Why Theodor .T chose Egina

I have grew up in the island where I have a memorable childhood life in the house of my grant parents.

After some years of searching I found this magnificent and quiet plot where I built this stone villa with a lot of care to the environment. What has impressed me more is the superb panoramic views the vivid blue colours of the sea and the sky and above all the breathtaking views of he sunset.

Although we have holidayed in Greece for many years we have never stayed in such luxurious accommodation......everything we needed was to hand and more. The villa; spotlessly clean, the fabulous pool and BBQ area.....all were so much better, spacious and picturesque than we had imagined. The photos seen beforehand were lovely but did not do the villa justice. The views from the terrace and many balconies were amazing and our hosts, Theodore and Yolanda friendly and gracious.........we could not have asked for a better place to stay and hope to return again one day.

Excellent villa with amazing views and wonderful owners

  • 5 of 5

We are a family with 3 active children, 15, 12 & 7. Aegina was a perfect choice as we wanted a few days in Athens before our arrival on the island, Yolanda met us at the port with our hire car and helped us to the villa, explaining all the best restaurants, supermarkets etc on the way. She was also available throughout our stay if we needed her and was, at all times, kind and helpful, nothing was too much trouble.

The outdoor space at the villa is excellent and by far the best we have had in a villa rental. The pool area is large and clean with lots of beds and seating, in full sun or shade if required. The outdoor kitchen is also excellent, with a very good BBQ, sink, fridge etc, and the sunset here is beautiful. The villa is a short drive from Aegina town, its location is so peaceful with just the sounds of goats and a donkey, perfect for relaxing. We fell in love with Aegina and Villa Petrina was a perfect place to spend a holiday.

A fine home with the finest views in all of Aegina

  • 5 of 5

We were very happy that this home was available to us. We came with two other couples and immediately fell in love with the place. The house and grounds with beautiful stone work and the many variety of trees and flowers make it a special place. And the views...Outstanding, all of Aegina and the Saronic Gulf with its islands are below you. The interior spaces are all very comfortable and the kitchen "works" without a flaw. There's even a complete outside kitchen with grill, sink, and refrigerator that we used. I whole heartedly recommend this home to anyone who wants clean, spacious luxury with a great view. The best part of the whole experience was meeting Yolanda, who introduced us to her home and is the epitome of Greek hospitality. (φιλονεξία (philoxenia)

Amazing villa with fantastic view

  • 5 of 5

This villa is an amazing rental. It corresponds very well to the description on the web.

The villa itself is beautiful, with an elegant interior design, and provides a perfect confort in terms of beds, kitchen, bathrooms, terraces and so on. It is just perfect.

The pool and the main terrace are wide, well equipped with confortable chairs and several places to stay for a drink, a dinner or a BBQ. The garden around the house is also nice with olive trees. The pool is very confortable with a hot tube, a nice warm water and possibility to swim, jump and dive.

The view from the terrace is fantastic and changes every day with the light. It could be contemplated for ever.

Aegina is also a very nice island. The town and the port are superb and alive and there are plenty of places to visit and beaches to go. It is not crowded of foreign tourists and it is a unique possibility to share the life of Greeks, who are so nice and welcoming in every places and shops.

Finally the owners are just great, helpful, nice welcoming and do everything which could make life easy. We thank them very much for their hospitality.

It is just a perfect rental, a dream villa.

Wish we could have stayed longer ....

  • 5 of 5

Having spent 3 day exploring Athens we were eager to arrive and relax at the Villa. We were not disappointed, the villa is just as described, comfortable, spacious, well equipped, and the view has to be seen to be truly appreciated, photos don't do it justice.

Because if its situation you can watch the sunrise, from the patio, enjoy a full 13 hours or so of sunshine (with plenty of opportunity to get some shade) and watch some truly beautiful sunsets at the other end of the day.

The hospitality of the owners, Theodore and Yolanda was outstanding and really enhanced our stay.

Theodore met us at Piraeus avoiding any confusion regarding ferries and tickets, and after the 1hour 15 minute trip we were met at the other end by Yolanda also. They gathered up the 6 of us (2 adults 4 teenagers) with all our baggage and drove us to the Villa, pointing out places of interest, good restaurants and the supermarket on the way.

After a quick tour of the Villa, explaining all the necessities they left us to enjoy and find our bearings, we did not need to do a thing except relax, they had even provided a care package - food in the fridge & cupboards including home grown tomatoes, olive oil and wine and pistachio's for snacks!

We had emailed before our arrival with our car hire needs and they were able to organise this on our behalf even arranging for the car to be delivered to us at the Villa.

The Villa is just outside Aegina town approximately 8 minutes drive away and we spent many happy evenings wandering through the town eating in the many restaurants. There is a very good choice of food, amongst our party we had to cater to teenage, vegetarian, and gluten free diets and we never had any difficulty finding restaurants which catered to us all.

The Island itself is just lovely, once you get to grips with the 'crazy' Moped riding locals, it is well worth exploring, we visited several beeches, Moni and Klima were the most memorable & the Temples of Apollo and Aphaia.

However the Villa provides such comfortable communal areas & space to have a quite spell reading on your own that we spent many days just relaxing by the pool (the deep end is 2m+ ) and visiting Aegina town for our evening meal.

All in all our stay was idyllic and topped of with a lovely meal with Theodore and Yolanda on our last day, an unexpected treat.

This was most definitely a 5* holiday and one of our best villa holiday experiences of the past 12 years. We would love to come back.

Perfectly located villa exceeding all expecations

  • 5 of 5

We arrived on sunday afternoon at the port of piraeus, where our host Theodore picked us and already arranged our boat transport for us. After a short boat ride we arrived at the island and our house, which was simply amazing! the house is brand new, in excellent state, clean and spacious. You have three bedrooms and one additional room which can either be uses as an additional living space or as a bedroom. There are also four clean bathrooms, a large kitchen and plenty of balcons, windows and space. Outside you have a swimming pool, a large dining table and multiple seating areas. Ideal for large groups where you want to spend time together but can always find some space for yourself to relax.

Best of all is of course the view.. which is unheard of. The house is situated on a prime location on top of the mountain overlooking Aegina town and the sea. Every night we lit up the large, installed BBQ and watched the sun disappearing in the sea. The hosts Theodore and Yolanda couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. They were always available for any questions and tips but to be fair, we didn;t need much as the everything was perfectly taken care of.

I can highly recommend this beautiful villa to anyone looking to relax and enjoy one of the best spots in greece with family or friends. When we return to Aegin we will definitely go back here!

Aegina is the perfect Greek island for holidays.

More than its various beaches and stunning sunsets, its rich history is exceptional as well

You will find signs of its rich history everywhere in archaeological sites of Column, in the temple of Aphaia, historic monasteries, the medieval village of paleochora etc

Swimming in crystal clear waters, snorkeling, sightseeing , sailing, walking and hiking, cycling, horse riding and visiting the archaeological and historical sites ,are few of the things you can enjoy in Aegina.

Once in Aegina you can easily leave for day trips to Athens and the Saronic islands of Poros, Hydra and Agistri.

The port of Aegina Town, a moon crescent harbor with fishing boats, fruit selling caiques and glamorous yachts is full of life with fantastic tavernas sea front cafes and bars where you can enjoy your drinks gazing amazing sunsets.

The local cuisine is Mediterranean with excellent salads, fresh fish and fruits and grilled meat.

There are several good sandy beaches, where and can enjoy beach life finding a quiet spot, or somewhere organised with umbrellas sunbeds and drinks.

The little uninhabited island Moni ,which is located opposite fishing village of Perdika ,just 5 minutes by sea taxit, is a must-see place with beautiful beach, covered with pine trees inhabited only by deer and peacocks.

Thankfully Aegina is not a victim of mass tourism and is the perfect destination for individual travelers.

Aegina has a rich cultural life. All year through there are various cultural events

.Every August the Avra beach next to harbor and under the archaeological site of Column, is the stage of Aegina Music Festival with concerts of greek and international music.

Also during summer period, trips by sea taxi are organised to Ancient Theater of Epidaurus where can attend Greek Tragedy .

Aegina is the island of pistachio nuts called in greek as 'fistiki' and every September the harvest is celebrated with Aegina Fistiki Festival with lots of food, music, dance and pistachio gastronomic competition.
