This is a great place to get your head on or get away from the human race. You can use this place to enjoy the natural beauty of Montgomery County, Arkansas i.e. fishing, water skiing, boating, hunting, canoeing, hiking, crystal digging and/or mountain biking or just to see if this is the community you would like to retire to. Beautiful scenery, and if you time it right you will see the deer crossing the property every morning. This is a 1,550 square foot home with 2 bedrooms and an open floor plan. This home has 3 porches, 2 covered. The front porch has a standard porch swing. The back porch has a outdoor table and chairs and chaise lounge chair. It has all the amenities a normal home would have, which includes a washer/dryer in the utility room. The bathroom is a 4-piece. The shower is large, with a good sized seat and handicapped bars in the shower to use if needed. The first bedroom has a king size bed and dresser, the 2nd bedroom can double as a separate sitting area or bedroom. It has a full size sleeper sofa with a small standing cabinet to use as a dresser. There is plenty of closet space. There is an anteroom, which has a desk. The living room and kitchen are one large room. The living room has 2 couches and one chair. One couch is a little unconventional, it is a large bean bag couch. This home comes with satellite TV, Wi-Fi and a doggie door. You may bring your dog or cat as long as they do their business outside or in a box. We are located just off Hwy 270. Plenty of parking for your boat or RV.
Mt. Ida is 11 miles away, which has several eating establishments and a grocery store. Every Saturday night, from May thru September a different musical band plays on the town square.
Mena is 34 miles away, it is a much larger town with restaurants and grocery stores, Queen Wilhelmina State Park. Beautiful scenery.
Hot Springs is 47 miles away. Big tourist area. Natural Hot Springs, Lake Hamilton, Amusement Park, water park,. 2 large hospitals, many restaurants, Garvan Gardens, gambling, seasonal horse racing.
We are Jim and Lisa Bradley. We are originally from the state of Vermont. My husband is a logger and I work from home. We raised our children and headed to this part of Arkansas for employment and to be 'us' again.
Lisa Bradley purchased this house in 2013
We fell in love with this property because of its beauty, peace and quiet, fresh air and privacy.
The house was very clean and nicely decorated. We loved watching the butterflies on the mimosa tree from the porch swing. The bean bag couch was a favorite with our boys and some of their friends who visited us on breaks from working as counselors at Camp Ozark. Our son slept on the pull-out sofa, and he said it was very comfortable. The king bed was also super comfortable. We loved the big tub and shower. It was very nice to have a w/d as we did several outdoor activites nearby (kayacking, mt. biking, hiking) and got pretty dirty. Lisa greeted us on our first night there and was extremely cordial and accommodating. Our only note to guests is to beware that the bathroom is the only room with a door in case privacy is an issue. We plan to come back and have already recommended it to friends.
this is a place to go to if you want to completely relax and enjoy what the countryside has to offer. The hostess Lisa has a welcome second to none. We have never been so well looked after. There are many places to visit in the area including hiking, boating, historical sites and a beautiful botanical garden on lake Hamilton. Queen Wilhelmina State Park's Talimena Scenic drive is like a drive through the Smokey mountain, gorgeous. The fact we could bring our small dog with us everywhere including the botanical gardens means we shall be back again to stay with Lisa and Cricket the Labrador, there is something for everyone in this beautiful location. We have recommended this cabin to all our friends and family and even to other dog lovers like ourselves. You will have to go a long way to find such a well furnished, clean and comfortable vacation cabin.
The name of this property says it all. It is truly peaceful and quiet. The cabin is beautiful and so is the property. The owners are the nicest people you will meet along with their dog Cricket.
We spent a very relaxing week at this cabin and are so relaxed now! Lisa and Jim (and Cricket) are the best neighbors/hosts! They see to your every need and are never intrusive. Sweet black lab Cricket is so friendly and fun that our dog loved to play with her. The cabin is very well appointed and lacks nothing. The kitchen is even partially stocked! The setting is so lovely and the area is wonderful. We took walks along the lane and in the woods by stepping right out the door. And we took some hikes in the area that were a short drive away. We highly recommend staying at this cabin! Be warned - you will be so spoiled that you won't want to leave or ever stay anywhere else!
We had a wonderful and relaxing time between Christmas and New Years at this perfect cabin. Warning: Lisa, Jim, and Cricket set the bar high. They are so hospitable and the cabin is so well appointed, that you probably won't want to stay any place else ever again! Cricket, their sweet black lab, made sure that our lab Mollie had a great time too! We did a few hikes in the area and are ready to go back during another time of the year to see what else the area has to offer. Lisa knows what to see and do so you'll never lack for good ideas. I would recommend staying at this peaceful cabin. It's a little bit of Heaven on Earth!
Better than perfect! We stayed for 3 nights and had a phenomenal visit. Very clean cottage with nice amenities and very peaceful! We were welcomed with treats and friendly conversations. We will return again, for a much longer stay.
Lisa, the manager, pampered us with delights and our dog, Max, played with their sweet black lab, Cricket, on their wooded acreage. Lots of hiking on property and nearby.
Nice restaurant with a lake view at the Mtn. Harbor Lodge in Mt. Ida, not far from property. There are many things to do nearby. We loved the Garvan Gardens in Hot Springs. They let dogs ride in the golf carts, while they gave us a tour! Pets can also take the Duck Tours. We love our German Shepherd! April 2015
