This place is a perfect spot for relaxing, eating good food, and enjoying the hospitality of the owners. The cottage was set up so well that we could’ve left half our belongings at home. Anne’s attention to detail is superb, and breakfast each morning was the perfect way to start the day...breads, tarts, boudin...and the fridge was stocked with all kinds of goodies. I can not recommend this place highly enough, and I hope to go back again.

Perfect cottage for an amazing stay

  • 5 of 5

The owners had everything we needed to know in a binder, flyers of area attractions and points of interest as well as history of the area. Instructions were clearly written on how to operate everything and we were contacted to make sure we had everything we needed. The location on the bayou was the best, with a deck at the cottage door and another right on the bayou. Lovely fresh pink roses greeted us in every room and Anne made sure we were well fed. The fridge was stocked with drinks and snacks, as well as a delicious treat, made by Anne I suspect, on the table. We had no need for the washer or dryer but certainly a bonus. The separated bedroom gave my husband privacy for his naps as I read or had coffee on the deck. The layout and decoration of the home was well thought out, very Louisiana and exactly what we needed. I can’t express how much this stay fed my spirit and soul. If we make it back this way, I plan to book a longer stay, absolutely close to everything we could possibly need while maintaining the privacy we craved, having traveled from a city with one million citizens. Don’t pass up this gem if you are in the area.

It was a relaxing and inviting place to visit.

Bayou Rose is on the Vermillion River and it has all the ambiance and interest that a person could want in a cute little cabin in the heart of Cajun country. Abbeville is centrally located in the area so that from there to Layfayette, or places futher south is but a short commute.. The owners are super friendly and helpful and they made our stay most comfortable.

i travel a lot with work and the last thing i want is to be in another hotel and this was by far my favorite place to enjoy the beauty, from the space station from the front porch to the moon sitting over the cottage from the dock at day break.if you like to scuba dive you just walk across the back lawn to the dive shop next door on the river feels like a small part of paradise from morning to night.the pics can`t capture the feelings you get from the cottage.thank you for such a great hide gem.thank you to the owners for helping remind some of us how great life can be.

My girlfriends/classmates enjoyed a wonderful, relaxing weekend catching up at Bayou Rose. Anne & Mike are awesome hosts! We enjoyed boudin for breakfast and nice visits with them. We also went on the Cajun Food Tour which is highly recommended! It gives you a taste of our cajun culture. We definitely plan to visit Bayou Rose again!!
