A special and quiet place to unwind in Amsterdam!

  • 5 of 5

This little apartment is located just outside the city center, a short bus ride or 15-20 minute bike ride away. The bed is super comfortable and the apartment has a cute little sitting/dining area. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare a meal or for extended stays. The owners are very welcoming and helpful. The apartment even includes 2 bicycles which is the quickest way to get around, once you get used to it! Amsterdam is a beautiful, historic city and it was so nice to have a peaceful and comfortable spot to return to after an outing.

Dear Moniek and Otto, Finally we make it to an review :-) We still remember our stay in your lovely accomodation: the flowers, the cake and coffee when we came in, the great tripp to the "other" places in Amsterdam. Thank you so much for being the best hosts ever (we travel a lot). We'll come back to visit you :-) Jana & Jürgen from Stuttgart

A Big Gift in a Little Package

  • 5 of 5

After traveling around Europe for three weeks, we ended our journey for a week's stay in Amsterdam. From the moment we were met at the doorstep by Otto until we left 7 days later, our experience with Otto and Monieck was simply perfect. While the apartment was expectantly small, it was well organized and impeccably clean. We were delighted to find that the refrigerator was stocked with beverage and some essential food items. The location of the apartment was ideal for the trolley and shopping, including a bakery, a well-stocked grocery store and a variety of other shops. We regarded Otto and Moniek as the best hosts we've ever experienced. They were attentive and easily shared their passion for pleasing their valued guests. Yes, w'll be back . . .

5 night stay in Amsterdam

  • 5 of 5

My wife & I recently stayed at this Amsterdam apartment for 5 nights in early April. It was charming, cozy, lovingly decorated & very comfortable. We wished we could live there. It's located in a quiet neighborhood slightly outside the city center but very conveniently located on the #9 tram line with fast & easy access to all of Amsterdam's delights. Our hosts, Otto & Moniek, felt like good friends by the time we left. They were generous, knowledgeable about Amsterdam (restaurants, museums, off the beaten path recommendations) & open hearted. After leaving Amsterdam we went on to Bruges, Dublin & the west of Ireland but Otto & Moniek were the highlight of our trip. We cannot recommend them & their cottage highly enough. Bravo!!

Lovely Amsterdam

  • 5 of 5

My partner and I stayed here recently for a short time while visiting Amsterdam. Everything was perfect and the stay was lovely. I can't say enough about how kind and gracious Otto was as a host. We arrived early in the morning due to our overseas flight and he allowed us to leave our luggage at his house and made us both a wonderful cappuccino with some bread. He then offered us the two bikes he has for guests use and we were off to explore the city. The apartment is located super close to the center but also in a wonderful neighborhood full of great restaurants and very cute shops for shopping. We loved our stay so much and such a great time exploring. Otto was an amazing host and we will most certainly stay there again next time we visit. Oh and I forgot about the bed! I have been dreaming about that bed since we have left- so comfortable! Thanks Otyo and Amsterdam for a wonderful and lovely visit.

A wonderful stay in a Dutch apartment

  • 5 of 5

We arrived at this apartment quite tired as mechanical problems with an airplane delayed our vacation by 24 hours. Our hosts, Moniek and Otto could not have been more welcoming. They served us wonderful fruit cake and coffee. (as it turned out, the same ritual occurred several times during our stay). They used a map to explain the many cultural attractions Amsterdam offered for our specific interests. Otto drove us around the area. They suggested where to shop, where to find an ATM and where to have a good meat at a local restaurant. They also explained how easy it would be for us to take a nearby tram to the center of the city. Later, Otto worked out a train and bus schedule for us to travel to well known national park which we took full advantage of on our departure from their apartment. They even stored our luggage during our side grip to the park. On the personal side we shared several common experiences. In a word, Moniek and Otto were kind and helpful hosts. For us the location in a residential neighborhood was a plus. We took the tram to museums, etc. and returned to our Dutch home which was the best of all worlds. The apartment, although small, was well designed and quite ample for our needs. We would recommend the property for persons who wish to experience the Dutch way of life and the cultural centers of Amsterdam.
