Studio Unit has a Queen Bed and an additional Queen Sleeper Sofa.
Have been skiing my entire life and love the peaceful quaint village environment that Solitude offers. I understand our guests seek the best property for the best value and our high return guest visits assures us we are delivering the best rental experience in the village.
Gene purchased this Condo in 2001
Why Gene chose Solitude Mountain
We are the original owners of this property and chose it for its prime location, western exposure, and it's quiet location in the building. We are avid skiers and Solitude delivers the goods storm after storm! You too will love our home and return year after year as many of our friends and guests have.
What makes this Condo unique
This studio is extremely unique in Powderhorn and the only rental of its kind. This condo is ideal for a couple seeking a cozy affordable getaway with or without a young child or perfect for 2 friends traveling together seeking separate bedding in the same unit. We have handy peg racks in both the home entrances for hanging and drying, gloves, hats, mittens, neck gators, socks, etc. Our guests love these Ski details. Our electronics are state of the art with 3 flat screen HDTV's, DVD's and WIFI internet. The home has great views with western exposure filling the rooms with a warm sundown glow at the end of the ski day.

Perfect ski in/ski out
We loved it here. Gene was a great host in every way possible. We had a great stay!! Thanks!
So glad to hear you had a great stay Kara as we love to share the unique Solitude experience and blankets of fresh Powder with all our guests and provide them with all the details and comforts for a fabulous vacation.
What an amazing place!!
We had such an incredible time at Solitude AND at this unit! Everything about our stay was so perfect. From the rental and ticket locations being in the same building, to the Thirsty Squirrel being right there too, things could not have been more amazing... We will definitely be back!! Thank you!!!
Promise to have more snow for you later this season!!
Thx for the complimentary review Chris and we hope to accommodate you again in the future!
We LOVED this studio right in the heart of Solitude Village! We absolutely loved the surprise access to Club Solitude with all the amenities!!! Hot pool and Hot tubs, Sauna, (also game room, pool table, movie theatre-but we were too busy skiing to use these). This is just a perfect cozy place to stay if you're visiting Solitude. What an awesome week! Gene is so helpful with any questions you may have and always responded to our requests!!! Thank you Gene!!!
Thank you so much for the truly flattering review. It really makes us feel that offering and sharing our properties with others for their valued vacation time is so appreciated. Guests like you make the entire rental venture (as we do strive to offer the best possible guest ski in/out experience at an affordable rate far lower than the resort offers) worthwhile for all of us. As we too travel and enjoy others vacation rental properties, we are pleased to be among a community of travellers who fully enjoy our accommodations. Thanks again!
Convenient, clean ski condo
This is a great location for skiing at Solitude Resort. The studio is small but clean and works well for two people.
The owner gave very clear directions on parking and how to get in the building.
Thanks for your review and we appreciate your providing us feedback! We will continue to work harder towards earning 5 stars from all our guests! Thanks!!
Small but everything we needed
Being ski in, ski out, is awesome. We have stayed in this condo before with a full bedroom and kitchen. Needless to say, this studio was much cozier, but it had everything we needed. I would suggest replacing the coffee maker to something a little better....I took to drinking tea instead. Cooking (microwave & toaster) was challenging but doable. There is no balcony fyi. Nice view of the slopes and the village. For our budget, it was what we could hope for ( we got a great deal on the one bedroom previous stay). All in all, a great ski trip. After all, it's the snow we come for!
Thanks so much for the feedback. As you know there is a definite scalable difference between the studio and our 1BR with full kitchen and this is also reflected in the rates. We have checked out alternate coffee makers but we must be mindful of our housekeeping staff and remain consistant with the standard in the resort as staff cannot expected to be familiar with cleaning and maintenance of every style of coffeemaker. If it was me, I would put in an Expresso / Cappuccino machine! As you may have realized we do offer upgrades where we can such as 600 count cotton linens, comfortable pillows and bedding, and HD TV with DVD as well as wifi internet. We do make it very clear to our guests in our description that we do not offer a kitchen nor a balcony in the studio and we compare the studio to a typical hotel suite. This is exactly what we get in our room when we stay at the Seattle Four Seasons suite. We offer an incredibly affordable ski in/out room for 2 or 3, with great location and views with the expectation the guests will be dining at one of the many on mountain or nearby restaurant options and uses the fridge for drinks and snacks and the microwave for heating up precooked items. If a guest seeks more than that, the 1BR is the way to go. We hope we can accommodate you next time in our 1BR with full kitchen or even our 2BR if you return with others!
What a great snow year once again!
From the minute we checked in we felt right at home. We drove up from Southern Utah for a quiet Thanksgiving getaway which is quite a departure from our Typical family get togethers. Best idea we had all year. Solitude is so serene and peaceful. Too bad it was just so early in the season and only a handful of runs were open but we managed to have a great extended Holiday weekend and get those leg muscles woken up for the season. The village restaurant Thanksgiving dinner spread was superb and we drove down to SLC in less than 30 minutes after Skiing on Saturday. Amazing access to all. The studio was perfect size for us, enough room to spread out, great Satellite TV for nightly movies. Beds were very Comfortable and everything was extremely clean and organized. We found our new Ski retreat and are reserving 2 more 4 day weekends to come back in February and March.
I know the snow was not up to par but we expect and the predictions are for this to be a significant snow year. Hopefully we will deliver the powder for your February trip.
