Our family takes great pride and gratitude in Hidden Vista and the many memories it has provided us, our friends and guests throughout the years. We have lived most of our lives in Phoenix, Arizona where we currently reside. We both graduated for Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, where our oldest son now attends. We want to share this special getaway with you and offer our favorite amenities to create a wonderful experience for you and your family.
Ted Guy purchased this house in 1990
This property provides space for Mom and Dad downstairs and a great area for the kids upstairs. Many dinners and beverages have been enjoyed on the back deck which provides one of the best views in Munds Park. Experience numerous places to hike as well as enjoy fishing for catfish with the kids at Lake Odell which is a five minute walk. We provide fishing poles as well as insight for a great family experience and memory. If your desire is to relax and experience the cool pines of Northern Arizona, Hidden Vista is the place for you.
We have enjoyed this home for many years because of the laughs and moments we have spent on the back deck. The quite serenity of our property combined with a 20 minute drive to Flagstaff creates a recipe for adventurous activities and rest and relaxation. Visiting Lowell Observatory, walking the time traveled streets of flagstaff as well as going down slide rock in Sedona are some of our favorite family memories.
We have rented many homes in past years and found Hidden Vista to be a great location and a good floorplan. We found it well stocked with the all the needed items but it is as described "rustic" do the age of the home. We could not enjoy the local area as we planned because it snowed about six inches the day after our arrival on the Sunday after Thanksgiving. That also meant cold freezing weather outside so we could not enjoy the beautiful deck and outdoor area around the home we know would be wonderful in other seasons. Probably one of the best locations in Munds Park being very easy to find and convenient to coming and going. Kitchen and bathrooms were functional but also dated and not updated but again this is a vacation home. Very nice owner who was very helpful with the booking and in making sure we were happy with out stay. Our only regret is coming in the winter to a house without central heat using only electric heaters and a fireplace without an insert so it would really provide heat. It was not easy staying warm when it was below freezing out side and I have suggested to the owner they put a fireplace insert in with a fan so wood burns more efficiently and it actually heats the house. We certainly would rent the house again when it wasn't winter as we were four seniors who like to be warm. Renting the house in late November proved to be a little late in the year for us. We look forward to returning to the area another time when we can explore more without the issues snow caused us. House did have two TVs on directv and internet service which we enjoyed and tons of games and puzzles too.
Ted was a great communicator. He responded very quickly to my questions before and while we were at the Hidden Vista. Since we booked our stay months in advance he kept in touch via e-mail making sure we knew what to expect and sent me instructions about his place. The cabin is exactly how it looks online. It's nicely decorated and has a lot of room. Since there is no central heating the extra mobile heaters worked great, along with the fireplace. There was plenty of wood and kindling to keep it going all day during our stay. The 3 bedrooms and 3 baths made it one of the best places me and my family have stayed at thus far for our Thanksgiving get togethers. We hope to visit again!
The home was very close to the trails, which we came to Munds Park to enjoy. Great place to go riding. The house was very clean and the view was great from the deck. Parking was a little tricky with our truck and trailer for the RZR's. Overall we had a great time. Thanks!
Property was clean, ample supplies. Kitchen had lots of equipment which can be iffy in a lot of rentals. The deck area was amazing with lots of seating and the fire pit. The gates on the deck meant our four year old grandson was safe and contained when outside, not that we left him alone, but it prevented tumbles down the stairs. Very good layout for larger groups, our family was quite comfortable. The owner/landlord was unbelievably responsive, just could not have asked for more.
Our family (including small dog) enjoyed staying here a great deal! The layout of the house was perfect for family of 5. Our only concern upon arriving was we didn't know there was 3 steps to get to the two downstairs bedrooms, but with the help of a chair on the steps to use as rail-support for our mildly disabled son, he managed just fine. Our younger's loved taking over the loft and upstairs bedroom for their own 'teen' room and had tons of fun with the bumper ball table and board games (which we all played every evening downstairs). During the day we enjoyed the lake with fishing (caught several - don't forget a fishing license) and kayaking (we brought our own). The boys also drove up to Flagg one day to hike and visit the lava tubes (great fun if your not claustrophobic like me). The huge deck is amazing and I personally lived out there enjoying the cool breeze, quiet, and watching the animals (a welcomed change from the Phoenix heat). There is one TV downstairs with basic local channels and access to NetFlix and Hulu (if you have an account of your own to use) and there are tons of DVD's of all types to watch. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you could need for cooking meals and I enjoyed the CD's they had to play while we cooked - though we mostly grilled on the deck using the BBQ. The bedrooms were super spacious and beds were comfortable, including the futon upstairs. The only problem we had when leaving was the green main garbage can on the street was full so we had to leave our full garbage bags in the kitchen for the cleaning service to take care of. Didn't want to leave them by the outside can for fear of animals tearing them apart. We want to thank the owner Ted as he was so kind and worked with us during his vacation to make sure our reservations were secure and had all the information we needed. Thank you Ted (and family) for sharing your wonderful home and God Bless!
The cabin is nestled in a cul-de-sac just off the main road with easy access to all Munds Park has to offer. From a drive thru the woods to a place to eat in town. The owners supply that cabin with everything you will need to entertain, cook and sleep comfortably. The large deck was a great place for everyone to hang out and enjoy the fresh/cool air of the summer. Look forward to renting again. Thank you.
