Guestbook comments from the manager

5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2015 NEW

Our first time using non-hotel accommodations in Tucson was great, thanks to Amber's "Groovy Pad". The place was spotlessly clean, beds were so comfortable, lots of fluffy towels, kitchen essentials provided, location was great for everything from shopping to eateries. The upstairs/downstairs arrangement was ideal. Everything we needed, with lots of charming touches. We'll be back again--already booked!

Perfect!

The "Groovy Pad" was perfect for us. It was super clean. It had everything we needed in the kitchen. The linens were brand new. The space was enough for two people. It was in a great location. We were 3 bicycle minutes for the Tucson Bicycle Loop. We loved it!

Groovy!

  • 5 of 5

Three ladies booked Amber's awesome condo when the weather was pristine and the crowds hadn't as yet descended.

Not only was the place immaculate, it was so smartly decorated in a 1960's vibe.

Lime green, bright coral, yellow accents and Amber made sure we had everything necessary for our stay.

The kitchen is fully loaded with all the amenities, there were plenty of clean towels (good ones, not shabby) and every light in the place worked.

We found the location, with a garage to be very nicely located. Only a few minutes to great hiking in Sabino Canyon and another short drive to downtown.

The place was quiet and overall...very accommodating.

Eat at Maynard's in a former train depot or, at Le Buzz - excellent. By all means go to the Desert Art Museum of Tuscon right around the corner from the condo and stop by Tanque Verde Ranch for a stroll. Enjoy the Saguaro National Park which isn't far and, if you can go in February when the Gem and Mineral Show is open, haul home some outstanding samples of beautiful minerals from around the world.

Overall, Tucson is a little gem in the desert and our stay and Amber's place was "Cool, man, cool".

The groovy pad was perfect for our 4-day stay. The furniture (including the beds) and the decor are fantastic. The kitchen is well stocked and the little extras like the toiletries and welcome basket made things extra special. Thanks Amber!

Immaculate colorful townhome in Tucson

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this lovely, comfortable rental for over a week and it felt like home! Amber is a kind, organized and thoughtful host who always got back to us within hours (for example, when we asked about early check-in). The location is about 15-20 minutes by car from most Tucson attractions and there are several stores and good restaurants within 5-10 minutes' drive. Would definitely recommend The Screamery ice cream and Prep and Pastry for brunch!

Major attention to detail

  • 5 of 5

This place is great. Amber, the owner, takes great pride in making sure you feel at home. We were greeted by a note from her welcoming us to the condo, along with a bottle of wine and some snacks. She has also covered all of the bases to make sure you have a nice time. The condo had a stock of paper towels, toilet paper, dish soap, K-cups, etc so that you did not have to spend the first day of your vacation stocking up on these basics. There were plenty of towels to use and the condo could not have been any cleaner. Both bedrooms have ceiling fans and the master also has it's own TV. Throughout the entire process, Amber was awesome. We traded emails about good places to eat and visit and her recommendations were also included in a binder that he has in the condo. The location of the condo is great with east access to tons of restaurants, Saguaro National Park (East district) Mt. Lemmon and the Santa Catalina range. One thing I will mention is that the condo is not located in an area where you feel like you are among other travelers. It is located in a regular, middle-class neighborhood. You will be staying among the locals, which is what we like. If you are someone looking for more of a resort condo feel, where you are among mostly other travelers, this might not be your place, but if you are looking for a more authentic, local experience, this is a great place. The neighbors were all friendly and we could not hear any noise coming from the other condo units. We had a great stay and if VRBO or Homeaway are looking for someone to write the book about how to run a successful rental, Amber is your person. No stone was left unturned in making us feel comfortable.

Area recos:

- Mt Lemmon - plan on taking an entire day to drive to the top, stopping along the way. It is amazing.

- Saguaro National Park - he east side is larger and flatter and the west side has more elevation change. Both sides are worth visiting.

- Arizona-Desert Museum - really cool mix of a museum, botanical garden and zoo. Stop at the the top Gates Pass on your way for a short hike and great views

- Poco & Mama's Restaurant - great SW and Mexican food

- Zinburger - really cool place to grab a burger, beer and milkshake

- Saguaro Cafe - 500 ft down the road from the east-side visitor center of Saguaro NP. Best meal I had all week (Mahi tacos)

- Summt Gear - great store (on Speedway) to grab hiking supplies, clothes, etc.

- 4th Street - cool shopping
