kids to roam, and boats to park. Neighbours were very friendly but not to close at the same time. Definitely a highlight of the year and would very much like to return again. Highly recommended. Thanks
Exceptional location and really beautiful, executive property. Stunning views, ambience and tranquility. Really gets you far from the madding crowd. Wonderful, helpful host. We can't wait to come back!
This house was perfect as it had a great layout for our group. We enjoyed the fire which made it warm and cosy in the cold weather and the spa was the perfect treat. The location was just right for site seeing in the Mahurangi, Matakana area. We really enjoyed our stay and would love to come back in the summer.
