There are multiple parks and walking trials nearby as well. Welcome to Bellingham. My husband and I have lived in Whatcom County all of our lives and in Bellingham for about 15 years. We like to golf, travel, read, spend time with family and friends, see movies, and spend time out in the San Juan Islands. We have three daughters and two beautiful grand daughters. We hope you enjoy the area. We will make sure your stay here is comfortable.
We live in Bellingham because of the peaceful non hurried lifestyle, clean air, and the beautiful surroundings of water, mountains and trees. We also love the proximity to Vancouver B.C, the gorgeous Skagit Valley and Seattle. This property is very centrally located to the area with easy access to 1-5.
One of the special things about the space is the decor, attention to detail, cleanliness, and the cozy natural gas fireplace. The central location is a bonus as well. We are always nearby to respond to any of your requests.
Had a wonderful stay here! Shar was an excellent host -- welcoming, friendly, and attentive. She took great care to make sure the apartment had everything for a pleasant and comfortable stay (which included providing a delicious selection of breakfast items). She was also kind enough to respond to my reservation at the last minute when I encountered passport issues on my way to BC -- on New Year's Eve, no less. The space itself is spacious (large living area and separate bedroom -- with such comfortable bedding!), incredibly clean, and beautifully furnished and decorated. Turned out to be a great place for a relaxing solo retreat (spent several cozy evenings working in front of the fireplace), and would make a lovely weekend getaway for a couple, too! The location is nice, as well -- about a 30 minute walk into downtown, and just a few minutes walk to Whatcom Falls Park. Thank you, Shar, for a lovely Bellingham experience! I will happily recommend your place to friends and family in the future.
Shar was very fast and easy to work with. Her place was super clean, organized and beautiful. Great place!!!
The White Orchid was the perfect size for my son and I. Comfy bed and nice size air mattress (the nice high ones). Would recommend for a comfortable place and easy homebase from which to visit the town. Went to Whatcom Falls park for a run. Nice trails.
The unit is located in a private neighborhood very close to downtown. The host has taken great pains to include everything one might need while traveling. In addition, the furnishings were beautiful, the bed very comfortable, and the complementary morning muffins amazing. We will definitely stay here again.
I very much enjoyed my stay at this lovely place. It is nicely done with modern, eclectic elegance. It is one of those places where you feel that the owner has thoughtfully provided for her guests. Shar provided home-baked muffins, coffee, yogurt, granola, assorted cereals and milk. The bathroom is newly done and (like the rest of the place) was immaculate. In addition to being gorgeous, the place is very comfortable and well-located. I was getting my freshman settled in at Western and it was just a brief drive over to campus. Shar was quickly responsive to communications in advance and stopped by to introduce herself and offer any assistance I would highly recommend staying here!
This was a wonderful place to stay. So warm and comforting and cozy. Shar went out of her way to make us feel right at home, allowing us to have our kids hang out with us to finish up wedding prep stuff and actually spend the night one night on a comfy airbed. Loved all the home made goodies every morning! Wish I knew about her place the last 4 years while the girls were going to Western.
This was our third stay at the White Orchid and we were not disappointed. It was clean and welcoming as always. In every place I've ever stayed, there are usually suggestions I can think of to make the place better, but that's not he case here! Everything about the place is exactly what I like. Thank you Shar for making such a safe, clean and warm space for weary travelers like ourselves. We make this trek a few times per year from the Portland, Oregon area to visit our son who is a WWU student and we are very grateful that this apartment has been available for us. The location is superb for visiting the university and for popping over the Canadian border into British Columbia for the day which we have done twice now during our stays. The hotels we have tried in Bellingham have been overpriced and not very clean or nice. If you want a nice place to stay in Bellingham, look no further! This is the one!
Our location is very central, near downtown the waterfront Fairhaven, Lakes Padden and Whatcom, Galbraith Mountain and Chuckanut Drive. We are just over a mile from Western Washington University. There are many activities within a very short distance. Swimming, skiing, tons of hiking, gorgeous drives and scenery, whale watching tours, the list goes on and on!
