Lovely, but lots of added fees

  • 3 of 5

The property was lovely, the rooms spacious and comfortable. However, even by booking through VRBO there were many extra fees that were never mentioned in the fine print that made our stay much more expensive. Also, any time we contacted the desk for help, the helpful people would try to sell us a vacation through them. I would have appreciated knowing that it was going to cost so much more and that it was a resort that was trying to get more business. I would have chosen a different place to stay.

Great find for the price

  • 4 of 5

My friends and I really enjoyed our short time here. The condo was nice, clean and spacious to accommodate us all. The property was kept and quiet. This was definitely a great find for the price.

Overall a good stay

  • 4 of 5

The room was clean and functional. There was a lovely wood burning fireplace in the living room. The motif was slightly dated, and there was a tube television in the master bedroom. While not overtly luxurious, it was great for a family vacation. For the price, I was happy. The customer service was absolutely outstanding.

Great complex scenery is beautiful

  • 4 of 5

We loved the resort, but didn't like this particular unit. It was very dated, the furniture needs to be replaced, but it was very clean. The staff is very nice and professional. We will be staying again very soon.

Great place for a family trip

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at Powhatan. The complex was great—a $10 activity fee (per day) covered us for racquetball, swimming, mini-golf, etc. We rented a 2-bedroom condo with a full kitchen, dining room, and balcony. The grounds were well-maintained, the restaurant was great, and the location couldn't be beaten. We'll be returning—it's a great place for a family vacation.
