The best!

The home was so cosy and perfectly equipped for all of our needs. It reminded us of the coziness of growing up in a loving home. We absolutely loved it!

Post Christmas relaxation

We had booked for skiing but there was little snow on the mountain so we just enjoyed Courtenay. The location was great. At first I was a bit worried about only 1 TV and 2 teenagers but we ended up snuggled up watching movies and Sienfeld reruns. A great family getaway. Thanks so much!

Family Christmas

We hosted a family Christmas and it couldn't have felt more like home. Host decorated the house and yard, including a Christmas tree. The family felt warm and welcome. We would stay here again and definitely recommend it.

Wonderful Cottage by the River!

This is a lovely cottage in a wonderful, peaceful location. The property is beautifully and lovingly maintained, the cottage is full of light and warmth, and the deck invites you to sit for hours watching the river. We enjoyed tubing and kayaking, and the fresh peaches from the peach tree. We loved it.

Beautiful riverfront home away from home

We have been staying here almost every year for 10 years now and we never get tired of it. This is such a beautiful home in such a fantastic location. The back deck overlooking the river is stunning. It's walking distance to downtown Courtenay for shopping and restaurants. The house itself is beautiful - beautifully decorated, comfortable furniture, and well equipped for cooking family meals. The beds are super comfortable as well. This place is really a gem.

I love the outdoors and enjoy discovering new places in and around Courtenay!
My favorite things to do would be cross country skiing on Mount Washington and hiking & walking the trails by Nymph Falls!

Why they chose this property

This river-front property is a rare find. It was constructed in 1936, renovated and expanded in 1992. Then we again renovated and decorated in 2011/12. The cottage's quaint charm is refreshing in its idyllic location. You can feel something peaceful about the cottage as you relax and enjoy the river-view through its large windows or outside on its cedar deck in adirondack style chairs.
From past guests' comments and reviews, this cottage seems to be exactly the type of stay everyone is looking for!

What makes this property unique

It's wonderful. You can swim, fish, hike, bike, walk, ski or relax with a book or a movie. It has something.. for anyone!
