Located on residential block between Brooklyn’s Chinatown(8th Ave), Latin American(5th Ave), Waterfront Bush Terminal Park (Soccer and Baseball playing fields) and Industry City(2nd Ave). The Avenues are filled with ethnic groceries and restaurants, shops and pharmacies. Sunset Park still offers an affordable place to shop and experience a vibrant, multicultural stroll. Just 2.5 blocks down the hill to 45th Street Station (Local R Train) and 1 stop(or a 10min. walk through the park) to 36th Street Station(Express D & N Trains), it is a great location to access Manhattan(approximately 30 minutes) and other parts of hip Brooklyn. The local 5th Ave bus takes you through Park Slope to the Barclay’s Center and down to Brooklyn Heights Waterfront Park. Historic Sunset Park located 1 block away, offers green open spaces and shaded tree spots. It also has a playground, chess tables, handball courts, soccer, basketball, and in summer free swimming pool access in art deco recreation center built by WPA in the 1930’s.
The Schmidt Family welcomes you to their home and hope that you enjoy discovering Sunset Park as you visit the Greater New York City area!

The Schmidt's moved to Sunset Park because of its affordability, the park and its proximity to Manhattan. It is a quiet and warm, family oriented neighborhood. The avenues offer everything you need for local living.
The park, the views, Chinatown, Latin & Chinese street food, affordable shopping, close enough to Manhattan but a sense of getting away from the fray to a real Brooklyn neighborhood.
We feel so lucky to have found Elise and stay in her gorgeous apartment here in Brooklyn. She is a gracious host and very responsive to our questions or needs. Clean, comfy, and with all the amenities you need to feel at home. We always looked forward to coming back after a lond day of exploring. This place is perfectly located, just two blocks from the local train and a stroll away, through beautiful Sunset Park, to the express train into the city. The view of Manhattan from the park is stunning btw! Coming back from the city or other parts of Brooklyn always felt safe. We look forward to booking this place again. Elise, you made our first time to NYC most memorable. Thank you.
The Sunset Park Artist’s home was perfect for our visit to Brooklyn. Very comfortable, clean, and convenient to where we were visiting. Elise is a terrific host and made us feel very welcomed. We will definitely book again.
Elise was very accommodating and eager to provide suggestions for getting around. Her apartment was exactly what my teenage daughter and I needed for our stay in NYC! It is very clean and well furnished. Thank you Elise for your great hospitality!
We loved our stay in Brooklyn ( of course being only 3 doors away from our new granddaughter helped) Elise is such a lovely , hospitable host. It's quite roomy for a 1 bedroom with a nice sized bath. Everything was very comfy and well kept. Parking is a pain, but that's NYC.
We had an amazing time in NYC! Elise was amazing. Super responsive with any questions and very helpful with suggestions. This was a great home base for all of our adventures across NYC. We walked through the neighborhood late at night coming back from broadway and a nighttime sail boat and it was very safe and beautiful. The park near by has amazing views of Manhattan. We would stay here again!
Very clean interior. Well laid out floor plan. Elise was always very helpful in adjusting to the new surroundings. Sunset Park is a block away with wonderful view of the city and also has a very large public pool. The subway is only 2.5 blocks away. Neighbor hood is relatively safe. There were 2 nights where I walked back to the apartment from the subway after midnight without any problem. However that probably isn't a smart thing to do no matter where you're at.
I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
A scenic and multicultural neighborhood in the heart of Brooklyn, Sunset Park is located at one of the highest points where views of Manhattan, the Statue of Liberty and New Jersey are spectacular! Between Bay Ridge/Coney Island and Park Slope/DUMBO/Brooklyn Heights, visitors are central to hip Brooklyn as well as a short subway ride to The City. Experience food from Mexico, the Dominican Republic and China in this diverse area located one block from Sunset Park where views of the setting sun make it a respite from daily activity.
