About Neil Brown
I am a retired Bloomsburg University professor. I grew up in Laureldale, PA and loved playing sports in school. Served in the USMC and then attended Kutztown University, Lehigh University and Temple University where I received a doctorate. My wife is a retired 1st grade teacher - taught in the Bethlehem Area School District for 37 years. We especially enjoy college basketball and attend a number of games each year around the country. Our current home is in Bethlehem, PA and we enjoy staying in the Poconos very much.
Neil Brown purchased this Chalet in 2015
Why Neil Brown chose Hickory Hills
I loved vacationing and visiting the Poconos my entire lifetime. An Amish friend of mine designed and constructed a log home for us. We were not there enough and thought other people might enjoy staying in our vacation home. Since then, we now have 3 chalets available for people to enjoy as much as we do.
What makes this Chalet unique
The chalet is located on a mountain top near the Lehigh River Gorge. The gorge is noted for rafting, fishing, hiking and biking. This is a historic area - the Industrial Revolution began along the Lehigh River. There are many attractions in the area - too many to mention. However, if you want to do absolutely nothing it is also the perfect place.

Great weekend stay!
We ended up with 13 total and it really worked out great. Loved it! Would definitely stay here again.
Great Stay with Kids
We stayed at this cabin over New Year's with a bunch of our friends and even more kids and we had a blast. The property was clean and nice, with plenty of comfortable bedrooms of equal size. There were cozy gas fireplaces in the living room and the game room downstairs. The grocery store was a ten minute drive away and the water park at Split Rock twenty minutes away.
Our first morning we discovered that the coffee maker didn't work. I shot the owner an email and within 30 minutes there was a new coffeemaker at our door! So we were very happy with the service as well. We'd definitely stay again.
Plenty of room
This property was perfect in meeting the needs of our large family. We had our annual Christmas gathering this year at the Chalet and couldn’t have been any more perfect. 12 adults and 3 children and there were still beds to spare. There was even plenty of room when we sat down for our family dinner. The owner was very attentive and readily available to answer any questions. I would definitely recommend this property.
We had a great stay for a long weekend. Area is quiet - house was exactly as described with enough room for the 7 of us who were there. Would return!
My friends and I had a great time! Everything was very clean and there was plenty of room!!
We would love to rent this home again in the future!
Neil was very responsive to all of my questions and even let us check in early!
