Just walk down the stairs to the ocean and swim, snorkel or hunt for sea glass all day then come up to your private villa grill out on the screened porch and have a cold Kalik (beer of the Bahamas) or a glass of wine by the gas fireplace all on your private screened porch. Now we are even including a vehicle with a villa rental to make your say as care free as possible!
All you have to do is book your flights we will pick you up at Deadmans Airport.
In 2011 we wanted to start planning our semi- retirement and thought it was going to be on a boat to cruise the Caribbean. After looking at the cost of a boats to cruise to the Bahamas we decided to look at property in the Bahamas. The first property we looked at was in Long Island and that was our last! We fell in love with this friendly, safe, beautiful island at first glance. After 3 years we feel blessed that we by far made the right decision.
Then we meet with a few builders and chose Lauren Knowles, who is a father to the community and now like family to us. We started with just going to build a home for us but later decided we wanted to be able to share this amazing island with friends and family so that is how the Blue Lagoon Villa and the Pink Conch came in to play. Now the Blue Lagoon Villa is complete and our dream is a reality. We are so excited to meet you and help you enjoy your getaway to Bahama Dreamin!
Robin and Mike Smith purchased this villa in 2014
After touring Long Island we had to make a choice on where we wanted to build Bahama Dreamin Villas. We looked at the Leeward side of the island and the Windward side. We chose the windward side because of the elevation for the best view and the constant breeze. Even though we are from FL the breeze adds to the comfort of a tropical climate. We are so sre you will be amazed by the beautiful view that when you drive up the road to Bahama Dreamin and your first words aren't OMG we will buy your first nights dinner! You come once this will be somewhere you will want to visit again and again
We have traveled to many places so we have tried to pin down all the fine details when building and furnishing the Blue Lagoon and the Pink Conch Villas. Each villa are 1 and 2 bedrooms and each bedroom has its own private bath. The living room and kitchen has everything you need to make your stay just like home with a full refrigerator, stove, microwave plus pots and pans, blender, mixer, toaster, dishes etc... If you don't want to cook there are many restaurants on the island close by or you can have a Bahamian meal cooked for your in your own Villa with fresh fish or lobster caught that day. The large screened in porch is where you will spend your evenings and on a calm night you will be glad to have the screened room that is like an extension of the family room. All rooms are air conditioned but we rarely need them since there is always a nice breeze.
It’s Monday morning and I’m “Bahama Dreamin”. We just returned from two weeks on Long Island and an amazing piece of paradise at Bahama Dreamin. This was our third trip to Long Island with a group of eleven. Bahama Dreamin provided us the ideal accommodations for our group. We rented two of the two bedroom units and one of the one bedroom units which gave everyone the perfect balance between family time and some private space.
Bahama Dreamin is located at the center of the island which is great. It is close to Deadman’s Cay airport which was really appreciated when our children’s flights home were delayed due to weather. Robin kept us informed of flight updates and provided assistance in an alternative option to Nassau.
Bahama Dreamin is on a beautiful beach on the Atlantic side of the ocean. We snorkeled and speared a huge lobster the first night we arrived. Each day we went to another beach on Long Island. The cars that are included are a huge bonus when renting from Bahama Dreamin. The jeep and large SUV’s allowed our large group to explore the entire island from North to South.
The units are beautifully decorated, clean and as comfortable as home. We cooked meals most nights for eleven in one of the units and had everything we needed. The large screened porches overlooking the ocean provided the perfect spot every morning for coffee and a spectacular sunrise and then an evening cocktail hour listening to the waves.
Our group included four grandparents, grown children and our three year old grandson and four month old granddaughter. Robin arranged for Cena, her caretaker to babysit everyday which was amazing. Bahama Dreamin provides an excellent layout for everyone from seniors to children and I would recommend it for all ages and group sizes.
We have been traveling to the Bahamas for over 20 years and have visited many different islands. Long Island is our favorite. It has the most beautiful, isolated beaches we have seen. Robin and Cena helped arrange fishing trips and introduced us to many amazing people. Cameron Knowles provided the experience of a lifetime by sharing his lobster adventures with my husband.
Robin and Mike have created the ultimate setting for others to experience the beauty and restfulness of Long Island. We are already looking at the calendar to plan our next trip. Until then, we will be “Bahama Dreamin".
All was great at Bahama Dreamin. Spectacular views from the front porch, fun jeep and comforts of home inside.
Long Island is small enough that you can explore end to end and see beautiful scenery, eat great food and meet interesting locals. Whether you are lounging by the water or fishing the flats Bahama Dreamin and Long Island are a perfect fit.
Honestly, OMG was the first words out of our mouths! From the initial drive onto the property we were impressed with the view. Chimney rock with the aqua blue lagoon and back drop was amazing. Fell in love instantly. The soothing crash of waves and spectacular breeze was comforting as we stepped out of the car.
The villa was better than advertised! We were not sure exactly what we were getting initially and ended up very pleased. The private screened porch was large and the view was lovely! The breeze on the porch was relaxing and felt heavenly. The kitchen was great, the living room was really nice. Overall we felt right at home. The decor added a nice warmth and beach like feel. Loved the shower too!! Everything was well maintained and clean upon arrival, it looked pretty much brand new. It was so quiet and peaceful on the property which made for a truly relaxing vacation. Those of you that enjoy the peace and quiet, non-resort style crowds, and love to explore, this is the place for you.
The vehicle was such an added value! We are explorers by nature so having the freedom to jump in the Jeep and see the entire island was perfect for us. The central location of Bahama Dreamin made travel to both ends of the island feasible at any time of the day.
Robin was awesome! She gave us great advise with finding the perfect sunset and snorkeling location (right on the property is hard to beat). She was VERY fast in responding to questions pre-arrival as well as once we were onsite. Excellent customer service.
We both would highly recommend this property to our family and friends. Honestly we already have!
As for attractions, we both loved the following:
Deans Blue Hole
Cape of Santa Maria Beach
Max's Conch Bar
Stella Maris Moonshine Bar for Lunch - Great views
Columbus Point - Gorgeous Panorama's
We really did not find anything we did not like.
Thank you Robin and Mike for the wonderful stay. Our experience was so good that we plan on booking soon for the next adventure!! We still have a lot to see on the island.

We would totally like to let everyone know about our great stay at Bahama Dreamin. We went for 2 weeks to celebrate our 30th Anniversary in February of 2016. It started with Robyn picking us up at the airport. Showing us the area and answering any questions we had. The car she lent us was extremely handy so we could find awesome beaches, did some fishing, snorkling and just relaxing. The accommodations are very up to date and is equipped anything you'll need. The view was also amazing and kept us in awe the hole time.
Robin's & Mike's Bahamas Dreamin is really a dream. The location is perfect. From the porch you have a stunning view of the Atlantic Ocean and the Lagoon is only steps away from the door. The house is clean, well maintained and equipped with everything you need for your stay. The car comes with the rental and is a great asset to explore the island. Robin and Mike are great hosts, they are friendly and provide superior customer service. Bahama Dreamin is the place to stay at Long Island. Thank you Robin and Mike for your hospitality; we had a great time at your property. We wish to come back! Heiko & Margit from Germany

The Real Bahamas!
Long Island, a jewel of an island located in the archipelago crown of islands in The Bahamas. Stretching about 80 miles long and the widest point on the island is approximately 4 miles. 'Yuma' was the original name for Long Island given by the native Arawak Indians before it was renamed 'Fernandina' by Christopher Columbus in 1492.
The tropic of Cancer line runs through Long Island, making the atmosphere feel as if you are on another plane...another world.
Long Island is said to be the most beautiful, picturesque island of The Bahamas because of its symphony of dramatic contrasts. On the 'norside', which is really the eastern shore overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, there are cliffs, caves and crashing waves of indigo. On the opposite side, the western shore, it's calm, tranquil, turquoise and aquamarine shades of blue overlaps with flats, mangroves and baby powder sanded beaches as far as the eyes can see.
The deepest blue hole in the world, Dean's Blue Hole (600 ft), is located at Turtle Cove west of the capitol, Clarence Town. Many blue holes exist throughout the island in settlements namely, Mileys, Dunmore and Simms.
Numerous cave and tunnel systems cover the island. The historical cave system where the Lucayan Indian Tribe and their treasure artifacts, such as the ceremonial stools 'duhos' were found is located in Mortimer's. The treasure find was discovered by Long Island native Carlton Cartwright. Another cave system is located in Mileys and the historical Hamilton's Cave where hieroglyphics are still visible on the cave walls to this day.
Scattered throughout Long Island are many ruins of cotton plantations, churches and houses built in the 1700 & 1800's. Adderley Plantation is located 'down' in the north. 'Up' south lies the ruins of Dunmore Slave Plantation named for the former governor, Lord Dunmore, of The Bahamas. Canals, wells, and walls built by slaves can still be found throughout Long Island to this day.
Columbus Point where Columbus Landed there is a monument erected. Climb to the top and experience a breathtaking panoramic view of Long Island. Located at Cape Santa Maria where the beach there is ranked amongst the top 10 in the world.
The Twin Churches built by Father Jerome, or Monsignor John C. Hawes an architect, world famous, he was also a poet, philosopher and sculptor. He he was ordained as a Church of England priest 'Anglican' and came to Long Island where he built St. Paul's Anglican Church. He later converted to Catholicism, returned to Long Island and built St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. Both churches are located in Clarence Town on opposite hillsides.
Long Island is home to many wonders, a natural treasure chest. Go exploring, have an adventure, you just never know what you may find. Bring your Water shoes, snorkel or dive gear and your fishing pole and you will be set for the most relaxing adventure of your life!
