About Barbara Bradley

My husband and I are living in Tucson where I work as a Physician Assistant in Urgent Care. We love the house in Casa Grande but it is just too far away from Tucson to commute daily. Our loss is your gain!

Barbara Bradley purchased this house in 2011

Why Barbara Bradley chose Mission Valley

It is a simple easy comfortable home that is just the right size for two or four. It is bright and sunny with an open feeling. The floors are a combination of tile and new carpet. It has a new coat of paint in neutral colors that are soothing and cheerful.

What makes this house unique

The location and neighborhood make this home special. I love being able to do ALL of my errands in an hour without having to fight the traffic of a big city.

Our host was very attemtive and helpful. The house was adequate but not lavish in terms of appointments. We would rent it again.

Comfortable, clean in a nice location

Owner was very attentive and helpful. Home was comfortable, clean and had everything needed. House is located in a nice neighborhood with access to walking path. Convenient location, not too far from shopping and restaurants. Would definitely stay here again.

The inside of the house was just okay. You'll need to take or buy things like garbage bags, dish soap, shower soap, paper towels, etc. because they are not provided. It was fairly clean and comfortable.

The problem I encountered was the outside of the property. The garage is dirty and filled with a lot of junk and storage. There is a dirty unused freezer sitting by the back door that makes it hard to enter the property since it is blocking the walkway around your parked car. The back patio had not been swept nor the table and chairs cleaned. It was too dirty to sit and enjoy the beautiful weather and there were no cleaning supplies to clean it myself. Also, the back patio is shared with a hot tub that is covered with a large piece of plywood that is held down by a few large rocks. You have to be a bit careful not to scrape yourself or snag your clothes on the plywood as you walk by as the space is tight. There is also an old fountain and some other junk on the patio. The back yard was not just unlandscaped, it had been landscaped and then left for dead and is now dead grass, weeds, mounds of ant hills, spider webs, and other unknown pests. Lots of the black plastic was visible coming through the rocks. In the corner was an old shed with corrugated metal. Kind of a lean-to structure, not something you'd buy. There is an old lawnmower and other junk under the metal. There are lots of spider webs in this area. I stayed at the property a week with my dog. When I left, the property was in good order.

I later heard from the owner that she was holding my deposit because the house was infested with tics and she believed my dog was responsible. My dog is treated monthly for ticks and parasites (I sent her the prescription information) and I tried to educate the owner that my dog could not have infested the property, however, she could have carried ticks into the house if the back yard was infested and it was obvious it had not been exterminated. She admitted that other dogs had been at the property previous to our stay but she refused to consider the possibility that they had infested the yard. Luckily, since my dog is treated monthly, she was not infested.

When I rent a property I expect it to be clean and safe and pest free on the inside AND the outside. This property isn't. When I travel with my dog now, I ask the owners if the property has been treated for ticks and other parasites. Lesson learned.

Owner's Response: Every Blue Moon one encounters an unhappy traveler. Everything was fine with Julia until she singled handedly did more damage to my property than almost anyone could. She stayed less than eight days without complaint and only lashed out after it was found that her dear little mutt had infested my home with its dear little friends. She is being a bully and doing her best to hurt me in any way she can because she cannot admit that this may have been her fault. Thank goodness the exterminator got rid of the ticks in short order and there is no residual damage. Yes, the patio in the back yard can get dusty. Anyone who lives in Southern Arizona knows that all it takes is one good wind to make everything covered with dust. The storage shed is there but not to be used by guests. Guests who stay longer periods of time have enjoyed the extra freezer in the garage. The patio has had a makeover since this guest's departure. I think you will find it comfortable and attractive. Every one of my MANY guests has been extremely happy with my little home. Can things be improved? There is always room for improvement and I am always happy to receive helpful comments. Have people given me great reviews? Yes, for years they have loved the house. Both the guests BEFORE and immediately AFTER her stay gave me rave reviews. Is Julia bitter and cannot admit that maybe it was her fault? I think so. Would I have her back as a guest again....not in a Blue Moon.

well stocked and clean

  • 5 of 5

This was perfect for our 7 night stay. I have used Vrbo many times and once again was successful. We were greeted with a thoughtful welcome basket, which is a great touch. They also provided all sorts of kitchen essentials that make a trip easier. I also appreciate the owners responsiveness to questions. We would stay again!

Casa Grande Cute

  • 5 of 5

This is a very nice, comfortable, well decorated home in a completely safe and quiet neighborhood. I wanted a home to stay in on an urgent last-minute basis. When I contacted Barbara her response was immediate. Her home was not entirely ready for guests she still offered it to us. (there were a few dirty dishes in the sink and some last-minute straightening needed to be done in the kitchen). The owner was very kind and offered where to grocery shop, told us where the walking path was around the neighborhood, very accommodating, and communication was great. The home is as described and more. We would definitely stay here again.

Casa Grande's greatest asset is its weather....dry, sunny, and warm winters. It is quickly becoming a favorite place because it has all the amenities of a larger city (shopping, cinema, restaurants, golf) without the traffic.
