Photos and Description of this Barnstead holiday cottage

Classic New Hampshire camp located 30 feet from the shores of Half Moon Lake. One bedroom with queen bed, 3/4 bath, living room with twin bed and full size futon and enclosed porch with one full size futon. Sleeps 5 total.

The property is located on a private association road with minimal traffic. There is a pick your own blueberry farm within walking distance when blueberries are in season in late June and early July and a pick your own apple orchard within a short drive for apple season starting in August.

At 250 acres of clean, clear water, the lake is perfect for family enjoyment. Large enough for water skiing, yet small enough for canoeing and kayaking. Swimming in front of the property. Lots of bass in the pond for those that want to try their hand at fishing. There is a community boat ramp from which a boat can be launched at no charge. The 20 foot dock is nice for sunbathing, drying off after a swim or just relaxing on and enjoying the view of the lake and of Prospect Mountain on the opposite shore.

Convenient to Alton Bay, 30 minutes to Concord, Rochester, Tilton and Laconia. 90 minutes to North Conway.

Why April Ellis chose Lakes Region

The owner's wife grew up vacationing with her family on Half Moon Lake. When we decided to purchase a vacation home, our first thought was to look for properties on Half Moon as it is a clean lake that is large enough to accommodate fishing, boating, swimming and water skiing, yet small enough and quiet enough to be enjoyable for the entire family. It is convenient to area attractions for anyone that wants to get away from the water, but far enough away from the major population areas to be a great place to relax and unwind.

The owner's brother in law purchased a property on the lake a number of years ago and has since built a year round house and retired to Half Moon. Having him nearby is convenient for family visits as well as having someone that can look after the property in an emergency.

Guestbook comments from the manager

I called at nearly the last minute and the Property Manager said "YES"! Everything was wonderful and my father had a memorable birthday bbq at the cabin after a wonderful day of hiking in the area. I hope to come back again!

Just as advertised

Cabin with all the amenities to make vacation easy and fun. Local attractions short drive away or spend the day enjoying the lake. Perfect for the two of us and our four legged companion who especially loved the abundant supply of sticks to turn into toothpicks or fetch out of the lake. Quiet neighbors except for those Loons that made a daily morning appearance calling out their arrival. Great restaurant and ice cream in Alton Bay.

great time

  • 5 of 5

This is our 2nd year staying and were not disappointed-- we enjoyed the canoe that was provided in addition to our own bassboat and kayak. The quiet lake and cozy camp was perfect for relaxing and fishing but still large enough for family to come visit for the day. Our schnauzer enjoyed the sun, dock and swimming as well. We hope to continue making this our home-away from home next year too.

Beautiful quiet lake!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay here! The cottage was clean and comfortable and accommodated our pups too! The lake is quiet, clean and just right for tubing and skiing. The fishing was good too! A great place to sit back and enjoy the peace and serenity or in a short ride your at Weir's Beach where there's plenty to do! The property manager, April, was very nice and always answered my questions promptly.

We spent the week of June 6th 2016 at the cottage..It was great..We brought our dog Zeus who is a chocolate Lab. He was in the water as much as we

would allow him in ......It was a vacation that we all enjoyed....Zeus would swim in the morning, then we went out, come back and sit by the water again.

Very peaceful ...It was a very clean ,well kept place...and it was great to be able to sit on the porch and see the water, and in the living room and still see the beautiful lake..

Nice cozy cottage.

We will return next year.

April was wonderful , she made sure we had everything we needed..

Ken,Adele ,Zeus .
