REVIEW:

“We enjoyed our stay at this property.” 5 stars

This is a great property. Nicely decorated, not cluttered and very clean. It has everything one might need for a short stay. It would be a great house for a long stay as well. It is light and roomy and so near commercial Georgetown that we walked everywhere. Very convenient for parking during the day with a guest permit. It is a well managed property. We really enjoyed our stay. I would highly recommend it.

Reviewer Comments:

The house sits in a perfect location and it's very nice and pretty clean. had some issues and was quite disappointed of how LUXbnb handled it. Main shower was broken. didn't let us know it before, although told me on the phone they'll try to fix, it didn't happened and they didn't even contact to update. Third floor was way to hot during the heat wave. they send us a small vent... didn't really solved the problem. Didn't have a kettle to boil water, asked for it. never received one. Had to clean by ourselves the BBQ, looked like hasn't been used for a long time... guy in the office was really nice and tried to help, but the availability of the manager and the office was not good and it took many calls to try to get a hold during office our and after. To summarize, We expected more considering the high price of this property. If the maintenance was a bit better this is a perfect house.

The home is as beautiful as it looks in the photos. The location was perfectly situated halfway between Georgetown University and the DuPont Circle metro station. We walked everywhere - to the historic homes and gardens, the canal, the Potomac, restaurants, stores, and bakeries. The Scheele grocery just a block away was wonderful. We all slept very comfortably; the beds were fantastic. The kitchen had a lot more dishes and spices than I usually find in a rental, which made cooking easy. This is one of the cleanest and most luxurious rentals I have stayed in. I fell in love with Georgetown and with this house!

Reviewer Comments:

We had a perfect 45th Georgetown Reunion weekend here….three couples shared the house, with private bedrooms and baths, plenty of entertaining space and a wonderful kitchen and patio. All who stayed with us were delighted with the property and amenities, and we look forward to celebrating our 50th reunion here! The property is beautifully appointed and furnished and in a perfect location to walk to restaurants, M St, Wisconsin Ave, Dunbarton Oaks and Rock Creek Park. Fabulous!

Map

The Georgetown neighborhood has an indefinable, old-meets-new charm in an area just as famous for its historic cobblestone streets as it is for its upscale shopping. Originally settled during the reign of King George on what had been an Indian village, Georgetown was a final destination for oceangoing ships on the Potomac River and a onetime tobacco trading post. A thriving colonial community soon rose up with extensive gardens and stately mansions overlooking the warehouses and busy port below. Thanks to careful city planning, the area still retains its historic charm and grandeur. Many of the stately mansions and their gardens, some of which belonged to families of the nation’s founding fathers, are open to the public. Blocks of cozy homes built for the working class are now charming treasure boxes where neighbors vie for top honors in the spring garden plot competition. In addition to being the best neighborhood in the city for walking tours, the Georgetown neighborhood also offers walking trails in historic Oak Hill Cemetery, Montrose Park, and Dumbarton Oaks Gardens.

Georgetown has two commercial streets, M Street and Wisconsin Avenue that feature a mix of shopping and services catering to both its upscale residents and to the students from nearby Georgetown University. Boutiques, antique stores, fine furnishings, upscale restaurants, cafes, and bakeries share the commercial strips with hip clothing stores and pubs. Wisconsin Avenue divides Georgetown into the East and West Village while M Street, which is considered the nexus of the Georgetown out-and-about experience runs parallel an a few blocks above the Potomac River. Georgetown is a must-stop destination for any traveler to the nation’s capital. Our Georgetown Properties: Georgetown Jewell Georgetown Gem Georgetown Historic
