Our Retreat is a vacation property located in the heart of Shenandoah Valley near the historic New Market Battlefield. Close to Bryce and Massanutten Resorts, Luray Cavern, vineyards, and breweries only 1.5 hours from Northern Virginia. There is 10 acres of wooded and pastoral land for you to explore. It includes nature trails, streams, a fire pit, horse shoes, and more. Close to vineyards, antique shops and other attractions. UN-plug and relax. Our Retreat had bed accommodations for 6 (with a coach and pull-down chair that sleep two more). Equipped kitchen, billiard room, ping pong room, work out room, secluded picnic area, and library packed with books, board games, VHS tapes, and DVDs. (Ask about tent set ups)

Cook up family meals, BBQ on the over-sized outdoor grill, and soak up the sunset from the private deck. Show your skill at a game of horseshoes. Relax beside the fire. Regenerate your spirits sitting on the bench beside Smith Creek.

New Years/Birthday weekend
We really enjoyed our stay. The teens had lots of stuff to keep them off their phones. The views and privacy were amazing! They were bummed they couldn't access/find the weight room but they survived! Would have been nice to have a pull out bed in the couch, but the teens were able to make it work. We want to stay again next year!

Perfect for a long weekend
The house is surrounded by mountain and farmland views, and there's a lot of space to explore on the property itself. The teenagers enjoyed the multiple game tables, firepits two nights in a row, and we even spent a minute--all five of us--laying on our backs and stargazing. We were comfortable having our doodle off-leash because he doesn't roam much, but the property isn't fenced in. Overall, the house is really well set-up for a weekend of "unplugged" family time.

Lovely Retreat
We had a wonderful time at the Retreat! The house was well stocked with whatever you may need for an unplugged time to relax & recharge. The views are spectacular! We brought my son's dog and enjoyed checking out the trials down to the water. We visited local breweries and wineries then came back and cooked steaks on the grill. We would definitely come back to the Retreat!

I was born in New York, but grew up in the Shenandoah Valley. The area was great for raising children and always had a feeling of home. My husband and I wanted a place to get away from it all and share with others. Having come from a Big City and working in Northern Virginia himself, he knew how relaxing and inspiring the country was. This is why we have opened "Our Retreat" for you to enjoy.

Why they chose this property

If you are looking to escape the Hussle and bustle of a big city, or looking for quiet, quality family time, 'Our Retreat' in the Shenandoah Valley is for you!!! We have a number of vineyards in the Valley, 2 major ski resorts, small family shops, 2 hours from D.C. and 1 from Charlottesville Virginia

What makes this property unique

Great mountain views. sunsets, trails, Smith Creek, games, books, and movies for all ages. Billiard table, ping pong, air hockey, picnic area, and horseshoes. Large, open and flowing Kitchen, living room and dinning room combination. Stainless steel refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, and much more. We have a small creek, where you can fish , but great to look at.
