Isla Verde one bedroom apt. with a beautiful panoramic view close to everything.

Why the "5 Star rated" review headline claim? Easy, since last year 33 of our HomeAway/VRBO guests voluntarily reviewed their stay and gave us a top 5 Star review. This is a very high review percentage. Rather than try to explain it, we will allow recent guests speak for themselves.

We start with a visitor to Puerto Rico: “….once we arrived at the condo and took one look out the window, it was paradise again! And that was in the middle of the night. For the rest of the trip my wife asked me "How did you find this place?!" We shopped around while we were there and did not find a better priced condo, nor one with a better view, nor one in a better location. 10 out of 10 for this condo.”

Now comes the toughest guest.... a repeat, experienced visitor to Isla Verde, Puerto Rico: “…..with a clear conscience I can only write a stellar review. I have stayed in several VRBO and airbnb units in the San Juan area and this was my favorite by far. If you are looking for fancy, with bells and whistles...this is not for you. If you want clean, safe, great location, free parking, lovely beach, comfy bed, and not mildew smelling AT ALL (a big plus in these older waterfront Isla Verde condos) then this is the spot for you! The management company was easy to deal with and the owner was attentive to our questions.” Another lovely lady recently stated "We have traveled to San Juan a number of times and stayed in other condos, but this one was our favorite."

The reviewed Marbella apt.'s description now follows: One bedroom oceanfront apt with a queen size bed and a brand new sleeper sofa suitable for 1-2 children or a third (maybe fourth) adult. It has a beautiful panoramic 17th floor ocean view located in the middle of Isla Verde beach....San Juan’s best. This is a fully equipped self-catering apt. All linens, bath towels and beach towels, cooler as well as beach chairs are provided. It has Wi-Fi and a Cable TV Premium package plus eight Showtime channels . The apt. has three flat screen TV's including a spare one.

The unit is cleaned before your arrival and after you check out. For long term stays additional cleaning can be arranged for a $50 charge. The apt.'s Property manager is located in the same building and is available Monday to Friday during office hours and Saturday until noontime in case of any eventuality.

Marbella del Caribe is a popular and well maintained oceanfront two building complex with 24x7 security and is completely gated. The apt. has a very convenient designated underground parking space. Even though the airport is less than 10 minutes there is no noise. The two building Marbellla complex has extensive grounds, a beautiful large pool, a large BBQ area and a basketball court.

Nearby, there are banks, souvenir shops and a Cyber cafe. Across the street you find Charlie's car rental and a 24 x 7 Walgreens that has just about everything one could need from food to beach gear. There are also two (Pueblo and Super Max) well stocked supermarkets nearby.

Several upscale hotels and casinos are found less than 5 minute walk away offering high end dining, casinos and other attractions to enjoy. These hotels include Wyndham El San Juan Hotel & Casino, The Water Club San Juan and the Inter Continental San Juan Resort & Casino. Also, there is a vast array of restaurants within a few blocks ranging from any possible type of Fast Food plus Italian, Japanese, Chinese, American-International, Cuban and the best Puertorican cuisine.

Isla Verde’s beach is a long and wide sandy beach located near Old San Juan and other tourist attractions. Aside from a beautiful beach, the Isla Verde area has it all. Taxis and buses are always available on the 'main drag'. East of Isla Verde, beautiful Fajardo beach is found which also has a wonderful set of rustic kiosks serving tasty local food such as alcapurrias, bacalaítos, pasteles, and empanadillas. These meat and vegetable filled turnovers and fritters represent Puerto Rico's greasy, crispy, artery-clogging contribution to the world of fast food.

The apt. is close to many beautiful and historical places to visit as well as outdoor activities and challenging golf courses. El Yunque National Forest is a couple of miles inland from Fajardo and is the only tropical rain forest in the US. If you like to hike or kayak , PR is the place to go. The Island's interior has coffee plantations as well as an extensive cave system and the world famous Arecibo observatory. The NW corner has wonderful surfing.

A short flight away from San Juan you find the Virgin Islands with its duty free shopping. The Virgin Islands also offer the additional option to charter a crewed or bare boat sailboat and spend a week sailing the Virgins island. Another option is to take a Caribbean cruise departing from the San Juan seaport.

About Argelio Maldonado

I am new to the online rental business. For over 10 years, I have worked exclusively with a Property Manager located in the same building whose primary target market are Corporations and the Catholic church. However, due to PR's economic downturn the Corporate demand for rentals has dropped dramatically. Thus, a diversification rental strategy was launched. In order to make sure that my guests' stay goes well, I have made arrangements (ie, pay an additional commission) with the same experienced Property manager to coordinate the renter's stay. He handles the keys, your check in and check out and can be approached Monday to Friday during office hours and Saturday until noon in case of any eventuality with the apt.

In order to be on any preferred corporate list an owner must be willing to: 1) offer very competitive rental rates (which I also offer you) and 2) maintain the apt's premises up to their standards, otherwise, you are not considered. I recently bought new high end artwork (Fanch Ledan,love his stuff) for the living and dining rooms. In addition, the bath was painted and repaired.

Why Argelio Maldonado chose Puerto Rico

Marbella del Caribe is a very well maintained building. I also try to do the same with my apt. I am not perfect but I do try. Also, as a renter to have the advantage of having access to an on-premises Property manager which is truly very important. His job is to make sure your stay goes well and that you enjoy your Puerto Rico stay.

The building has FREE parking. It also offers security guard 24 hours, 7 days a week, Coin Laundromat and pool with BBQ and tables. The area offers a wide variety of restaurants and food delivery by some restaurants.

Charming, well located apartment with a truly amazing view!

This property truly is a gem. It was perfectly located, the parking spot is ideal, the view was phenomenal, and I would stay there again with my family. It had everything we needed and we felt very secure there, which was important because it was only myself and another female friend staying there. And it was so quiet that even 17 stories up we could hear the ocean. There are two large conveniently located supermarkets a short drive away, as well as the 24 hour Walgreens directly across the street. The management staff could not have been more pleasant and made the check in/check out process very easy. I'm already planning my return!

Owner's Response: It is very gratifying to receive four reviews in a row from satisfied guests stating that they are planning to repeat sometime in the future. Repeat guests over time become friends which is a wonderful aspect of renting 1707. Repeat guests tend to be folks who appreciate the condo"s view, location and security. In addition, I try hard to keep up with its maintenance and once a year during October I take it off the market for major repairs which I personally supervise.

I stayed at Argelio's property for a week & it was absolutely amazing! The view was breathtaking! The property is so conveniently located, right next to a 24/7 Walgreens and plenty of restaurants. I can't wait to come back & stay again :)

Had the time of our lives!!

Many of the previous reviews hit the nail right on the head!! What an amazing vacation this was! Argelio is extremely courteous and his property is beautiful, to say the least. If you're looking to spend any amount of time in PR, Isla Verde is where you should do it, and you should certainly spend your stay at this lovely apartment. The apartment is clean, the view is SPECTACULAR, everything is nearby...It was just perfect. My girlfriend and I will definitely be returning here sooner rather than later.

Wonderful condo with an AMAZING view!!

My stay at Argelio's condo was wonderful. It was my first time staying at a condo and it was great. The ocean view was spectacular. Everything I needed was provided. Incredible Ocean Views

We traveled to Puerto Rico to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We were looking for a quiet, beautiful place to relax, unwind, and enjoy each others company. As soon as we found Argelio's condo we knew right away this is where we wanted to spend our vacation. We booked about 4 months before our trip and consistently came back to Homeaway to "visit" the property as we grew more excited for our stay.

Booking our trip couldn't have been easier and Argelio was so very helpful and responsive. In addition to answering all of our questions about the property and process, he provided a great deal of information about the area to help us with planning our trip!

Upon stepping into the condo we were blown away. There is no way to describe the GORGEOUSNESS of the Atlantic right outside of your window. The condo was beautiful and comfortable; it have everything we needed for our stay. The size was perfect for the two of us, but could have easily accommodated a group of up to four!

With Walgreen's across the street and TONS of amazing restaurants, shops, as well as resorts along Isla Verde Ave, we wanted for nothing and found something new to explore and do each evening.

We started each morning with breakfast at Sweet Bakery just down the street (Try the Mallorca breakfast sandwich!) before picking up our daily groceries at Walgreens and heading to the beach! With private access to the beach we found a perfect spot near the water each day and didn't have to worry about it being crowded. There are a couple of chairs, a great cooler, and beach towels provided and for $18 we rented two lounge chairs and an umbrella on the beach for the days when it was exceptionally hot!

We spent every day at the beach, followed by drinks watching the sunset on the balcony, and then a night out exploring Isla! My favorite part, opening the windows and falling asleep to the sounds and scent of the Atlantic Ocean each night.

Beyond the location and beautiful scenery, the staff was absolutely incredible. We looked forward to coming home and chatting with Hector at the desk about our daily adventures. He was so helpful offering suggestions for different places to eat or sights to see. It was wonderful getting to spend time with him each day!

We LOVED our stay at Marbella, we have decided that it will be "our place" in PR and plan many visits back in the future!

Thank you again Argelio for helping to make our anniversary such a special experience for us!

Despite having owned my place for over 30 years, I still find the view and the place totally enchanting whenever I can find time to enjoy it. The location obviously helps and the folks available to help with your stay are truly nice folks. I am glad you are planning to come back. Do not worry, I have no intention whatsoever to sell my place.

Amazing views!

The views from this condo are absolutely amazing. Ocean front. It does not get any better than this.

We arrived using the Go Shuttle. The driver pulled up to the gates by Pizza City, buzzed the security guard and they let us in without any problems. We arrived on a Sunday so we had to get the key from the mail box. The box was easy to find and everything worked very smoothly.

During our week at the condo, we talked to the security guard several times. He was always very helpful with giving us directions/suggestions. He was always very polite and courteous.

We cooked breakfast and dinner every day. The kitchen is small but everything works fine. I used the stove top as well as the oven. There are plenty of pots and pans, utensils, glasses and plates. The refrigerator & freezer were big enough for an entire weeks groceries for 4 people. There is also sufficient cabinet space for groceries.

The beds are comfortable. We had 2 teenagers on the fold out couch in the living room. Everyone slept fine.

The internet connection is great. It did go out 1 night but that is not the fault of the condo. It was an area outage. The electricity also went out for a few hours one night. Again, not the fault of the condo. Stuff like this happens in the Carribean.

Gates, gates and more gates. Where ever you look, there is a gate. There are 3 keys that you will need for the condo. A main key for the locks to get into the building and out to the beach. (Yes, you need a key to go from the condo grounds to the beach) A key for the knob on the condo door and another key for the dead bolt on the condo door. This can be a hassle but nothing they can do about it.

We rented a car for a few days and parked in the garage. Super convenient parking space. Right outside the door by the elevator.

There is notebook in the condo (and the owner will email the info) regarding places to eat and things to do on the island. That was very helpful.

This condo is very close to the airport but it is amazing how little noise there is from the airport.

All in all, this is a great place to stay. We enjoyed our stay and recommend it to anyone going to Puerto Rico.

I use my place whenever I have time available to enjoy Isla Verde beach and I try to have it as complete as possible for my guests' enjoyment as well as my own. It is interesting that two reviews in a row have mentioned the building's staff. They are truly helpful with the short term renters and treat them equally well as they do the owners. BTW, Hector, the front gate guard is part of the building's security system. My building which is located in Isla Verde probably has the largest common grounds as well as great facilities such as the large pool. BBQ area, basketball court. shaded picnic tables and a small playground. In the past, these wonderful facilities attracted outsides. Thus, we had to install the rear security fences and control doors. Presently, in exchange for a bit of a hassle with the keys, we have a secured, controlled area for the exclusive use of owners and guests.
