About the property

1 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom Apartment, 1 Block From Sunset Park

Owned by The Schmidt Family since 2001, this lovely 1905 brick home sits on a treelined block with friendly neighbors. Around the corner is the scenic and active Sunset Park with expansive western views of New York Harbor, Manhattan, Staten Island and New Jersey from one of the highest points in Brooklyn.

The separate apartment has its own private entrance below the front stoop of this one family home. Enter the airy, open living room through a cheerful vestibule welcoming guests to a sitting area by the windows with contemporary furniture and a sturdy, comfortable sleeper couch. At the other end is the bright fully equipped corner kitchen with stone counter tops and the dining area set around a french country table. Original art is hung throughout the apartment of which many are made by local Brooklyn artists. The loft bedroom up two steps from the living area is cozy with a queen bed, a modern bureau and ensuite bathroom only accessible through the bedroom. (Attention:Ceiling height is 6’3” in bedroom.)

The apartment is best for 2 people but can accommodate up to 4.

Free WiFi included.

Located on residential block between Brooklyn’s Chinatown(8th Ave), Latin American(5th Ave), Waterfront Bush Terminal Park (Soccer and Baseball playing fields) and Industry City(2nd Ave). The Avenues are filled with ethnic groceries and restaurants, shops and pharmacies. Sunset Park still offers an affordable place to shop and experience a vibrant, multicultural stroll. Just 2.5 blocks down the hill to 45th Street Station (Local R Train) and 1 stop(or a 10min. walk through the park) to 36th Street Station(Express D & N Trains), it is a great location to access Manhattan(approximately 30 minutes) and other parts of hip Brooklyn. The local 5th Ave bus takes you through Park Slope to the Barclay’s Center and down to Brooklyn Heights Waterfront Park. Historic Sunset Park located 1 block away, offers green open spaces and shaded tree spots. It also has a playground, chess tables, handball courts, soccer, basketball, and in summer free swimming pool access in art deco recreation center built by WPA in the 1930’s.

The Schmidt Family welcomes you to their home and hope that you enjoy discovering Sunset Park as you visit the Greater New York City area!

Very sweet, quiet, and cozy little spot in Brooklyn!

  • 5 of 5

My two friends and I really enjoyed our stay here while on our trip to NYC this Spring! Elise was so helpful and accommodating, and really worked with us on checking in and checking out. Although understandably this might not always be possible if she's heavily booked, I really appreciated that she offered early check-in and late check-out without me even having to ask! Not to mention she checked in with us to make sure there was nothing we needed. We had a great time and a good night's sleep every night we were here! We were initially concerned about how the transportation to and from Manhattan would be, but we found it very manageable and the closest station isn't far! Google maps really helped us pick the best routes. Great place to stay!

Comfortable and convenient

  • 5 of 5

Elise was a very gracious and welcoming host. Her apartment was cozy and well supplied with many comforts. It made a perfect landing spot for us and was within easy walking distance of Sunset Park and transportation.Be aware that the ceiling height in the bedroom and one doorway was lower than standard height. This was not a problem for us.

Home away from home.

  • 5 of 5

We feel so lucky to have found Elise and stay in her gorgeous apartment here in Brooklyn. She is a gracious host and very responsive to our questions or needs. Clean, comfy, and with all the amenities you need to feel at home. We always looked forward to coming back after a lond day of exploring. This place is perfectly located, just two blocks from the local train and a stroll away, through beautiful Sunset Park, to the express train into the city. The view of Manhattan from the park is stunning btw! Coming back from the city or other parts of Brooklyn always felt safe. We look forward to booking this place again. Elise, you made our first time to NYC most memorable. Thank you.

Roomy, comfortable NYC stay

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay in Brooklyn ( of course being only 3 doors away from our new granddaughter helped) Elise is such a lovely , hospitable host. It's quite roomy for a 1 bedroom with a nice sized bath. Everything was very comfy and well kept. Parking is a pain, but that's NYC.
