New this year--WIFI!
-Owner was very easy to deal with and communication quick/easy through email
-Unique placement of the house
-All (4) BR's are huge and are sized like Masters. Beds were very comfortable.
-Kitchen and dining area are huge and fully equipped/stocked, really large table was great for family meals (the bench seating was a really cool alternative)
-Great sitting area with fireplace
-Basement was a blast with pool table, ping pong and foosball.
-Lots of boating options; we enjoyed the kayaks and paddleboat each day we were there.
-This lake (unlike Lake Arrowhead) was so nice for adult time; peaceful and quiet.
-All the little things were thought of and provided for like linens, soaps, etc.
The Bad (if you can really use that word):
-Main TV room was a bit cramped and seating layout is not very conducive for more than 2 or 3 people at a time
-Need TV's in each of the BR's and better viewing options like Direct TV or Cable
-While not consistent or too loud, you could hear traffic from a nearby road, likely 380 or 80
-After a long day out hiking; we wanted to just enjoy the fire pit and get a pizza, but we couldn't find a place that delivered to the house.
We had a great time at this house and I definitely recommend it and would definitely rent again if returning to the area.
Our family was looking for a home where we could all just be together and enjoy ourselves. Shannon's home was absolutely perfect for our weekend. As is turned out the weather was less than perfect rainy, windy and foggy however, thanks to the beautiful surroundings Shannon created, we all had a wonderful time. The home was immaculate even nicer than it appeared in the photos. Our host had thought of everything as far as providing linens, towels, and even toilet paper. She was very responsive to all my questions and her home provided a beautiful setting for us to just cook, chat and be together. The views from all the rooms were wonderful. We have adult married children and all liked the fact that the rooms were large, well laid out and had queen and king size beds. Unfortunately we were unable to use the kayaks, the lovely outside grill and porch, but we are already discussing how much we would all like to come back again! Thank you Shannon for letting us share your lovely lakeside retreat!
This house had everything to make your stay easy and pleasurable! Nothing was left to chance. The rooms were sizable and well layed out, with plenty of natural light. The seating was beyond ample everywhere you turned - and particularly so on the spacious deck. There were blankets and pillows placed throughout for use at your slightest whim. Astoundingly, all of the linens, trash bags, paper products were provided. And there was a canoe, a paddle boat, and 4 kayaks (capable of handling my 240 pounds...). Amazing! We live in a very nice home, but this place left us feeling even more spoiled than normal. Oh - and Shannon was very responsive to our every question and concern. We also won $$ at the casino (10 minutes away) so ... Yeah!!!
What an amazing week at the lake! The location was perfect for a family getaway. The house is situated on the best spot in the lake and we felt like we had the entire lake to ourselves most days. The kids could take out the kayaks without us having to be worried about them being clipped by a motor boat or jet ski, unlike Lake Wallenpaupack or other busier lakes. The house is beautiful and well stocked. Shannon thought of everything to make the stay feel like home. The kids especially liked the decor of the kid room and the great basement with pool, ping pong and foosball! We have rented other lake houses in the Poconos, but this was our favorite spot by far! Shannon was very easy to work with and responded quickly to any questions. Can't wait to come back again!
My family enjoyed a great week at Shannon's house. The house is very spacious - extremely large bedrooms and lots of room in the well-stocked kitchen. Though it rained the first couple of days of our stay, there was plenty to do. We spent the time downstairs playing pool, ping pong, and foosball, doing a puzzle at the coffee table and playing cards at the huge dining table. When the weather cleared we enjoyed the lake and the kayaks, canoe and paddleboat that were provided. Shannon was very responsive when I was booking and we had no problems. I do want to mention that the lake really isn't swimmable (at least when we were there - end of July/early August). Lots of growth by that time. We did enjoy seeing all the wildlife on our own little peninsula! Thanks, Shannon, for sharing your house with us.
This was our first vacation in the Poconos and it was all that we could have wanted and more. Shannon's house was perfect! Everyone that stayed with us was thrilled with the house and its location. It was secluded yet was easy to get to the main highway for various activities. All the bedrooms were large and gave us more than enough room. We got a lot of use of the basement with the ping pong table, foosball, and pool table in the evening. Everyone agreed that we will be back next summer. Thank you Shannon for always getting back to me so promptly when I had questions.
